  1. You cant compare that cause that wasnt even the same route.... i have one for you though, in the pats afc championship game peyton throws the ball to marvin same type of play but assante jumped it and ran for a TD... was that because marvin was tired to? lol.. you believe what you wanna believe mate.

those are two different int. asante was right there. peyton made a mistake with the throw imo. idk if marvin had done everything properly on that route but i consider it to be more peytons fault. That int was similar to the one brady threw at the end of that game.

  2. There is one thing about Peyton I have not heard discussed. He is immersed in the Colts' offensive system, which is different from any other in the league. I do not believe he would be able to just go and be plugged into any system and pick up where he left off. I think he would have to unlearn the Colts' system and give up his role of calling his own plays, etc. He may not want to do that, because it would be a struggle for awhile.

its not really the colts system anymore, its peytons. If peyton went somewhere he would just use his system and teach the other players.

  3. True...and the last time we played the Lions @ Detroit we had the Thanksgiving game...if I remember we wore our throwbacks? It was fun to watch although we beat them down handily and I think Manning threw like 6 TDs.

yea he threw 6 by the 3rd quarter. he could have had the td record if he wanted may peyton have a better performance next year :)

  4. Whoa, back up a second. I have not had a chance to see any highlights from last night's game, so I know nothing about what happened. First of all, did the Steelers lose? If so, then, wow. I guess I believe that a little easier if Ben was out for a good portion of the game, but what exactly happened there? When did he go out? Did he not return? Does anyone know what the injury was, and is it going to keep him out of any more games?

I did see some kind of headline on Yahoo that James Harrison might get fined AGAIN for another vicious hit. Anyone know anything about that?

no steeler's won. ben went out with 5 mins to go in the 2nd quarter. returned at start of second half. he didn't need to though. browns never scored again. ben threw a late td pass at the end of the game, it was really only like 12 yards but it was high, antonio brown had to jump up in the air to grab it, and the defender just flat out fell down, and brown then ran about 80 yards for an easy td. harrision hit with his helmet mccoy in the fourth. mccoy returned after a play or two. turns out mccoy had a concussion though, and mccoy's father today is blasting the browns for letthing him play.

    that about sums it up.

  5. Peyton's total qbr in his playoff games the last two seasons:

Peyton Manning, IND W 20-3 vs BAL on 1/16/10: 85.7

Peyton Manning, IND W 30-17 vs NYJ on 1/24/10: 83.9

Peyton Manning, IND L 31-17 vs NO on 2/7/10:

    75.5

    Peyton Manning, IND L 23-17 @ SD on 1/3/09: 67.5

Brady's total qbr in his playoff games the last two seasons:

Tom Brady, NE L 28-21 vs NYJ on 1/16/11: 9.9

Tom Brady, NE L 33-14 vs BAL on 1/10/10: 4.1

    Source: http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr/_/year/0/seasontype/3/type/alltime-game/page/2

    About says it all.

  6. No..

    That is a blessing!

    Aw, jeez....

Well, that's gonna require a new coaching staff.

    That's a positive thing.

getting rid of Caldwell would be a huge mistake. We can't win without that trademark "blank stare". Wait, maybe it's we can't win WITH that blank stare....

  7. thats not true at all, in the first jets vs pats game revis had moss's number the whole time and he got no play... but in the second game moss had a better game.. it just varies.. there is no doubt wayne wanted to show out he was just outplayed in that game and that happens to every player.

You can't bring up moss, moss was known for shutting it down. He could be brilliant one moment then the next he wouldn't give it his all, all during the same game sometimes.

  8. And so you know Smiito, I'm not saying brady is garbage, he is good, very good. But all of his playoff success mostly came when he was being carried by a stellar defense and had a clutch kicker when it mattered most. Since spygate and the patriots defense not being as amazing as it used to be, brady hasn't done much.

