  1. Yeah but that one game he looked almost better than Rodgers. I think he's the real deal. Name another backup QB that can do that. He deserves a starters job. Are we looking at another Jeremy Lin?

I think he did so well because of the talent around him. Rodgers is good but he looks a lot better because the players on offense are really explosive. It's almost like Cassel in the Patriots O. He did well but that was mainly because of they system and having Welker and Moss. He's really nothing special. His one nice year in KC was because of Bowe having a tremendous season and Cassel making safe throughs and never throwing deep really to anyone but Bowe.

  2. I'd still say there's no guarantee Luck will be great. Of the 20 qbs, I'd say only 8 qbs have shown the potential to be really good if they havn't shown it already: Palmer, Eli, Rivers, Rodgers, Ryan, Flacco, Stafford, and Newton. The others have not been a top 16 qb in this league, which you really expect a top qb taken to be. With that said, Luck and RG3 look to be capable of having success in this league.

  3. I really wish nfl films would let you subscribe to a service where you could watch every game. I've only ever seen highlights of Young vs Kelly and Bledsoe vs Marino. It would be awesome to watch these games in full length.

  4. Marshal said it a few posts above, Manning wouldnt waste everyones and his own time. IMO if Manning is training he is gonna play next year, where remains to be seen. I would like it to be in Indy, and thought most in here would too which is why I shared what I heard.

Yeah, thanks for sharing. Manning seems to have continuous improvement, albeit it somewhat slowly. There hasnt been any set-backs lately so hopefully he'll be 100% soon. Whatever happens, hope he destroys the league next year on whatever team he is on.

  5. Memory escapes me but i can't remember last time a cornerback took their team to a super bowl.....it was, it was, oh wait....never mind

There was this guy called Dieon Sanders who got the 49ers another Sb Ring.

Trade the pick, draft a competent back-up, redo contract with Peyton, and win SBs now and in the future.

  6. That makes the most sense to me. The smartest option is to trade the pick because of the bounty we would get for it. Then draft Tannehill and have him learn from the goat while we use the picks to give manning and tannehill some help. Manning is willing to redo the contract but he wants to know he'll play for 3-4 more years if healthy. With Luck, Manning knows that wont happen. Yes luck seems like he will be good, but do people really think he'll produce more than Manning while Manning is still in the league? Let a backup like Tannehill learn and then surround him with talent from the trade.

  7. Solid list. I would throw in the Cards/Packers playoff game from a few years ago. Neither defense was doing anything, so it was all on the offenses and the QBs to win the game. Funny how in the end, a defensive play won it

Yeah, I actually meant to put that game. Accidently typed Brees vs Warner, instead of Rodgers vs Warner. The sudden second half comeback is what made it so great. Seemed like it was over early, but then touchdown after touchdown.

  8. On nfl network I was watching an episode of Top 10 and they were doing the best quarterback duels. What are your guys top five qb duels you've seen?

    My top five would be:

    1. 2009 Manning vs Brady.

    2. 2006 AFCCG Manning vs Brady.

    3. 2011 Brees vs Rodgers

    4. 2009 NFC Divisional Playoff Game Brees vs Warner.

    5. 2009 Stafford vs Quinn (The finish was amazing).

  9. I don't think Peyton will be back as a Colt and I hope he doesn't come back. I'd rather see Peyton go to a team that has a competitive chance to win the Super Bowl. This whole thing is getting messy, hopefully Irsay will just come out and say the truth, he doesn't want Manning back. Then both sides could move on. The colts are many years away from being able to compete for the Lombardi. It's time to let Peyton go to a team that doesn't need to be carried every year, and let the Colts go through their long rebuilding process.

  10. I know for a fact 100% some players are thinking about next years draft. Not saying who but there are a few guys who do.

Those players are lacking intelligence. No one is safe, so why would you worry about a draft for a team you might not even be playing for. and the draft also means that your job is in jerparody as a replacement could be drated. i dont think the smart players are concerned with getting the first pick or not. i think they care about winning and playing well so they have a job.

  11. Suddenly, the Luck pick becomes more valuable for other teams. This means we would get a king's ransom for him, and we'd be the most foolish franchise in NFL history to pass on such offers.

But the colts would pass on the ransom. however i think we will end up with the third pick. the 2nd pick might also get a solid ransom since only rg3 is left with barkley n possibly jones returning.

  12. If you were there and didnt watch on TV.....you missed the TV shots of Peyton Manning on the sidelines... priceless

...the announcers said..he tries to stay away from the QB...

