  1. The last 14 games is primarily the 2022 season. Taylor might’ve been healthy for a small fraction of those games. He suffered three ankle injuries that year. Plus, the O-Line had its worst year as well, so no where to run. When I say best offensive weapon, I’m saying when everyone is healthy and it’s the best conditions for all. Hope that clarifies….
  2. Yeah…. That sounds familiar. But it wasn’t me. But I believe I remember reading that from another poster. I try to read as much as I can here. But from time to time, thread to thread, I miss some stuff. Hey, it happens.
  3. For what it’s worth, an hour ago Utsay announced AR is probably done for the season. No decision has been made, but more consulting with various docs is needed. I believe the story is available to all on ESPN. It’s non-premium. Worth a look.
  4. Not me. But no worries. It’s often hard to remember who wrote what and when. Goodness, I hate comparing anyone to Hall of Fame players. That’s a level of greatness that most can only dream of. And for all of my defense of Pierce, I like him, I don’t love him. I base my support on his rookie year, which was good, not this year which has been disappointing. I try to be patient with young players. I preach patience in lots of ways, so I need to use it myself. I expect Pierce to improve. But there’s no guarantee. But young players typically improve and I believe in Reggie to coach him up. Pierce has to get better this year. He needs to and the team really needs him to. Hoping for better days as the season progresses.
  5. You might want to tap the breaks on that. We’re only 6 games into the season. 6 games doesn’t tell us enough to make the claim you’ve made.
  6. It’s not happening. It’s illegal for a player to get any level of ownership while playing. There’s a reason why it’s never happened before. It’s illegal. Scroll up and see the explanation from Go Colts 1888 for more context.
  7. As of today, there are two certain top 4 QBS. Williams and Maye. Others have potential and might reach that level, but it’s not certain yet. There are two premium LT’s, Alt from ND and the big kid from Penn State. MHJ still has a shot at being in the top 5.
  8. Well…. You read it right, I just wrote it wrong! What I meant to write us that I doubt Williams makes more at USC than he would as the first overall pick in the 24 draft. Bad brain cramp. Sleep deprived. Thanks for the catch.
  9. Good post…. And I’d add that I think much of the growing pains we are witnessing are the result of only playing 13 college games. I believe AR is now making the mistakes that he normally would’ve made in college, but they’re now coming at the NFL level. I’ve always thought there would be lots of growing pains this year, I just didn’t know how they would reveal themselves.
  10. ok…. Thanks. Not sure I see that. But it’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out. Yesterday was a bad loss for Williams against Notre Dame. That won’t help.
  11. I think you have mistaken me for someone else. Seriously. Honestly. Never once have I compared Pierce to Reggie Wayne. Why would anyone? Reggie is a Hall of Fame level talent. Pierce is clearly not. And never once have I combusted Pierce with Marvin Harrison. Same argument as Wayne. And I don’t use charts. I don’t link from my phone, so linking charts is impossible for me. Again, I think you have me mistaken with someone else. And since you now say you think the Colts could get a mid-late day 3 pick for Pierce, I don’t know why you added why bother. Ballard loves to trade down and collect more picks. He does so every draft. If/when Ballard and Steichen decide to move on from Pierce they will take whatever pick they can get and try to turn it into something. It might not seem like much to you, but it’s clearly something to Ballard. Again, I appreciate you and I see things differently. But I’m confident you have me mistaken for someone else. Because the views you think I’ve stated here I’ve never said or even thought at all. Never. Sorry.
  12. Forgive me…. I probably should understand the reference, but it sailed past me. You see a lot of “Levi” in him? Did you mean Levis from the last draft?
  13. If someone wants to say Caleb is the best of the most recent quarterbacks (roughly 4-5 years) then I think there’s an argument, but perhaps not a great one. But best college QB of all-time?!? No. That’s an easy no. Not even close.
  14. Thank you. I will join you in your “umm, no” about the CBS Radio guy. Caleb is not on that level at all.
  15. I think you overlooked a key word I made sure to use…. mostly. I mostly used facts vs his mostly using opinions. And even his response was opinion. The Colts couldn't trade Pierce if they tried. I seriously doubt you believe that. As for Pierce’s lack of production, even Reggie Wayne said recently the team had to do a better job of using him in the offense. And as I’m reading the threads tonight, all I’m seeing is people talking about how fast and short our passing game was today. Those don’t sound like routes for Pierce. It’s not that I don’t have concerns about Pierce. They’re just not to the same extent as some others here. Finally, I appreciate your outreach with me recently. It’s been noted and appreciated. I’m sorry I couldn’t find more common ground in this exchange.
  16. He can make whatever decision he likes, but they are not without risks. First, I doubt he makes more at USC than he does at USC. Second, even if true, he’s putting his son at risk of going back and getting injured or going back and not living up to the hype. Right now this is just posturing and bluster. We’ll know more in January when the deadline for coming out or returning to school arrives.
  17. One of us responded with mostly facts. The other responded with mostly opinion. I’ll take my facts over your point of view all day, every day. But thanks anyway. And by the way, I’m wrong plenty and have always said since I arrived here 12 years ago.
  18. Our chances of getting MHJ are very slim. I think he goes top-5, no worse than top-7. But I doubt that Colts pick that high. And I doubt Ballard trades up — way too expensive. So I don’t see that happening.
  19. It’s one of his best qualities. I think he’s the right owner for Indianapolis. He knows his community.
  20. Backups almost never have the “it” factor. They’re backups for a reason. Minshew is still a high level backup. He’s just not likely to be a very good long term starter as some here (not you) we’re saying for weeks now. He is who he is.
  21. The Colts will not tank. The Colts will try to win every game. But that may not be many as Minshew’s limitations will likely be exposed now. Sucks for the Colts. But they will not tank on purpose.
  22. And not very surprising. When you can’t throw the ball down the field, then the defense can crowd the line of scrimmage and make the running game ineffective. The two are connected.
  23. Ballard works in conjunction with his head coach. He tries to get him the players he wants. Steichen isn’t doing anything on his own. He works with Ballard, not independent of him.
  24. Yes, it is. Very legit. But scroll back up and look at the post from Go Colts 1888. He explains why it’s illegal for a player to be a part owner. Not happening.
  25. Because Taylor is the teams best offensive weapon. And from the stories I’ve been reading the person who helped get Taylor to reconsider was Steichen. He’s the person you were convinced didn’t want Taylor at all. Turns out, he really did.
