  1. I know, I can’t edit it still fine with the first we gave up
  2. They are really late on this one but finally the decision was made. i expect the chargers to be in win now mode because that roster isn’t getting any younger. Most of their talented players are approaching 30 or on the other side of it.
  3. Ehhh I’m indifferent on Tee Higgins. He’s a great player for sure, but he’s not the dynamic burner I think this offense desperately needs. We need a WR that can consistently flip the field on the outside and middle. If we miss out on bringing Pittman back (which I doubt) then I’m down for grabbing Higgins, but otherwise I think we need to look at the draft and hopefully grab that dynamic burner.
  4. Agreed, I’m eating my crow now. Had this teams ceiling being 7 wins and they’ve surpassed it. Hats off to Shane and the staff. Just imagine this team next year with AR being dynamic and Shane opening up the playbook.
  5. I love what Shane has done with minshew. When he first took over after the AR injury, he was jittery in the pocket and never looked down field. Now, he’s done a complete 180. Hats off to Shane for the coaching and minshew for putting in the work.
  6. Ebukam, another 49er steal. Buck was the first. Remember when we got buck, people didn’t think he was good enough for the 2nd we gave them. Ebukam has been a very good signing. happy for dayo also! Hoping that he turns into an every down defensive end. But that would mean less snaps for qwitty
  7. No, I didn’t narrow it, I just explained what I think a qb whisperer is. Similar to a dog whisperer, or any whisperer. It means you can take almost any situation and turn it into something. let’s just use a dog whisperer as an example (change the variables). If said whisperer could handle mature dogs but couldn’t handle younger dogs and puppies, would you give said person the dog whisperer title? Probably not. So it shouldn’t be any different when we’re using the whisperer title for qbs. Once again, qb whisperer to me means that said coach can develop any kind of qb and get the best out of them. I mean, haven’t multiple posters on this thread said that Reich has a “type” when it comes to qb? Versus Shane who had a mobile running qb with a cannon arm looking productive and now minshew who is the total opposite. I haven’t followed Reich outside of his Indy and panthers seasons so if you can provide me with something prior to those that shows his qb whispering skills then I’d change my opinion. But sorry, what you’re essentially telling me is that reichs system is qb friendly, which is not calling Reich a qb whisperer.
  8. Honestly, he just need to play more. He’s missed a lot of time this year and as a rookie you need the experience, especially at one of the hardest positions in the game. availability is his number one problem right now.
  9. GOOD Minshew: good safe from him. Didn’t force anything and protected the ball. 3 touchdowns on the day and a 128.3 rating. That’s all we need him to do. Pittman: he was KILLING them before the hit knocked them out. 4 recs 78yds, WR1 play right there. Would’ve went for more. Hope he gets out of the protocol quickly. Sermon and Goodson: almost 200yds on the ground. Way to take it to them. Next man up! Montgomery: signed off the practice squad this week and grabs his first touchdown. Even though he dropped the first one, he redeemed himself Defense: don’t like the prevent defense we play when we’re ahead but when you hood the opposing team to 216, I can’t complain at all. Great job! Could say some more but don’t want to make this too long. BAD Matt Gay: not really that bad, but if we’re paying you a lot of money to do one job, then you gotta be 100%. Punt Team: bad blocking on that blocked punt. Think that’s all I have for bad. Anything else I’d be nitpicking. Great all around win. Put up 30 and held the opposing team to less than 300 yards. 8-6!
  10. getting a good year out of already established qbs is not what I envision when I read “qb whisperer” a qb whisperer to me is what Shane is doing. No matter what style qb you give him, he’ll make something out of it. developing that qb and making that player play to their strengths and not forcing them to do something else Taking an already established qb and putting him in your system is exactly what that is.
  11. so basically, as I’ve said before, Reich isn’t the qb whisperer people have painted him out to be. regarding tepper, why hire a HC you can’t even trust to hire his own staff? Maybe he saw what happened in Indy and didn’t want a repeat? Idk, but that makes no sense.
  12. meh, idk. Those guys spew a lot of stuff sometimes. And the athletic says otherwise regarding picking the qb.
  13. I think defenses have finally caught up to offenses and the rules that tailor to them. Pass rushes have become faster and stronger. DBs have become more athletic and smart. and it’s not just mobile qbs. It’s QBs period. The price tag for OL and backup qbs will shoot up in the future if this continues to be a thing.
