  1. I really thought Kelly made some awful moves this past off-season that has probably led to this firing but honestly I am shocked he was fired right now. Why on earth would Philly give him all that power and then turn around and fire him? At least give him another season with a new QB and see what he could do. I do wonder if perhaps this was somewhat mutual. Maybe Kelly said go ahead and fire me as I want to go back to college. I don't know. Would be interested to see if another NFL team wants him.

Pats fans will use that, 4-2 Rings but if Peyton wins the SB it would be with 2 different teams. Something that has never been done before by a starting QB. If he goes through Foxboro and beats Tom, that is 3-1 also in Title games. Believe me that would be their worst case scenario for their fanbase. Like I said I only brought up Favre because of the Ring argument between 2 players that are comparable. If that didn't even cross your mind then I apologize. Pats fans could live with Brock beating them because it would have nothing to do with the Peyton/Brady debate. If Peyton starts and wins another SB there is definitely a debate again to who is better. Peyton has 5 MVP's to Tom's 2 and has more TD's and Yards. They want Brock to play because there would be no chance for Peyton to beat them, if you cant see that then you are naive. Every Michael Jordan fan in the world didn't want Kobe to get #6 because they know that would increase Kobe's legacy argument just to use that as an example.

Any debate ended last year when Brady beat in the SB in historic fashion securing his 3rd Sb MVP the same team that trounced Peyton 43-8 when he had the most historic offense in football. The only debate left with Brady is with Niner/Montana fans for who is the GOAT.

Or beating your team twice in the playoffs in your home stadium, and throwing a scare into you the other two times ! Lol

I know it is every team's Super Bowl when they beat the Pats. I am sure the Ravens must have a DVD titled - "The two Games of Glory" chronicling those two wins. lol.

I think we follow the Pat's because we are all amazed by the sneaky shenanigans that have occurred over the years. We are ready to be flabbergasted by the next trick that is pulled out of the hat.

Well then get your popcorn ready as you watch my team from your couch. At least we will be spared Harbaugh's whining for this post-season. :)

  5. The game last night by Brock was as impressive as his win over the Pats. Down 14 against one of the best defenses in the conference. He should have won in regulation had his RB not fumbled and his kicker shanked the FG.

Brock is going to be Denver's QB from here on out. He will start vs SD as Kubiak already named him the starter in a game they need to secure the bye and then into the playoffs. Peyton is still not healthy and Steve Young said last night he will not be fully healthy this season which we already knew so you roll with Brock and see how far they can go.

Defense wins championships.  It always has.

What role does the quarterback have on defense?

The whole "leads his to team to a championship" is a complete myth.

Defense wins championships is as much of a myth as anything else. Pats defense was plain awful the entire post-season last year except for the Colts game and cashing in on Pete Carroll's brain fart to seal Brady's historic comeback.

    Hmmm.......

I did read some stuff on it. Sounds odd.

Well have to hand it to the Jets too. Looks like they are maybe in. I am stunned over Pittsburgh, they been rolling hot for weeks and it's almost as if not cold water was poured on them.

Timing seemed odd to me. Brady has just taken them down the field to tie and the Jets defense had to be tired. Why not send offense back out in OT for the win? On the flip though, defense had stopped the Jets on third won but then got the PI call and then the pick that was not called for the big gain. It probably should have worked out for Bill.

Sure, it's a more difficult position, but that doesn't mean he has more influence.  A great basketball player can say "give me the ball and get the hell out of the way".

And Jim Plunkett and Eli are not even remotely as revered (or revered at all really) as Dan Marino, Aaron Rodgers, Steve Young and Peyton Manning.

Sure, but the poster was asking why championships in the NFL matter so much when it comes to the QB and the Hall. That is what I was answering. Winning one ring is not an automatic induction but winning multiple rings pretty much assures a QB gets in other than Jim Plunkett. lol.

A great basketball player damn near touches the ball every time....plus he hardly leaves the court unlike a QB who plays one way.  What does being cerebral have to do with it?

Basketball is based more on athleticism than cerebral like QB. Two turnovers from a QB and a team more than likely loses the game. A great b-ball player can have 10 turnovers and his team still win. There is not that margin error for the QB position. It is the hardest position in all of sports so naturally guys that lead their teams to multiple championships are revered more so than those that don't ...

