IMO, Kaep is not the best out of the young QBs but I do think he's #2 behind Luck. And I will say this, Kaep has the best team out of all of them. Best oline, best defense, but not the best WR corp.
-
Hopes Landry smacks him when he runs his one-trick pony fly route.
-
Came here to eat my crow. Should have been worried.
-
There's one problem with your assessment. They're Buffalo.
Indeed. Hahahaha!
I see them going 6-10. But their losses will be competitive. I have hope.
-
Naaa most interesting is the Pats struggle vs ....BUFFALO ?
I called it, the Bills aren't really a pushover anymore. That defense is nasty and the offense has weapons. Can't mark them off anymore.
-
Lucks gotta throw it to him for fleener to get more production. And it'll be easier for luck to do that when the OL gets better
I kind of think this is the case. At Stanford, Luck had a monster line.
-
I don't know what it is with him, maybe we aren't using him right or he's just performing how he should. I'm starting to worry also.

The one knock I seem to have against Werner is his speed. I won't make any comments on his judgement and stuff like that because he is a rookie and I trust Pags and staff to acclimate him overtime, but his speed is an issue. He has that first step, but he lacks that closing-chasedown speed needed to get those behind the line tackles and sacks.
I can say one thing for sure though, if he continues to improve he will no doubt be our starter next year or maybe even this year. He's a good player and good pick.
-
Why do people hate rookies lol.
Patients is a thing of the past. Produce now or GET OUT!
Especially rookies that are picked in later rounds. You would have swore we pick in the top 5 or something. Depending on how deep the draft is, most of the time after about the 15-20th picks, you are getting into depth range, not day 1 starters.

Another thing I would like to add, we are really the first team to play Pryor and the new Raider offense this year. Even though I think the Raiders making positive moves, I think once tape has been made on Pryor he will level out for the year. We were kind of at an disadvantage because we didn't know until late who was actually starting for the Raiders. Not saying it's an excuse for our poor defense against the option, just saying it's a thought and this could mean we will become better against it since we have our first true experience against it.
-
2 things I'm worried:
- Protection
- Defense against the read-option
Happy with the win, but those 2 things need to be worked.
-
Let's hope his he can stay healthy because we need him 100% if we are going to get better against the run.
-
Dude's a rookie who played in his first NFL game against a good rushing attack in Pryor-McFadden.
As others have said, give him a year until the judgement is out on him.
-
Conner is out.
Crap.
Funny thing is last year I wasn't sold on these guys, but I'm warming up to them, especially Sheppard.
-
I've said this before, but I think Pags has built this team to not "wow" people, but for the playoffs.
We have a strong defense, building up the running game, but we still kept our explosiveness on offense.
-
Oh yeah, I see Andrew as the 2nd coming of Peyton Manning. Nothing else needs to be said.
-
luck is good---happy to have him------but how bout irsays read on manning? i think colts let 1or 2 super bowls go
No way. We didn't have the money OR personnel to even give him 1. A rebuild was necessary. It was obvious Peyton would not have the best chance to win a SB with us and I respect Irsay for understanding that. If you think that letting Manning go came down to money and health, then you are sadly mistaken.
-
We have Landry and Bethea..
This.
I can see the Ravens or Dolphins going at him. I don't think the BIlls are stupid enough to make the NFC any stronger lol.
-
Sad to hear but I'm cool with Sheppard, Freeman, and Conner.
-
This is the make or break year for flacco. He lost his weapons and it's up to him to carry the team and show the world why he is worth the money the ravens are paying him.
My prediction, without a defense to give him the ball and make stops, he will suffer and prove that he is still a 2nd tier qb and not elite.

To me it was the perfect no call
I say 80% of the time, that call will be made in a regular. I think the refs didn't want the game to come down to a flag. The final 5 minutes of that game was as dirty as can be, but that pass was just the most blatant to me.
-
Crabtree was attempting to do the oldest trick in the book (or the micheal irvin)......create contact then push off with the forearm. Smith didn't fall for it and neither did the ref. This has been pointed out by both Chris Carter and Dick Sherman.
I understand Crabtree was trying to create space by "decisively" push off on Jimmy Smith (mind you, that was happening on both sides of the ball ALL game), but deliberately hold someone, not even try to hide, but wrap your arms around someone and literally hold them is unacceptable. I'm not saying to look the other way on the attempted push off, but it's different ways of preventing space from being made than wrapping up a WR. In any other game, that "push off" wouldn't have been called but that hold would have been.

I know. Most bizarre play calling I have seen given the personnel on the field. I would have run either Gore or Kaep all four times.
Maybe he took a "dive"?
No, just horrible coaching.
-
Borderline call I think. What I couldn't understand is why Harbaugh had Kaep throw four straight times from the 5 when he and Gore were the best RBs on the field.
I will say this, I DO believe the 49ers should have lost that game. But I will say this, that was horrible coaching on that final sequence. You have Frank Gore, one of the best lines, and KP. How do you not run some type of option or QB sneak?
We drafted Fleenor to be an in-line blocker? Good plan!

When we drafted Fleener, I thought he was going to be our next Dallas Clark. Basically a big body split out wide to cause mismatches. It was a good idea to me at first but for some reason we don't use him like that.
