24 hours is 24 hours
Wait, I was told Duron was 6-5, 4.4s guy. It took him so long to pass through waivers?!
-
Duron Carter passed through waivers unclaimed "blazingly fast".
-
Ballard, Varga, Price, Toler, Guy are far from safe. The Colts still need two more DL, so it's far from finish. But why we keep talking about Ballard in this thread? I can't understaand that logic: healthy Carter is better than injured Ballard, so Grigson sucks. Why?!
-
Tim Jennings, Jerry Hughes there two
Oh, no, that stuff again. In Indianapolis Jerry has played alongside Antonio Johnson, Fili Moala, Ricardo Mathews, Clifton Geathers, Lawrence Guy. In Buffalo Jerry plays alongside Marcell Dareus, Kyle Williams, Mario Williams. Feel the difference.
-
Minnie Mouse receivers are not a good risk reward scenario. Look at our own 1st Round Minnie the minute he gets hit .... fumble and injury. And for the spinners, I am not saying that there are not some exceptional Minnies out there .... just that I prefer big receivers over small ones any day of the week. Carter just needs toughness. There is no reason why a 6'5 receiver should not physically dominate every corner he faces.
So it was your decision to play 6-2, 219 lbs. Darrius "Durable" Heyward-Bey instead of 5-9, 173 lbs. T.Y. "Minnie Mouse" Hilton back in 2013?! I see...
By the way, being 6-4, 316 lbs. human doesn't help Ben Heenan to stay healthy.
-
Bravo! You know...I was just sitting here thinking that we needed another Werner thread.
-
He is 5th best OLB on this team. This team carries 5 OLBs. So...
-
There is "like" button on my phone? So I guess it's a good thing we DON'T play buffalo tomorrow, huh champ? ;)
-
All I saw were catches against Chance, Taylor, Carr... and Bowen, talking how great, impressive, unbelievable Duron is.
-
Oh, that's great, but what about production? I don't like to be told about someone's production, I want to see that by myself. So...When he was getting reps with Andrew Luck. Safe to say he's a real QB.
As for speed, 4.58 was his combine 40, he trained tirelessly and improved his speed while in the CFL. A buddy of mine used to train at the same gym as him in Montreal and watched him run a 4.4 40, and I've seen a video of a 4.42 40. Unofficial of coarse, but still certainly not slow.
-
He is a 4.58 guy. Not "fast as heck". And where I can see his production with a real QB? Where have you seen that production? Can I use your crystal ball for a second?
How would you know this? All we've seen from him in pre-season has been with QBs who couldn't complete a pass to a standing target 5 yards away from them. If you look at his production with a real QB he was extremely impressive. Also, 6'5 dudes who are fast as heck don't come around often.
Anyways, get back to be on the crystal ball I really need to borrow it!!!

Why would Grigson and Pagano be sorry? And Carter is gonna be out of the league in 2 years. There's no comparison to Hank Basket-case. Carter is raw but is gonna be a valuable player.
As soon as Old Andre goes down (and he will) Grigs and Chuckles the Clown are gonna be very sorry.
-
He is 6-5. A lot of people were happy with Hank Baskett (6-4) arrival: deep threat, big red-zone target... The rest is history.I am with you.
Let's be honest here, if Durons last name was Smith or Johnson he wouldn't have got any hype.
-
Rayford was impressive in TC. Kerwynn Williams was impressive in TC. Rogers was impressive in TC. Every year same song.
-
This thread is not about Ballard, who's waiting his axe.
-
But he's SLOW, and he's SMALL, and doesn't get desperation. It other words he doesn't get to to many balls he can reach. Also, imo, if he ever played regularly he would be injury prone.
Griff Whalen

Duron Carter

So, Griff Whalen is slow?!
-
Ballard wants to give his locker to Red Bryant in person.
-
Totally agree. All that talks about enormous upside of the CFL player from CC are just crazy. Carter is one blown coverage away from being invisible in preseason. I've just tried another reason in order stay away from Carter fans.Whalen is a better player at this point. He catches just about any ball he can reach.
-
When you are #5 WR you have to be a heck of a STer. Carter is not. Bray to PS.
-
So Irving got #56 and Moore got #55.
-
Whalen is better as a STer.
-
Whoa, WHAT?!
He was frequently projected to be in the top 20.
By Walterfootball.com?
Looks like PFF projected Anderson to be a 1st round pick... and Brown to be a 2nd round pick.

For all Malcolm Brown / Eddie Goldman fans.
Malcolm Brown: -5.2 (in 3 games).
Henry Anderson: +4.4 (in 2 games, vs. Eagles, vs. Rams, no data vs. Bears).

Is it unbelievable? Not really.

So far it looks like Grigson got 1st round talent at WR with 1st round pick AND 1st round talent at DE with 3rd round pick.
I know, it’s only preseason, 2nd stringers, vanilla offense and so on. But… well… Malcolm Brown didn’t play against Dallas or Baltimore 1st string OLs as well.
P.S. Just for fun:
Leonard Williams: +2.8;
Danny Shelton: +2.6;
Arik Armstead: -0.7.

Actually that would be a royal flush lol!
Isn't royal flush just a variant of straight flush? I'm not good in terms of poker.
Duron Carter Clears Waviers.