  9. You either dont know what your talking about or you just dont wanna admit that it was peytons fault for throwing the ball too soon... sooo many QBs do that, Orlovsky did it to wayne in the pats game last week and before wayne could even turn around the ball was on him and he caught it for a 1st down.

Are you trying to imply that wayne was lazy on a route... for what? because he wasnt getting the ball? if you have seen wayne and the type of person he is you wouldnt say or think that.

I don't know if wayne was lazy or not on that play, but speaking to his character on the field...he can be taken out of a game. revis made it look like wayne wasnt even playing in that jets game last year. wayne was never open, which leads me to believe he wasn't giving it his all. revis is good, but all the probowl receivers he faces can at least get open on a few plays, some can even make revis look like a fool.

  10. And peyton was much better in that sb than brady was in his first. Brady won a sb without doing much in the game at all. 17 points came from a short field because of turnovers and and 7 points came from an int returned for a td. Mr. Clutch kicker did most of the work for the win as well as the pats d.

  11. It wasn't his best game, and his effort on the Pick six was worse than they play you just described, but it was pretty weak then too.

That was one of the rare times i wish Peyton actually had speed, like Aaron Rodgers or Big Ben, so he could have stopped porter. I doubt our d could have stopped them though. Brees was just carving us up the whole second half.

  12. Exactly.. now whether Reggie was hurt or not. that can be argued. The fact that his route wasn't his typical route can't. If he would have run it at full speed, it's incomplete at worst. If he runs the combo route off of it, it's 6 points, so not only did the DB get lucky, that paired with Wayne's poor effort resulted in the ball going the other way. Don't worry though he's been educated on this numerous times, but he fails to grasp it.

I'm still mad wayne didn't haul manning's last pass of the game in for a td. I don't know if wayne loss all his spirit after the int, but wayne should have came up with the td.

  13. How do you know the Pat's game is prime time? You haven't seen the schedule because it is not out yet...we only know which divisions were are playing at this point.

I think supermecoltsfan300 had some pretty good guesses there...we might not get Thanksgiving though because of our record.

I thought that initially but if you recall the dolphins played the cowboys this year. And so did sf. did anyone actually think they would be good teams this year? so i think we have a chance. I hope we do get that game, would be fun to root for the colts on Thanksgiving.

  14. :) lol Those arent even close at all... do you know how many times peyton has actually thrown the ball with the CB sitting and jumping on the route? i cant BUT i can tell you that its been a plenty of times.. that INT was not Waynes fault it was peytons for not seeing the Corner jumping the route or seeing the corner backed off instead of Man coverage... collie was open but peyton went on a hot read and looked only at wayne.... so yea that "throw" was his fault.

the corner hadn't jumped anything before peyton threw it. wayne did not run the correct route too. and in the afc championship when brady could have led his team down to win the game, he threw the game-sealing int, a horrible int. qbs throw ints.

And sometimes incompletions are ints but just aren't caught. brady threw about 3 int during his streak last year, but the defender just flat out dropped them.

  15. You forgot the 28tds 19ints for manning

    and 28tds 15ints for brady

I mean when it all comes down to it TD's are what that matter... peyton has actually colts more games with his INT's than brady, none greater than the last superbowl.

you are wrong in your stats. brady has better numbers than that..lol..don't know why i'm helping you make your case...

brady has 30 tds, 16 ints. have to remember that 30th td came against the jets when the came was over and they were just letting brady make completion after completion because the game was over.

  16. You forgot the 28tds 19ints for manning

    and 28tds 15ints for brady

I mean when it all comes down to it TD's are what that matter... peyton has actually colts more games with his INT's than brady, none greater than the last superbowl.

int are the same thing as incompletions at the end of the game. brady didn't drive his team down to win either in his sb loss at the very end (and by very end, i mean the final drive of the whole game). he had a shot and didn't do it. if he had thrown an int instead of an incompletion at the end, it would have been the same thing. manning's int also wasn't really a bad play at all. more of wayne screwed up a little. but overall that was just a great play by porter.

