They'd be better off with A.J.McCarron, IMO. They might win a playoff game.

Big Ben - first game he was rusty vs Bengals, so Bengals win 16-10. Second game, Big Ben is limited to just FGs all day despite Dalton going out. The Bengals' D can limit Big Ben to the low 20s, the big question will be if McCarron can score in the mid 20s to win.

McCarron reminds me of Case Keenum. He is a spunky guy but he does not have the arm or awareness to make the plays against top level teams. I think Pitt will eat his lunch the way Denver did the second half. I agree that Cincy's D will limit Pitt but I don't think it will be enough.

Eifert is back and I think the Bengals OL is underrated. Their OL has been rock solid against stout D-lines like the Broncos and the Ravens, IMO, in the last 2 weeks. I would not be shocked if they beat the Steelers and head to New England, contrary to popular belief.

Steelers opened as a 2 point favorite. There is a slim chance Dalton could play. Tough game to call IMO.

Ian Rapaport  in an interview said as I said earlier, Peyton is not expected to be 100% all season & doubtful even for playoffs, also said Denver Doubts that Peyton's foot can handle a full games worth of plays even if doesn't take hits and with Denver's OL that's doubtful

, interviews continues  with Billick, Mouch etc & if Peyton does play , let Peyton be Peyton, not try Kubiacks offense they say

This must be why Kubiak is hesitant to name Manning the starter. Maybe the best case is have Brock start and then have Manning come off the bench again. Not ideal but do whatever you have to do give the team a chance to win.

they have done this before to avoid the steelers

Good heavens. The Jets were the 6th seed heading into yesterday and just had to win for the last spot. The Pats had no idea at game time if the Jets would win/lose or if the Steelers would win/lose. None of the AFC seeds were set except for the 4th seed. All the Pats knew was they had the bye and therefore they rested their injured players and lost in the process.

Not true. Kubiak in all likelihood thought that the team was going to play well against a bottom-feeder team with Brock at the helm. When they didn't, the decision to go to Manning was obvious. You roll with Manning and see where he takes you as he gives them the best chance to win.

Brock played better than Manning. His team turned the ball over on him at will. it will be a tough decision for Kubiak but I believe he will name Manning the starter unless he has a set back with his foot in practice.

How is it a no-win situation by going with the QB that gives them the best chance to win in Manning? For the last time, Manning's inability to make throws was in large part due to his injury that appears to be mostly healed.

If Kubiak felt that way, he would have started Manning yesterday and already named him the starter for the post-season. It is no win because if the Broncos lose, whoever he named starter will be looked at as the wrong decision.

I do think there was some strategy to losing to the Jets....& trying to keep the Steelers out, last week. As it stood then, the Jets would have been in and Steelers out bc of that Pats' loss. But the Jets didn't do their part today by losing to the Bills. And the Steelers won. I think that the Steelers are pretty scary on offense, and Belichick knows that. He would have much rather seen the Jets in the playoffs.

Bill is only concerned with his team. He said after the Tenn game that he would be resting players these last two weeks given they secured the bye. It really does not matter who you play in the divisional if you don't have the players to compete. That being said, he should have just started Jimmy yesterday and rested Brady. That part was silly IMO. They ran the ball 20 times in the first half and only threw 5 times and then decided to drop Brady back the entire second half for more punishment to try to win the game. That made no sense. Bill has done some head scratching things this season. But on to the playoffs and hopefully getting the guys back for a run like last year.

Nobody is blinded and trust me, we don't hate Peyton...but be a little realistic here. He came in for one half and played well against a 4 win team. That doesn't mean there is no room for celebration and that fans shouldn't be encouraged...they absolutely should be. But at the same time it isn't the circumstance that I would use to say that those who doubted 'look pretty silly' and were 'proven wrong'. Today was a great day for him and for Broncos fans, but just keep grounded with the expectations here based on this one half of football, because it may be a little early to jump around and say 'I told you so' and in the end, we still may be right.

