  1. He went back to school. It was a crowded receiver class so maybe it’s not a bad decision.
  2. You can get veteran corner depth in FA, but if you want a real lockdown playmaker, we’d have to draft one. We also don’t know how long Bradley will be here, so you can’t worry about just Bradley. That’s why you would draft a Quinton Mitchell who is a perfect scheme fit, but also showed he can play press at the Senior Bowl, which makes him great for the current Bradley scheme or one that plays more man. He’d also fit in other scheme’s should the Colts eventually move on from Bradley.
  3. Evan Anderson from FAU is another possibility for a backup to Grover. 6’3” 250 lbs Edit: Shrine bowl measurement was actually 6’0” and 319.
  4. I’m starting to look into Javon Baker and I like what I see. Measured in at 6’1” and 208 lbs at Senior Bowl. Legit deep speed and contested catch ability. Also has route nuance. May be even better of a prospect then Legette and Tez Walker.
  5. So I did some research to put the picture into context. Gronk’s combine measurements have him listed at 6’6” 1/2. That could be why Brock looks so small compared to him. He also may come in lighter to run faster at the combine. He’s apparently got 40’s in the 4.48 range at Georgia.
  6. He’s actually only 6’1” though. Those are his combine measurements. I expect Bowers to be closer to 6’3” which is fine. It’s the weight that has to get up there. There are people that say he probably played close to 225 at Georgia, which won’t work for in-line blocking in the NFL.
  7. This is circulating online. There are some size concerns with Bowers. Theres a few sites that had him listed at 225-235. He might show up at the Combine closer to 240 though. Also he’s probably closer to 6’3” than 6’5”. Not saying it’s a red flag, but he’s probably closer to Sam LaPorta than Kittle or Kelce.
  8. Theres zero chance the Titans take Bowers over an OT or WR. Zero. Their OL is the worst in the league.
  9. Funny you mention Boyd. I’ve just gotten around to doing research on him. I’d take him over Sweat. Sweat may give you 10 snaps a game.
  10. Even so, he’s a 3rd round pick who proved nothing. If there is one thing I believe Ballard has learned, is that unless someone comes out and dominates early on, you can’t pass on drafting players who could be better. Although I’m not big on taking TEs in the 1st round, Bowers is a way better player than Woods. Remember that Woods was raw as he was a converted QB his freshman year. Yes Matt Ryan was bad, but you don’t pass on Bowers because you have Jelani Woods, healthy or not.
  11. The issue with Sweat is that he didn’t weigh in a the Senior Bowl. That lead a lot of people to believe he’s probably close to 400 lbs. At that point, he’s probably a 2-down player at best.
  12. The NFLSE podcast did a show breaking down this same mock from Zurlein. One thing they said is that the Colts pick likely comes down to Bowers or Quinyon Mitchell. That seems very plausible to me. I’ve seen two people who are plugged into the league (DJ and Zierlein) both mock Bowers to us. I have to accept that it’s a real possibility now.
  13. $12 million is fine for Grover. He’s pretty much the prototype for nose tackles. Commands double teams and helps stop the run. You couldn’t ask for much more. TBH I’d much rather have to replace Zach Moss or Julian Blackmon than a guy like Grover. Really good NTs are hard to find.
  14. I think Pierce is his comp. Same deep speed but questionable hands and might never be a good route runner, so he’ll struggle to separate on his own. I think we should go after a receiver with a different skill set than we already have.
  15. Spencer Rattler was the only notable standout from the actual game. Usually the game is where the QBs, RBs, and LBs can actually shine. Wonder how many players we’ll pick up from here. Read somewhere that like 20+ of Ballard’s picks have been senior bowl participants.
  16. He only played half a season last year because of NCAA transfer rules. His stats given the 7 games he played is actually great. My issue with him is skill set. He’s kind of one dimensional.
  17. I like him and he’s definitely a Build a Ballard guy. My only issue is he’s a lot like Dayo, but more polish. Dayo had a break out year but do you want to spend a high pick on a guy who you essentially already have on the roster? It’s also not like Dayo is old either.
  18. Some of my personal standouts/favorites from the practices: -Kitan Oladapo, SAF Oregon State -Dylan Laube, RB New Hampshire U. -Max Milton, CB Rutgers -Cam Hart, CB Notre Dame -Gabe Hall, DT Baylor
  19. During the post draft presser, Ballard said they like Dayo so much they thought about taking him in the 1st round. So it’s likely they liked Paye and him about the same. Personally I think Edge is a round 3 or later pick this year. Like you said we already have those guys on the roster and they both had 8 sacks this year. If Lewis leaves you may want another guy in the mix to sit and develop.
  20. I’ve done a couple PFF mocks where AD Mitchell drops to the 2nd, which would be a dream scenario IMO. Could go CB or Bowers in the 1st, and AD in the 2nd.
  21. @stitches @Solid84 I’ll say this. Before we get into what positions Ballard values, remember that above all he values traits. Guys with rare and elite physical traits who can be superstars. AR5, JT, Brent’s, Paye, Dayo, etc… were all guys he drafted who were elite athletes. Regardless of if we stay at 15 or trade down, I think Ballard is going to go for that. Remember, that this will only be his 4th time picking in the 1st round. His picks have been Hooker, Nelson, Paye, and AR. Probably not enough of a sample size to rule out who he won’t draft. But all of those guys have been elite athletes. So far it looks like this draft is top heavy at corner with guys that will test extremely well at the combine. I get he values the trenches, but that’s not where the talent is at this year, nor is that a major weakness on this team. I’ve been pushing the WR thing myself, but would Ballard take Coleman over a guy like Mitchell or Wiggins? Now if Nabers or Odunze fall, that’s a sprint the card in pick, but after that we don’t know. Right now If the draft were tomorrow I can almost guarantee he’s draft a CB. After the combine we’ll see, but to me its 1. CB 2. WR/Bowers
  22. Apparently AR and Mitchell go way back from their days in Florida before college.