A great basketball player controls the game 100x more than a QB.  I'm not a baseball fan, but I'm thinking a great pitcher does too.  Hell, get a hot goalie and you might win the Stanley cup.

And that whole measuring stick stuff is crapola.

A pitcher only pitches every 5th day so he does not control his team as much as a QB who plays every game. A great baskeball player does not have the ball in his hands every play like QB nor is his position as cerebrally demanding as a QB. I would agree about a goalie to a certain extent but he is just saving the puck. He is not asked to create plays to score like a QB.

Honestly, I don't understand why championships matter for quarterbacks and not other players, especially defensive players, since the best quarterback in the league in a given season usually doesn't win the Super Bowl.

A QBs ability to lead his team to championships has always been the measuring stick for QBs. The QB is the one player in any team sport that controls the outcome of the game more than any other. Stats do matter to a point but when you have a guy like Namath in the Hall you see the significance of a championship, one in particular that put the AFC on the map.

Its also hilarious how the patriots lost twice to the same team t, in embarrassing  fashion, in the biggest game of the year. One of which they blew their chance at a perfect season. Hilarious.

Our four rings provide a lot of solace especially last year with Brady's MVP performance and Butler's game ending pick to cap the 4th trophy, the sweetest of them all!

I would prefer a higher draft pick at this point, but sweeping the Steelers , along with the Patriots losing , was a fun day in a bad season.

I love how much fans of opposing teams follow the Pats every Sunday to try to find some joy. lol.

Has to be awful for the Steelers to get beat by Ryan Mallett. Easily the biggest upset of the season along with Carolina getting beat by a terrible Falcons team to lose a shot at 16-0. That result pretty much made my weekend besides the Pats losing a game that did not affect their playoff seeding at all.

  14. Cousins is one of the great stories of this season. He has looked great in Gruden's offense. And kudos to Gruden as well for taking the East. A worst to first turn around. Very impressive.

In terms of RG, I am sure he will get another chance with another team.

This is just you hoping beyond hope this is true.     The accuser was recorded without his knowledge and has denied the entire thing.    Peyton came out immediately and proclaimed his innocence.    The story is dead

The damage has already been done. This will follow him always and we have only just begun to get all the details ...

Ok...so then how do you explain Tom Brady coming back from his ACL? Or AP..... guess those guys also took HGH back then too.....at least according to your logic

None of them are being fingered in a drug scandal. This is all Peyton and the other athletes named.

@AM explain Peyton's 49TD's in 2004 then he fell way off in 2005 statistically. You sound ridiculous and someone that is reaching for something just to hate on Peyton.

??? He started using HGH in 2011 allegedly. Had historic star wars season in 2013 and then fell off cliff from mid 2014 when HGH testing began.

The reporter doesnt mean two craps....The source has recanted, the only source, has admitted to lying.... THe insititute where this allegedly happened has proven that the source didnt even work there in 2011...... geez

Read Peter King and the other articles out there from the reporter ... there is another side to this, always is.

You have obviously moved on from your trolling about him taking it and are now in damage control by only discussing the fact that the story still exists and lawsuits coming.  You refuse to admit its false but want to continue to post about something.

Just because you believe it is false does not mean you are correct. I have never said it is 100 true either but that it bears more investigation as there is a lot to consider from a circumstantial stand point.

Because what his wife received has absolutely nothing to do with him. This story will go away on its own whether or not Manning does anything considering both sources of this story have retracted their statements. In fact, Manning has a valid case for filing suit and will likely end up owning a portion of Al-Jazerra when its all said and done.

I am sorry to tell you but this is never going away. That is why Manning is so angry and thinking about a defamation suit.

Actually, no she doesn't. HIPAA protects against this. A sports accusation doesn't change United States law.

Spend some time on this page: http://www.hhs.gov/hipaa/index.html

I am not talking legal. I am talking perception which is what Manning is fighting here. Without knowing what she received from the clinic, this will continue to follow Manning. He knows that. The entire report hinges on what his wife received. A simple denial that she did not get HGH would make this pretty much go away if true. But he has not done that. He just keeps saying it is private but how hard is it to say she did not get HGH? That really is not disclosing anything about her treatment or medical condition if she did not receive HGH.