Kubiak is not saying who will start for the post-season. He is in an almost impossible situation. There is no question that Brock has the physical abilities to run his offense better but Manning is able to put the offense in better position with his audibles and up tempo offense but he can't make the throws. If it is Pitt coming in and it is cold and/or snowing it will be a tough call. I think he has to name Manning the starter and live or die with him. Better to go down with Manning than Brock. Or he could start Brock and have a quick hook. Just a no win for Kubiak with the decision. Denver fanbase is completely split as well.

Both #1 seeds go one and done

Both #2 seeds play in the SB (Cards win)

Both #1s will have a tough match up it would seem in the divisional so that could happen. I think Seattle makes it back to the Bowl vs the Pats again.

But we all know who won the game and got them the # 1 seed.   :6:

He was great coming off the bench. Was happy to see the crowd cheer for him when he came on the field. He has had a lousy year and was happy to see him get that moment and game.

Here's another one to rival that in worthlessness...

Brock Osweiler gets credit for today's Denver win over San Diego

They don't have saves in football like baseball. A pity. As that was a classic.

At this point, you have to let Peyton play into the postseason. He gives the team the best chance to win and it was almost night and day when he came in.

What if it is snowing and cold in Denver in two weeks like it was for the Pats game? That would be horrific for Peyton but you are right. I think Kubiak has to roll with Peyton but at this point I have no idea what he will do. I did not think he will pull Brock today.

  13. 20 minutes ago, chad72 said:

Brock was wronged, that's all I will say. I'm happy for Peyton not thrilled how it played out for Brock.

He was BUT Denver was going to lose with him in there. Kubiak has to make the change. Once Peyton got in there he got the offense in the right plays. It was amazing how many fumbles by Denver with Brock and none when Peyton came in. It is a shame to see Brock lose the job that way Denver had to win or drop to #5.

Who starts for the playoffs? I assume Peyton? Qb controversy for sure.

I was hoping the Jets would somehow end up being our opponent instead. The Chiefs are a pretty good team. I trust that our defense can force Alex Smith into making mistakes and turnovers. I'm concerned about our line vs the Chiefs defense too, though.

Yeah, Chiefs are red hot but they are not scoring a ton so if your D plays well than I think you can win it.

  15. 1 minute ago, Moose Of Woe said:

I think the defense is leading that team to the Super Bowl, but Peyton can do enough to help them win it. If he and the run game play the next 1-3 games like they did tonight, they'll be fine.

It might be KC's year, though. They look crazy hot.

Yeah. KC looks great. AFC is going to be tough. Hard to predict what will happen. WC weekend will be great.

  16. WC round is going to be great. Cincy really needed to see Denver lose to get the bye and Dalton back. I can't see them beating the Steelers with McCarron but their D is great so there is a chance. I think KC probably beats Houston but Houston is playing some great football right now too.

Divisional round will most likely be Denver/Pitt and NE/KC.

I've thanked the people who congratulated my team, including the ones who sent me PMs. This thread is full of sour grapes. That's fine, though. I'd be mad too, and I'm really not being snarky. Sure, let's compare starting QBs. Hoyer has played tremendously this season. As have his back-ups. All without a competent running game and one true "star" receiver.

Loved Bill's presser where he talked about winning to get into the playoffs and not backing in. His team had no quit this year despite the awful start and uncertainty at QB. Looks like you are going to get KC in the wild card round. Should be a great game.

Fitz is puzzling. Somedays he looks like a top tier QB and then in other days he looks like Charlie Whitehurst!

Bowles did a great job with him. He had a career year BUT if the Jets want to contend they have to get someone better. Revis was toasted by Watkins too, bad game from him. They are really going to regret that huge contract they gave him.

Mike Greenburg may not show up for work tomorrow.

LOL. I was just thinking that. I hate the Jets but love Greenberg. I so appreciate his passion for his team and his self deprecation as well. I can't wait to watch him tomorrow. Fitz and the 3 picks had to just kill him.
