  1. I really have no clue on Pep. I can see the potential he has, but the lack of bootlegs, screens, and just overall offensive imagination at times is troubling.

I'm going to have nightmares of 2nd and long draw plays

I thought draw play was used against defenses playing deep ball. So draw on 2nd and long is pretty imaginative.
  2. Maybe DHB is not the only one skilled player on offense or special team who is doubtful? Maybe someone has minor injury and Grigson prepares to AFCCG like this injury is going to be more serious after this game? Maybe the Colts want to try to make the Patriots think about the Colts as a pass first team? Who knows...

  3. On the flip-side, if a QB faces pressure from the edges, he has to step up into the pocket, thus making it easier for interior lineman to get sacks.

    Very true. But...

    K. Williams: 21 sacks last 4 years.

    M. Williams: 37 sacks last 4 years.

    M. Dareus: 18,5 sacks 3 years played.

    J. Hughes: 15 sacks last 4 years.

Looks like other players were capable to get to QB before Jerry's arrival.

  4. Branch-0

    Williams-10.5

    Dareus-7.5

    Mario Williams-13.0

    Alonzo-2

    Bradham-0

    Moats-0

Bills total not adding Hughes: 33

    Redding-4.5

    Francois-2.0

    Franklin-0

    Mathis-16.5

    Freeman-4.5

    Angerer- .5

    Walden-3.0

Colts Total sacks with intended starting lineup-31........Its not nearly that far apart minus what Hughes has done.......which all stands on his own if you have seen all of his sacks

Now I know your likely thinking we would have alot less if Mathis had not been playing...Very true....14.5....But since we are taking away Mathis's sacks then I think its fair to take away Mario Williams 13.0 since they lead there club in sacks...So whats that give the Bills MINUS Hughes since you claim Williams and company helped him get those numbers......20.......Thats not a big difference.....The biggest reason for Hughes living up to his 1st round selection now(for the record he wasn't worth the 1st round selection coming out and I think Polian actually knew that considering he barely got any playing time his 1st year and it was glaring on film he had alot to work on) is he getting more consistent playing time compared to what he got here

When QB faces strong inside pass rush, he can't step into the pocket, he have to leave it. As a result, it is easy to get to him from the outside. Don't compare team totals. Compare inside pass rush totals. Bills get 18 sacks from their interior D-line, Colts get 6,5 sacks from their interior D-line.
  5. If Redding (a-la Kyle Williams) has had 10,5 sack, Franklin (a-la Dareus) has had 7,5 sacks, Freeman (a-la Alonso) has had 4 sacks and Mathis has had his 16,5 sacks, Walden would be a 10-sacks player also. It's not about how good Hughes is. It's about how good Hughes' teammates are.

  6. I think Cinci is the last team I would like to play in the AFC right now.

Cincinnati looks like Kansas City 2.0 to me: talented roster, esp. on defense, average QB, average HC. Last two positions are the reasons of their latest PO record. Bellichik and Manning are more dangerous.

While Vontae Davis may be our fourth-highest graded cornerback in 2013, it was his Indianapolis Colts teammate Darius Butler (+4.5) who caught our attention in Week 15. Starting just five games all year, Butler has been up and down, but the former second round draft pick out of Connecticut had his best game of the season on Sunday, taking advantage of Texans quarterback Case Keenum’s willingness to go after him.

The seven passes thrown into his coverage were the most against any Colts defender in the game, with him giving up just two receptions for 20 yards. More importantly, he was able to get his hands on three of those passes, recording two interceptions and a pass break-up. That all resulted in him allowing an average of 0.54 Yards Per Coverage Snap and a reception once every 18.5 snaps in coverage, coming in at 10th among all cornerback in both categories and putting a bit more ‘up’ into that up-and-down year.

Davis + Butler + healthy Toler = pretty good secondary.

  11. Because we don't like running up the score?

Because fake punts are once a season rare events?

Because Belichick is a genius and every coach the Colts have ever had have been amateurs?

Because it's the season of goodwill?

Because you are a trolling hater?

    Anyway, you decide.......

English is not my native language, but you clearly didn't get my point. It seems like every time the Colts achieve something, a lot of people start to bash that achievement. Win AFC South? This division is a garbage! Never lose to the Texans? They are 2-12 team! Win that Denver game? Irsay was in Peyton's head! Win Seahawks game? You were lucky on blocked FG! Win 49ers game? They were not in their prime! I don't like this kind of stuff.

  12. When the Patriots escape the Texans with a 27-24 win, it was about how close the Texans' losses were. When the Colts terminated the Texans, it was about the Texans given up. When the Patriots put 59-0 on 0-6 Titans, they were perfectionists. When the Colts tried fake punt, they were classless. Why?

  13. Good point. I didn't include Mack because I was thinking La Puente might be cheaper and there is no way Mack leaves Cleveland with the cap space they have.

I can be wrong, but they don't have much cap space.

    http://overthecap.com/teamcap.php?Team=Browns&Year=2014

Looks like they already have 103 mil spent. Sure, they can save money and cut somebody, but they have to spent some money on other free agents (T.J. Ward and Chris Owens, very underrated CB, IMO) and draft picks.
