Why don't you like him?

I hope he`s here because he`s the best man for the job, and not because of who hes friends with. Colts fans had enough of that at the end of the last regime

I think he was the 2nd choice behind Butler and have not heard to many positive things about him. Just hope this was not a desperation move

I don't know if Pagano and Manusky really know each other. Pagano's brother (John) was promoted to DC of San Diego (the position from which Manusky was fired) and recommended him

I dont know much about him to say one way or the other, besides that how about we let him get through at least his first regular eason game as our defensive coordinator before we start to judge

You just don`t get to pick whoever you want dude.

Manusky may have been his 7th choice for all we know.

But maybe also his 1st choice of those definitely available.

Pagano as head coach, I have no doubt will have HIS own D philosophy all over this Team.

And really, this 1st year will be all about teaching, culling out those that don`t fit, just turning the ship in the right direction.

Don`t you think we are at LEAST 2-3 years away from having lots of new players up to speed.

Pagano may have someone else in mind by then. Wade Phillips? ;- )

I hope the guy is a defensive genius or he's really gonna look bad with the defensive personnel we have this year. We've got some unique talent, but it will take someone with a fresh perspective to put them in positions to do what they do best. I think if he tries to fit them into traditional 3-4 positional molds, they will suck. He'll have to figure out how to optimize their strengths within a winning defensive framework. Tough job.

his 49ers record shows pretty good at stopping the run, not so much stopping the pass ...and their QB's were getting hit ... I've also read many articles that say players don't like him and he has "an abusive style". I don't know if that's true, but I've seen it repeated. I think everyone improves and learns from their mistakes and until he proves otherwise he has a fair shot at doing a great job for the Colts. I'm sure hoping for an agressive defense.

I'm a firm believer in clean slates with both players & coaches. I cannot speak to Manusky's reputation good or bad. Let's see what his teaching style is & how guys in the locker room respond to it first.

How does he discipline guys on the sidelines? Does he chastise them publicly or encourage them to shake off a blown coverage & get back out there on the field? How quickly can he dissect the opposing offense & implement a measure to counteract it? How swiftly does Manusky adapt on the fly?
