He left Cleveland because he didn't want a green jacket like some of his new teammates!

I thought this league just might work since it was competing with the NFL, but trying to work with it to develop young players. Oh well, it was a nice stop gap for a few weeks, but once the free agency period started, then I started paying less attention to the AAF. Thought the name was awkward, too. Much better as the AFA (American Football Alliance).

That's the first thing I noticed...I guess they don't care about getting into the Pro Football HOF and wear a yellow jacket!
Also, no "I" in team, but there is a "ME" in that word.

I would think that after last year's FA signings and the additions this year, that we can trust Chris Ballard to do the right thing. When we aren't over paying for Free Agents on the first or second day next year, we'll not freak out and let the man do his job. We have a lot of free agents on our roster next year that he will need to address and we'll have the cap space to keep our core together.

Haha...that tweet is the very definition of trolling. Even Wells isn't dumb enough to think that one has to do with the other. (Is that a fake account?)
Edit: Just checked. It's a fake account.

Some reaction:
So, actually Ballard has been active in free agency, just not necessarily with other team's free agents.

So if we signed both Ajayi and Lynch today and then re-sign Geathers before the draft, how would y'all feel moving forward?
Ajayi gives us a certified bruiser for short yardage, goal line and ground and pound late in games.
Lynch gives us a back-up defensive end either as an edge setter on the left side or pass rusher on the right side.
Geathers we get our nickel and dime safety..... I'm pretty sure the draft will net us our deep cover 2 safety and a well respected 'captain' of the team back - which is important for chemistry!
Nothing wrong with building depth and creating competition. These are not household or sexy names, but if they are solid, coachable players that fit into our culture, then it's good. We have a lot of free agents on this roster for next season and will need to re-sign several of them to maintain our core.
So, let's have another good to great draft and then PLAY BALL!!!

Let's all "Geather" around and celebrate!

If the Colts were to draft Hockensen I wonder if Doyle's roster spot is jeopardized? He's had his struggles with injuries, is 29, & they'd save $5mil in 2019 by cutting him.
Interesting possibility.

I've seen more than a handful of mocks that have TJ Hockensen dropping & the Colts grabbing him at 26. I know that'd be a headscratcher for a lot of fans, but that guy is a carbon copy of Gronk, & he'd immediately be the best TE on the Colts roster.
If they draft this guy, the WR isn't such a need until later rounds. A play-making TE in the mold of Gronk, along with Ebron and Doyle would take a lot of pressure off our WR corps and we could develop the young receivers.
-
If he does, then I'll certainly watch. If he doesn't, then it will be interesting to see who they get, because it was painful to watch/listen this past season.
-
It's a way for him to wiggle out of appearing at a trial. People will soon forget this and move one without a trial and conviction and punishment.
But, as someone pointed out, the NFL is a whole different matter on how they handle it.

That is concerning and we need to draft someone that has little or no issues of any kind.

He's a late round target...but I would recommend watching Greg Dortch. One of my favorite late round guys. Watched him torch Louisville twice.
He's small and not super fast...but quick, shifty and just a playmaker as a slot WR and in the return game. Catches well too (has a highlight of an awesome one-handed grab). Seems very much like a great locker room guy as well.
EVERYONE torched Louisville this past season!
Not to take away from Dortch, at all. I live near Louisville and it was a brutal season.

There's another thread on Stanley Morgan, Jr. of Nebraska. I was impressed with the video posted. I'm not as in tune as you guys and I guess he's a mid-to-late round pick. But, if we go defense in our first 3 picks because of how the draft unfolds, I though Morgan looked very good as a later round pick.

Thanks for posting...not often to see highlights of a Nebraska receiver! The wishbone days are long gone

There are a few in there that could demand decent money on the market....
Additionally, there are quite a few young core or soon to be core players to re-sign on that list.
Whether Brissett is let go or not, we will likely gain a comp pick or two.
So, maybe this is why we've been quiet in FA this season? Even if we re-sign half of these guys, there are a lot of holes to fill on the roster next season.

If they don't win their division, at least they are "in the hunt" and it's been a long time since that happened. I'm happy for the fans there and I'm sure they are very excited.
Now, if they would just dump those terrible uniforms and go back to the classic Browns look, then they'd be better off, too.
-
Best post on here in a long time. It really helps us understand what may be going on in Chris Ballard's mind.

This may be a silly question, but I don't know the answer.
Are teams/players required to announce visits?

Today I learned that Antonio Brown is a top 5 WR of all-time, which I did not know.
And, apparently Funchess is a bottom 5 WR of all-time.
Here are 13 other NFL teams that should change uniforms

I agree with that list, too. To me, the best uniforms are the more traditional looks - Colts, Packers, Bears, Chiefs, Bills, Saints.
I do not like the all black or all one color uniform combinations and absolutely hate the color rush uniforms. I realize it's all about marketing, jersey sales, etc. these days.
Was watching NFL Greatest Games over the weekend and one was the Raiders-Colts game from the 1977 playoffs. Classic uniforms, mud, dirt, grass stains...it was awesome!