(of course.. 2 minutes later they show him talking to Orlovsky)

You could see him talking to Reggie about how he'd be getting the ball to him...

then he's talking to Saturday...about old times.. I guess.

..and where Houston caught the deflected pass...he almost fell over...

    very entertaining...

there was also a moment in the game when dan went to the sidelines. there was peyton in the middle. clyde on the right. and some guy with a clueless expression on his face. dan is waiting to get the play. peyton talks to him and uses his hands. clyde just sits there with the play chart covering his face and just lets peyton do all the coaching. we all know who is in charge but it is still funny ti see it on tv. and peyton's reaction to that third down deflection was perfect....it showed how i was feeling at that moment too.

  13. I'd also like to see us get into the 6-foo7 basketball 'power forward' tight end business...

Everybody loves Dallas Clark...but he's missed most of 2 seasons now...

....We could use a big tall pass catcher for goal line situtations

Exactly. a tight end like gronkowski or grahm would make our o almost unstoppable. the nfl has not yet figured out a way to stop those type of guys. clark has been very good for us but he is getting up there. if the te could also block well our running game would be much improved. a wr, og (or ot moved over), qb, dt, cb, and te should all be addressed in the draft or in free agency.

  14. I think we'd be 6-9.....

    (KC, Cleve, Jacksonville and Tampa)

kc and tamp im not sure. painter played his best thise games and we still lost. Unless dan's best is much better i dont think we would have won. Dan helped us win the last two games but the d has only allowed 13 and 16 points in those games.

  15. No..we have to stop this nonsense about carrying 2 QBs because one is invincible...

I think we proved this year..we need 1.) an instant in-game backup in case of injury

...and 2.) a future starter in the pipeline..

dan would be a great 3rd string qb. probably be the backup for manning most of next season till the qb who we draft this year is comfortable in our system.

  16. Yeah..we don t have any issues...

From what I can see..Blackmon is a stronger, younger faster version of Wayne...

..and we can get him and Kellen Moore later...and maybe fill our DB needs in the second round

We cant sign Reggie for 2 of 3 years...He's a great guy but..no

Remember how Marvin Harrison looked in the final days???

I could be getting fooled but our secondary suddenly looks adequate..

we are almost on the exact same wavelength about all of this....

i think im seeing them as adequate too...still i want cb help by the third round because i dont trust lacey against brady, brees, or ben. want a player too that can cover well against gronkowski and miller. maybe that is a safety or anoher cb. just want a football player that can fill that role.

  17. Supreme...

I agre 100% on Kellen Moore...He's a perfect fit behind Manning....and he KNOWS he wont play right away/

But he's a sawed-off Drew Brees.....folks are missng out on him...

But have a team that can make plays in the playoffs...

We still have the 2009 squad.......

Remember..50% of the starters are the same as 2009..

I think the rebuild can hold off for 2 or 3 years while we go for the title...

As long as we can win 10-12 games a year....we are 2 games away from the Super Bowl...

Resign Reggie...and Saturday and Mathis ....draft a couple of 'shovel-ready' projects and lets not quit on this group...

Dont blow up 13 good years because of 13 bad weeks..

i think we mostly agree. i want to draft blackmon. let wayne go. imo that is rebuilding while also not hurting our chance to win, maybe even improve it. by year 2, i think blackmon would be better than wayne at age 34 and his timing with manning would he better.

  18. You're missing the point. This is not about Luck, it's about the value that the first overall pick has this year compared to drafting 2nd or 3rd. If we win against the Jags, we likely lose out on that value.

    That's the point.

we will not trade the first pick. polian and irsay have pretty much confirmed this. they would take luck. if u dont want luck then u dont want the first pick. its that simple.

  19. I

We have a lot of emotion at home..Thursday was almost unbelievable for a 1-13 team..to get support like that..

It was about Danny O and Reggie and there was dram,a with the Texans..

...I'll not sure we'll be 'up' much after nine days off ..

..and the Jax have the emotion...For some of them..its their final game there/

i disagree with who has the emotion. colts have all the momentum and are playing hard to end the season as winners. jax looks like a team that is checked out.

  20. Its not just winning about the division, its about building a team that can make plays in the playoffs. we need to rebuild. imo rebuilding is doing what u said. using the draft picks to get great players now (that will still be on the team in the future) and also agressively attacking free agency. maybe dont resign wayne but grab blackmon. that frees up money for free agency. Draft a qb project like foles or moore. we can rebuild and win at the same time as long as we have Mr. 4-time MVP.
