  1. NEVER FORGET - The wacky 80's

Did you ever catch a TV show called Jazz Scene USA from the 1960's? I don't know if the show was broadcast in America or Europe, but ever since I seen this clip of Barney Kessel on there, I've been so curious

    2. crazycolt1

      crazycolt1

I can't recall that show. It's been a very long time and a few years of abusing my body makes it hard to remember some things! lol

Bogie- I looked up Jazz Scene USA and found out it was a US TV show from 1962. It was a Steve Allen production and made 26 shows. There are some of those avalible on DVD.

  2. I want a new Strat, regardless of the fact I don't need a new one. It's no been 4 months since I've really played the Les Paul, I cannot get the same satisfaction out of that guitar that I can a Strat.

    1. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Tried playing it again today, meh...The only thing really going for the LP is having that humbucker in the bridge for easy crunch. That's it, but I can get crunch out of a Strat just fine using an overdrive/compressor combo.

Telecaster > Les Paul. I thought the LP could be as useful as a Tele, but it clearly isn't. At least a Tele, you can beat on it continuously and it stays in tune and can handle aggressive playing.

    2. Jules

      Jules

Also the Les Paul has the name "Les Paul" which makes everyone swooooon at times.

Your stuff with the Strat sounds good anyway. It's crunchy and fluffy and trebles and takes a hard beating and everything else in the lingo book I love to hear. lmao

    3. Jules

      Jules

You will have to keep the Les Paul though probably. It's pretty and it has sentimental value etc.

Yep I got both of them for Xmas. Going through Ruby right now. The game mechanics work a lot better than the previous one. No more stupid skates and the walking is a lot better.

  4. Swimming in a pond of mediocre to good R&B albums of the 70's that everyone forgot about or didn't care about back then.

    1. radiogirl

      radiogirl

Back in the 70's, R & R only had a few classifications of music. You were rock, pop, Classical, R & B, etc. Now there are literally hundreds of classified formats, Rhythmic AC, Hot AC, Pop AC, Adult Hits, etc. I am a huge fan of 70's hits. Great stuff was produced in that decade!

    2. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Yes great stuff was produced in that decade. There is a lot of neat funk records in the mid 70's.

  6. Still disappointed in that ending to Wayward Pines...

    1. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Matt Dillon was phenomenal though as Ethan. I feel bad for him, knowing it all led to this horrible ending.

    2. Nadine

      Nadine

he was really good. And the show got really good but then had an epic fail at the end

    3. Synthetic

      Synthetic

I been thinking about it quite a lot. Rumor has it they were trying for a second season and if that's true, well, I guess that's why they killed all the expensive good actors with that horrible ending. I'm still very disappointed. If I wanted to see the ending to Planet of the Apes, I have that on DVD.

WOW they didn't know what a cassette was? :O I'm at a loss of words. I hated cassettes so much. I never had to deal with 8 tracks, but I'm totally shocked that kids these days have no idea what cassettes are! They have it made with their digital stuff

    2. southwest1

      southwest1

I think a few knew what a cassette was, but clearly some people were at a loss for words. My favorite is still vinyl. There's just something so unique & landmark about record grooves & a needle that I love especially when the needle runs out of grooves & is over. Nothing else like it my man. I just prefer vinyl to digital sound wise I guess.

    3. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Vinyl still sounds best for outside quality though I believe FLAC has won my choice for the best audio quality as of now, just impossible to get codecs for it on ITunes and Windows media player.

    2. Jules

      Jules

No thats not my real cat, kinda wish it was though. Thats a heap of fluff I could have a lot of fun with. I used to have a real fluffy cat for many many years who died a 4 years ago. She was pushing 20 years old though. Her name was Tiffany.

Bogie has new kittens that are cute as hell. One is a little fatty too!!!

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

Age 20 for a cat is remarkable actually. Sorry you lost Tiffany Jules. Yeah, that cat on the printer looked like she owned her domain that's for sure. We don't train pets; they train us as you already know.

  9. With 9 seconds to go in the AFC Championship, Moon in the shotgun, 4th and goal from the Indy 5 yardline, takes the snap, TOUCHDOWN. 24-24. OT commences....Oilers win the toss, 3 passes put them to the Indy 45 yardline, Del Greco to kick them into the big dance, and it's wide left! Jeff George marches them down the field on 7 plays and Biasucci kicks the game winning FG from the Houston 20, and the Colts are in the Tecmo Super Bowl!

    1. southwest1

      southwest1

I love me some Warren Moon! He never gets the props he deserves IMO. But, if it comes down to Warren Moon or a Colts SB, I ride with the Colts everytime.

    2. Synthetic

      Synthetic

Warren is one of the best all time in my book, and yeah he never gets the credit he deserves. Put him in the league today with all these rules and he'd have Brees stats, probably even better.

  14. 93-1 is the record of playoff teams with a 19+ point lead going into the 4th quarter. Congrats Falcons, that is a record reserved for you and you only! And in the Super Bowl of all games! RISE UP AND CHOKE!

      Jules

BUT THE SAINTS SUCK. AND THEY RAN A BOUNTY.

      Sorry I had to. lmao

But, you still never had "the collapse" so the Falcons got the biggest eggs on their faces of all time here.

And yeah I am sick of hearing about play calling too.

Also one more thing I heard some saying HOW COULD THEY BEAT ATLANTA, the same ATLANTA WHO BLEW OUT THE PACKERS.

No it's true, people are still fawning all over the Packers as if Atlanta beat "God."

    2. Jules

      Jules

It's true though, the Packers fetish will gear up again I bet for another year of breaking our hearts. Unless they can somehow clinch homefield advantage and then everything goes their way.

    3. 2006Coltsbestever

      2006Coltsbestever

The Patriots will be the team to beat until Brady and Belichick retire, they really always have been since 2001 after they won their first SB. That team could have 10 SB Titles had it not been for Eli's Giants stopping them twice and 3 of Peyton's teams stopping them. I wonder if Falcons fans are ready to jump off a cliff yet? Up 25 points and cant close, SB Rings don't grow on trees. I am not sure what is worse, the way Seattle lost 2 years ago or the way the Falcons lost.

Unbelievable...Boston gave up 72 points in the first half. lmao

      Down by 40 points :excited:

And no, I don't pity them for being a historic team and the "worst beat down at home in the playoffs" tear jerker fest. They get no pity from me. It's like when people cry over Pittsburgh's historic home losses, who cares? Look how many championships these teams have.

    2. Jules

Yeah, I'm a bit of a Star Wars nerd myself. CBE, speaking of Return Of The Jedi, that was the coolest movie experience I ever had in the theatre because the whole crowd went awe when the baby ewok popped it's head out of the basket & cheered loudly when the 2nd Death Star blew up on screen. I got goose bumps from the collective bonding session.

I've never experienced anything like that before in my life as a movie goer & sadly, I probably never will again. It was so surreal & unforgettable.

I have two of the new remasters from 2009 and they do sound great, but there really is no difference compared to the old EMI/Capital CD releases if you have a good output stereo. I play mine on the computer, and the older discs still sound great.
