  1. Irsay got the 12th man memo from Steichen and just watching the incredible Philadelphia O. He let it slip at Steichen's introduction.
  2. Actually Irsay couldn't hold it in when he tweeted about the 12th man. It's the threat of the run that freezes a LB. Maybe often brings up a safety. Q and Smith need to bring their A game. Can't wait for those 3rd and 4th and 1's.
  3. You are weirding out. YOU are saying Steichen should have made us take Hooker because of single trait. How Chloeish! Sad.
  4. I expect Steichen to convince Irsay and Ballard which way to go. So i expect us to try to trade up. I definitely lean Richardson's way to lead us to a SB someday.
  5. I think it's sweet this guy admired that Smith was a workout warrior and noted he ran a 4.95 in a straight line. Kudos, he stuck out amongst his peers. So did Turay and Mathew Adam's, fine Colts. Why have so many here watched this noted physical specimen over the years and wanted him fired from RT? Pretty certain just 1 reason. And the reason for NO Pro Bowls. He graded as well as he did at PFF because of Q and the dominance of everything to the left of him. A year with Rivers who covered all his beats with his wisdom and quick release. Smith is a plus player but we see his troubles with speed rushers and getting out in space to make those critical blocks to spring the screen game. These are the facts and they are proven irrefutable. The draft will tell.
  6. Not as bad as the fan base saw! He stank all on his own much of the first half of the season. Under Rivers he had zero sacks. Last season 7 with 10 penalties. Then you factor in how his lack of athleticism limits our success trying to run basic plays outside. I'm glad Saturday was able to get better play out of him. But my chips are in that the plan is for him to move inside.
  7. Sadly, i think we need one more year of drafting at the top to load up with a number of really good prospects, and unfortunately we will need to work past the Leonard and Q Contracts ASAP. This based on projecting they won't be able to earn their contracts. But it is yet to be determined of course.
  8. 2006 you have as much passion as anyone here, usually much wiser than our two 20 post a day out there natterers. If you forget about your outlandish desire for certain mediocrity with Lamar, and admit that others QB ideas come with just as much or a more reasonable context as your ideas, you might find more peace. You are 100% off target that anyone is satisfied with mediocrity. Sometimes we have to accept where we are at in the moment. And over time we can criticize Ballard and his crew for their draft failures and FA misses. IMO we should be in a total reset, planning to match a young, properly balanced roster that is ready to bloom with our highly regarded Rookie QB. It's conceivable that our braintrust doesn't see him at 4. And we are in a very good position to quickly adapt if not. But why worry about it? It should be very clear the challenge is humongous to build a team able to get through the AFC Gauntlet to a SB. Maybe we trade out of the first rd for a bunch of picks and then do the Lamar deal. That would be a gasser! Guarantee him $200M for 4 years and maybe make the playoffs once or twice in the years he stays healthy, but getting our butts kicked in the 1st rd. That is what i would expect.
  9. Thanks for these two interesting, thoughtful posts. Ballard's failures in the second round have been killers. He sets the criteria for the athletes that fit his D and he gets it wrong over and over. Kwity, Obeydayo? and Cross, Pierce, Woods and Raimann all need to become VG and show that he is on a wiser path. IMO Ballard today looks easily replaceable.
  10. Put down the crack pipe Baldy, the dude is a sloth. Talk to us when he loses 25 and gets his * in shape.
  11. We are starting over offensively, so adding a rookie for Steichen to develop is a given. And there will be vets come available between the draft and camp. If someone Steichen wants pops up, CB will go after them.
  12. Gotta laugh. Ballard needs to earn Chloe's trust. After he picks Pittman just outside the 1st rd. Pierce in the middle of the 2nd rd. Campbell in the 2nd. Such buffoonery.
  13. So because You didn't see a leak of an offer that means a team hadn't put together one with interest to sign someone? Hmm! It is also possible that when we talk to an agent they could say what offer they already have and it is above our level of interest. Sometimes players have certain teams they prefer playing for. So Ballard can show interest but get shut out from the getgo. You thrive telling what should have been done. It shows a basic lack of understanding how it works. And any fan that follows our Colts closely understands that in the end Ballard and his scouts have plenty of failures.
  14. Let me fix that for you. We could have Tried to sign Hendrickson. Oh, but perhaps we did try.
  15. Stafford said he was coming here until the Rams offered him such a great opportunity. Reich was convincing believing he could fix Wentz. Reich was convinced Ryan had the juice because we guaranteed him that $12M him for year Two, and surely Reich wanted to win. Thankfully Reich is gone.
  16. There is no question he screwed up big time betting on Pryor and Pinter to do their job. Of course this happened with some very bad advice from more than one source i believe. And "they" sure fooled themselves AGAIN with their faith in Ryan to be here for at least 2 years and playing pretty good football. Ballards philosophy hasn't Looked so good the last 2 years because of the Falloff of Nelson and Kelly, and to some degree Smith. Ballard believes having a very solid, reliable run game sets up a lot of good things. Last year was with no Leonard and all the rest of the problems including coaching we bottomed. I'm hoping having a HC with a brighter mind with better philosphies, Ballard and his team do a better job drafting, adding talent.
  17. Expect us to have Chicago's pick 53 and more. CB will look to trade back some at 35 and still get who he wants. I would expect that to be one of several nice RT prospects, yes Smith moves over. Pick 53 gets us a CB. Pick 79 fills more needs.
  18. I can believe they understood his position well and offered him a big contract they believed he would turn down. They would love 2 first and move on from this high risk runner who is debateably not a top 5 AFC QB.
  19. Greedy isn't good enough in run support, and with his 15% missed tackle rate, i can see why we passed. All the remaining CB's available are flawed enough that CB may wait for trade opportunities prior to camp.
  20. Yeah right! They fired him at LT FOR CAUSE. Burrow has been a top sacked QB. Here is your leader. He stinks. "One thing has become crystal clear during the Cincinnati Bengals' 4-4 start to the 2022 regular season -- Jonah Williams is not the left tackle of the future. For starters, Williams has not improved since he's been with the team. He had his worst game of the season this past Monday night when the Browns defenders continued to blow past him and furthermore, he's surrendered the most sacks in the league with eight, per PFF. Speaking of PFF, Williams' grades there aren't anything to write home about. He has a 61.0 overall grade and sits with a 59.0 pass-blocking grade and 54.2 run-blocking grade. Not ideal for a guy the team spent a 1st rd pick on."
  21. MR. Irsay and Ballard did a Classy thing and moved him to a contender.
