  1. He has this really cool sense of humor that makes me like him even more.  Imagine Lynch's thoughts and reaction when Nelson said, "I would have done the same thing if it was you."

This may well go down as one of the Top 5 Draft Picks in Colts history.  I can't imagine getting a better player for this particular team at this particular time, than we did with Nelson.  Yes, Manning and Luck were important picks at the time they were drafted, too.  But, we so badly needed an OL upgrade and a new attitude on the OL.  Nelson has provided both!

  2. After what Bell and Brown have done to the Steelers' there is NO WAY Ballard wants them near our team.  I know a lot of it is on Big Ben, too...but, those two have egos and it's all about them.  That's not the kind of player and presence we need in our locker room.  Football is a TEAM game and no one player is above the good of the team.

Patriots fans have sunk to a new low: shrugging this off with the "who cares what two consenting adults do?" line. THESE ARE VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING NOT WOMEN GIVING THEIR CONSENT.

Kraft can add another mark to his legacy: taking advantage of human trafficking victims.

Don't they know that it's not two consenting adults when one has to get paid to do it?

Also, I know this guy is a billionaire and can get it in other ways in other places, but I'm guessing he has some sort of kinky fantasy about going to a place like this, and that's why he's been there on more than one occasion.

Now, I doubt he's involved in the actual trafficking, etc. or he would have been charged with more than misdemeanors.

The video I DO want to see is him standing in front of the Judge at his arraignment and seeing how he explains himself.

I read that there may be other prominent names on the full list when it's released, including some religious leaders, but that was just one reference and I can't find the source or link.

  4. Well, so much for not having much to talk about between now and the start of free agency!

Reading through the comments and I know we don't know the whole story, and may never will.

But, this is serious and sad, too.  And, as some have pointed out, there's a lot of victims involved and it's not the names on that list, including Kraft.

This has become a huge issue in a lot of places and the victims (the women who are forced to be a part of this) will be damaged by this in so many ways.  This world is a cruel place with lots of evil people.

  5. Maybe they trade Ben...he seems to be the reason their stars want to leave.  If he's gone, they would have Bell, Brown and Shuster.  I'm sure they could find a QB to feed the ball to those guys.

  6. This organization has come so far in the past 2 years.  Building a great OL, Luck coming back healthy, a great 2018 draft, a coaching staff that has a vision and is putting together a young, aggressive approach on offense and defense.  We have an excellent GM, Head Coach and Owner.

These are exciting times, for sure and we're just getting started!!!

where do you think he would fit here?  i dont see him as a cover 2 mlb.  that leaves him competing with DL for the will spot.  he could maybe play the third LB spot, but we dont use that enough to bring in a high priced free agent

they could consider DE too, i think hes a good player but i dont know where to put him

Honestly, I don't know where he would fit exactly.  I don't understand defensive schemes like you guys do, I just see a LB who can rush the passer and is effective in blitzing.  I'm sure he will cost a lot of $...was just putting it out there.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  8. Jeffersonville, Indiana (metro Louisville, KY) and we get nearly all Colts games on local TV.  However, when the Colts are struggling and the Bengals are playing well, we magically get a Bengals game.  Local TV folks claim they have no choice on what game is sent by the network, but in this age of technology, I don't believe that anymore.

The end result is the Colts will be on 90% of the time.  This used to be Bengals country, but once Peyton Manning came to Indy and started winning, then this area is now much more Colts country.  The Colts make it a point to bring the pre-season caravan to Louisville, or someplace nearby to have a presence in this market.  The Bengals NEVER come to Louisville with any sort of event and that has cost them a chance at maintaining that local fan base.

I will also mention that Jeffersonville is the home of Papa John of the mega-pizza chain.  I'm not from Jeffersonville originally, so I have no allegiance to him or his sub-par "pizza" that makes me gag...LOL.

  9. I was just thinking about the #32 ranking the Colts received prior to the 2018 season.  In one post-game locker room video, Coach Reich held up a sign that read "#32" and used that as motivation and confirmation of how hard this team worked to make the playoffs.

So, with that number in mind, I sure would LOVE for us to have the #32 pick in the 2020 NFL draft as the result of our win in Super Bowl LIV!!!!

The only issue I have with the AAF is the defenses are only allowed to blitz a maximum of five guys. I understand what Barry Sears said above, but does this mean this is a temporary rule until teams can get acclimated to their coaching staff and the speed of the game? If it's for safety reasons, then I find it ironic they allow these hits on the QB:

So I don't know if the AAF is trying to promote more safety or less, lol.

I copied and pasted that info from the AAF website, because I saw penalties on the defense for illegal formation.

I'm guess limiting pass rushers is a safety concern, and it also is part of the development goal of the league.  However, even with limited pass rushers, the offensive lines need to step up, because there were a lot of hurries and a few sacks...especially the hit on the San Diego QB...he got plastered!

  11. Did some research on the defensive rules and Illegal Formation penalties and found this on the AAF website:

On defense, no more than five players may rush on passing plays.

Players that line up on the line of scrimmage are designated as one of the five players eligible to rush, regardless of whether they rush or not.

No defensive player may rush from a position of more than two yards outside the widest offensive lineman and more than five yards from the line of scrimmage (defensive pressure box). The exceptions would be play-action or run-pass option plays and if the ball leaves the tackle box.

Any player who aligns on the line of scrimmage either prior to or at the snap is designated as one of the five players regardless of whether he rushes.

A flag for "illegal defense" carries a 15-yard penalty.

This is to help protect the QBs and develop OL since most haven't seen complex defensive formations and blitzes, according to Hines Ward, Head of Player Development for the AAF.

  12. I really enjoyed what I saw in the two games I was able to watch portions of.  The offenses will catch up with more practice time and reps, too.

Does anyone know the details on the Illegal Formations the defenses were getting flagged for?  None of the announcers explained the calls, but I guess they didn't know, so they didn't try to explain.

I really believe this is a legitimate league...not the quirky stuff like other leagues in the past tried.  This league is obviously NOT competing with the NFL and seems to be trying to work with the NFL to make this a developmental league, much like the NBA is doing with the G League.

Looking forward to seeing Memphis this weekend...I picked them as my team and, of course, they get pummeled!!  I don't have CBSSN, so couldn't watch them yesterday.

  13. I watched parts of 2 of the games (SD@SA, SLC@AZ) and enjoyed it a lot.  Obviously, the offenses are slower to develop than the defense.  There was really no game tape available to prepare for the opponents, so I expect next weekend's games to be better quality.  Hard to really grade the QB's since most were hurried due to lack of pass protection.  Offensive lines need more work together.

Lots of credible people as coaches, GMs and front office personnel, so I expected quality.

I wasn't impressed by the TV announcers, especially the game last night in Arizona.  Seems they were chatting too much and not paying attention.  I'm curious about the Illegal Formation penalties on the DEFENSE.  Two were called fairly close together and the announcers didn't mention them or explain why they were called.  I'll try and do some research.

There were some technical glitches, but that's to be expected, I suppose.  However, it's not like they were being broadcast on Nickelodeon...it was CBS and NFL Network.

I'll be tuning into the games when I can...just glad to have football to watch!!
