Now I feel I need to pick a team other than Memphis.

I picked them because of the reasons stated in my comment.  I actually calculated the distances to see if Memphis or Birmingham were closer to me in Louisville, KY.  Birmingham is slightly closer, but once I looked at the rosters, I decided on Memphis.

To me, I'd root for a team that doesn't already have, or recently have had an NFL franchise.  So, I immediately eliminated Atlanta, Arizona and San Diego.

The Atlanta roster is loaded with University of Louisville players, so I will want to watch them play.

Will be interesting to see if any of these guys find homes on NFL rosters next fall.

I'll be a Memphis fan because my guy Singletary is HC there and Manning played at Tennessee. I just hope Singletary keeps his pants on.

Yep, it's Memphis for me, too...Singletary and several players from my Alma Mater, Western Kentucky.

  3. I'm not going to count the rookies, since there is not a previous NFL season to compare to this year for them.

So, with that in mind, I would consider Moore and Hunt.  But, to me, Ebron is the most improved, because he's surpassed his TD reception total this year compared to all his previous seasons at Detroit.  Yes, he still drops a pass here and there, but that has improved over his past seasons.

I think Reich and Luck have done a great job of building Ebron's confidence this season. He drops a pass, but they keep going right back to him to allow him to make catches and reduce the number of drops.  I feel like the Lions would stop passing to him after a drop.

  4. We need 2 halves like the first half we had in Houston.  We had the Texans on their heels that first half.  Not sure what happened the second half, because I know Reich didn't let up.  I think we failed to execute most of the second half, but our defense did their job to limit Houston to 7 points.

We need to score at least 30 points to stay in this one and maybe 40 to win it.

    We can do it!!!

  5. Wow...first rookie duo since Butkus and Sayers????  That's some accomplishment!

Well deserved and we know they both work their * off to prepare for games.

I imagine both will be team captains in the near future.

They have both brought an attitude to their side of the ball and we're lucky to have them.

Other than the Colts, the Saints followed by the Chargers are the teams that Colts fans will rally around if the Colts do not go all the way, IMO.  Drew Brees is a big part of that support from the Hoosier state, doesn't hurt to be a Boiler either :)

Why the Chargers?  I can see the reason for the Saints, as you mentioned.

  7. Born in 1959, so I just missed "the game" in 1958, but have seen video, including the special someone referenced that was colorized.

I became a fan with Super Bowl V when O'Brien nailed the FG to beat Dallas.  I hated Dallas (and still do) so by default I was for the Colts in that game.  The result won me over for good.  Add to that fact that Unitas attended nearby Louisville, and everything was aligned.  Now, I also followed the Steelers of the 1970's and before anyone accuses me of being a bandwagon guy, I followed them BEFORE Bradshaw and the others were on the team.

We had a US Steel factory in a nearby town and every time we drove past, I could see their sign and notice it was the same logo as the Steelers had on their helmets.  Thought that was cool and watched them whenever they were on TV.  They were pretty bad in the pre-Bradshaw & Company days, so it was great to see them draft that dynasty and win 4 Super Bowls.

Once those guys started leaving/retiring I lost interest in the Steelers, because that was a special group of players.  Was still a fan of the Colts during that time and when they moved to my state of Indiana, well, the rest is history!

Great video and these guys have done their homework! When he mentioned what separates Luck from other players he mentioned the end of third quarter and his jumping up and down reaction to pulling the Titans offside....but there was another moment in that game that impressed me about our great QB and something that I believe sets him apart from most other star NFL players.....

It's raining and Luck is scrambling and he runs out of bounds, just as he gets to the sideline he gets pushed in the back and that causes him to slip on the tarp out of bounds and his feet slide out from under him. In the process, he takes out the legs of a young member of the Titan's staff...Andrew is immediately concerned about this young man and actually tries to help him up. That is just the kind of quality human being our leader and QB Andrew Luck is....class all the way!

I also heard him ask the person he knocked down, "Are you all right?"

And to the original video posted...that Ohio State player is Malik Hooker.  We don't hear his name much, probably because he's doing his job and other teams aren't throwing his direction.