  17. and that doesn't even include all the drops/tipped balls his recievers have had in the playoffs. Peyton's recievers normally have the drop-off not him. With that said, peyton did have struggles early, but those teams played in some bad conditions and his receiving core was not really good in those conditions. that is peyton's fault but also his receiver's.

  18. That is 100% true.

Manning's regular season QB rating is 94.9

Brady's regular season QB rating is 96.1

Brady's playoff qb rating is 85.7

Manning's playoff qb rating is 88.4

Brady drops over 10 points. Manning drops 6.5

    YPG

Manning regular season 263.. jumps to 283 in PS

Brady regular season 246... drops to 231 in PS

    CMP %

    Brady's 63.9 drops to 62.2

Manning's 64.9 drops to 63.1 So those 2 are essentially the same.

So again, Brady has a bigger playoff drop off than Peyton Manning does, and look you don't even have to type it all out...

    this ^_^

  19. Yeah the list was of teams that lack continuity at QB, and some of the pieces on the team, that could be brought to Indy to help the Colts!

I could see Pete Carrol wanting either Luck or Barkley, after all, they wanted Kolb or Palmer this offseason, so I am not sure why they would go after Campbell who is Tavaris Jackson 2.0! Now I said a few months ago, I would like to see the Colts grab Flynn and let him sit under Manning, I think he has a lot of upside!

Everyone is taking their talents to South Beach, so don't rule Miami out!

Washington could most certainly come into play! They need a QB, and they would have to give up picks and players for Luck, Landry, Coefield, would be the top the Colts could want..Orakpo and Kerrigan as well, making the switch to DE, if the Colts let Mathis walk, this could be a replacement! Kerrigan grew up a Colts fan btw!

McCoy looked "TERRIBLE" last night- in charles barkley's voice.. A lot of people think Holmgren doesn't trade up, but to get your franchise QB, on an up and coming young team, I could really see him packaging their draft picks together!

Kansas City is another up and coming young team, now they may be opposed to giving up Berry and Flowers as well as draft picks, but they played the season without Berry anyway.. So I don't think its impossible.

Denver- Elway wants a guy like Luck, he an Fox pretending they like Tebow is all a front because they are winning.. the circus can't go on forever! Value wise, they have Dawkins, Bailey, and Von Miller (They won't let leave).. so they would have to package draft picks!

Freeman has really digressed, they have lots of young talented pieces on the defense, including Price, McCoy, and Talib! As well as draft picks!

I agree with your Jets analysis, If Colts go Luck, Peyton could very well end up in New York, and thats a Super Bowl team!

San Francisco is very realistic, I could see Harbaugh going to Balke and saying we need Luck! Reuniting them together, would begin a journey of a strong organization.. so I can really see San Fran making a move! With their success , this means the Colts will be picking late in the draft in the first round like they are accustomed to with the trade back, but they would give up a lot if they went in on Luck, imagine Willis on the Colts! Even Bowman the other inside linebacker is a freak, he could probably play SAM on the Colts! Then Justin Smith playing DT..possibly Whitner coming as well at SS.. that sounds very inticing of instant impact players, at multiple areas of weakness. Then Imagine the Colts draft Te'o with that first round trade down selection.. You have Angerer, Te'o, Willis or Bowman at linebacker! That would be a SERIOUS unit. With Nevis and Smith at DT..wowww, Bethea and Whitner, draft a corner to pair with Powers, this could be an intense defense!

I really don't see the following teams at all in the conversation of the first pick: cleveland, tampa, jets, and sf. all have qbs who are still learning and who's head coaches are going to back them up for at least this season.

  20. thats not very true at all, i actually had the stats written down on here but i accidentally hit the back button and im not typing that again.

actually it is true. the difference between brady's passer rating in the regular season and the playoffs is bigger than the difference between manning's passer rating in the regular season and the playoffs. when you check your stats you will see that is true.