  14. Watching that chargers game makes me appreciate Shane so much more. Chargers lose their qb, they roll over. We lose our qb, we’re in the playoff hunt. Staley should’ve BEEN fired. They’ve wasted Herbert’s early years and that team is getting old quick. oh well, time to call them about Joey bosa lol
  15. Because Pittman is the only consistent option. If Pierce was consistently the Pierce we saw vs Tennessee he would definitely get more attention, but the reality is he’s not. My original reply was in response to a question asking is 3 recs 100yds better than 11 recs 100 yds. Also, Minshew is who he is. Minshew is going to throw it within 10yds 9 times out of 10. Also, minshew cant extend the play. It takes Pierce more time to run down field than it does for Pittman to run his short route. Send pressure, minshew gets happy feet and doesn’t look down field. That’s the difference between minshew and AR. AR will avoid the rush and keep his eyes downfield. Also, Pittman got the majority of his yards when the game was over. He was 5 for 40yds (under 10yds/rec) before the bengals started playing off.
  16. Which one is the defense going to pay more attention to? Who’s going to command a corner and a safety overtop to keep them contained? Read my comment above.
  17. Easily. If Pierce did that consistently, he’s not only beating his man, he’s beating the entire defense. The defense would have to pay so much attention to him which would open up the offense even more. That is the problem with this offense. We don’t have a consistent deep threat. What Pittman does is productive, but like others have said it’s inefficient. Pittman gets his yards by a thousand cuts, and defenses are clearly ok with it. Look at it like this, we’re helping the defense out by shortening the field for them 33% of the offensive plays. If we throw 30 times, and we can bet 10 of those throws are going to Pittman who isn’t going to run his route more than 10 yds down the field, then as a defense I can bring everyone up and play both the run AND pass without worrying about getting beat deep. All I need to do is put a safety and corner on Pierce, put a corner on Pittman and let him Play off of him, and make sure my linebackers are playing the middle for downs and the tight ends. Or I could blitz, let one of the safeties defend the middle and let a linebacker go after the quarterback. Basically, to beat the colts, you just have to stop the run. That’s it. You stop us from running the ball and your chances of beating us increase dramatically. Let Pittman get his short yardage catches on first or second down, tighten up on third and send pressure because chances are we aren’t going deep.
  18. This is going to be a short one because there really isn’t much to write about: Good MPJ: another game where he shows his ability to be an alpha WR1. 8 catches for 95yds is a good stat line. Still don’t like the high amount of targets (11). Hope next year with AR were able to spread the ball around more. The rest of the receiving core had solid numbers. But we can’t become the explosive offense I hope we become when one player has almost as many targets as the rest of the receiving core combined. RHJ: good job getting that interception. He has been a solid addition to the team. Bad All 3 phases and coaching: simply, we just looked bad. Couldn’t run, couldn’t get to the quarterback, couldn’t tackle. When we did actually begin to move the ball, either penalties or turnovers killed the drives. This is easily the worst performance by this team this year. Hopefully this will wake up the team. We should come out against a reeling Steelers team and punch them in the mouth.
  19. Can you Big Q screaming through a hole as JT is running right behind him..
  20. agreed on diontae. as far as Keenan, feel like Keenan does more. Not saying MPJ can’t do what Keenan does, but doesn’t. As far as going deeper. I wouldn’t mind giving MPJ $20mill either. But as I stated above, I would offer him $22mill because that’s what I think he’s going to get.
  21. Gotta read above, I said I’d offer him $22million but personally I wouldn’t give him more than $19million. It’s negotiations. I wouldn’t start at $19million because I know he’s going to garner higher than that, that’s just my personal opinion. now, why do I think he’s a $19milllion WR? Because looking at the salaries for other receivers that’s where he fits. Diontae Johnson gets $18.5. Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, Chris Godwin and a couple others get $20million. Deebo Samuel and the other elites are $23million and up. if you think he’s with the $23million and up crew (deebo, Tyreek, JJ, etc.) then I think that’s overvaluing him. I said $19million because there are receivers in the $20s that affect all of the field while Pittman for majority of his career hasn’t, but I do think he’s better than the $18mill and below players. but of course, that’s if he was being signed right now. We don’t know what the tv deals and increased cap will garner him.
  22. I wouldn’t want sweat. If we’re going to spend capital then go for the best. Chase would’ve costed us picks and the chance of losing him for nothing since he made it known he wanted to test FA. I’d rather give him a big offer in FA than to trade for him, lose picks, and best case scenario still have to spend money if he chooses to resign.
  23. Once he spends some money in free agency on prime proven talent, then I will change my opinion. For now, he’s a good GM that could be a Great GM. not saying go out and win the FA Trophy, but if there’s a player out there who can come in and immediately make difference and put this team on another level (ex. Chase young), then throw him an offer that won’t get easily outbidded.
