  1. Looking at today's OTA pics, there's a photo with Toler, Bethea, Butler and another player and Toler is in a walking boot. Anyone have any Idea of what wrong? I hope nothing major.

It must have been an end of day precaution. OTAs (for this week) ended yesterday so I reckon it was yesterday afternoon?

  2. From George Bremer...

the clear defensive MVP on Wednesday was cornerback Greg Toler. The fifth-year veteran, signed away from the Arizona Cardinals to replace Jerraud Powers, broke up passes intended for tight end Coby Fleener and wide receivers Darrius Heyward-Bey and T.Y. Hilton during red-zone drills. He showed the athleticism and instincts that made him an offseason priority for general manager Ryan Grigson. “We’re really happy with Greg,” defensive secondary coach Mike Gillhamer said. “He’s coming here with a great attitude. He’s so powerful. He might be the big-game cat, like a cheetah or something. He’s just so powerful and can spring, and his attitude’s been awesome. He’s been everything that we hoped he’d be.”

"I think it’s great to get out on the field with the defense and troubleshoot some stuff," he said. “Obviously, I guess all of us haven’t run this offense, we ran so much stuff at Stanford. To get out there with the defense and to feel the offense, to troubleshoot some stuff is good. Just to be out on the field with the guys going against something other than air is fun........"He just goes out and plays and doesn’t realize how young he is and just has had a nice camp,” quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen said. “Everything I said last year, he’s bright, he’s on it, he enjoys it. There’s a guy who loves football and couldn’t be around here a ton (in the offseason) so we’re pleased where he is."
  4. LOL!!!

Reggie will be the starting Right Outside Wide Receiver.

DHB will be the starting Left Outside Wide Receiver.

T.Y. will be the starting Slot Wide Receiver.

All of them (like every other WR and TE that we have) will be used differently depending on what packages are being run. That doesn't somehow change game day line-ups/rosters. Oi... :shifty:

  5. They sign DHB to be the 3rd reciever, they brought him in to be the big outside deep threat. there is no way they take T.Y. out of the slot...

The "slot" is traditionally the 3rd receiver. I know some folks try to muddy the water and pretend those designations don't mean anything anymore but that is silly nonsense. If DHB was brought in to be a big, outside, deep threat then he is the 2.

I liked T.Y. in the slot last season, he did well. Just not understanding how anyone could possibly see him as our 2 this year. ;)

  6. Guys, I see DHB on this team in 5 years just as much as Hilton. He (Hilton) is a little burner that fit Arians' mold. Not holding that against him but I did not see anything out of him last year that demands he be a Colt for life. He's a slot receiver. That's it. And if we're ever in a position where he is our 2....then IMO we made some personnel mistakes somewhere along the line. Just where I'm at right now. Hope he changes my mind.

  7. Cody wrote it on rant...

    http://www.rantsports.com/nfl/2013/05/21/t-y-hilton-will-be-dangerous-as-likely-number-two-receiver-for-indianapolis-colts/

"For the 2013 season, Hilton is likely to see his targets increase from last season. In terms of percentage of targets in 2012, Hilton ranked third on the Colts behind Wayne and Donnie Avery. With Avery no longer being on the team, though, that’s likely to put Hilton in the number two receiver spot..."

    ???

The 2 is obviously DHB's. Is anyone else seeing T.Y. Hilton beating out DHB for the 2? Or even assume T.Y. is the heir apparent?

  8. To pile on a little bit (just joking, OK?), should Brad also apologize to his readers for misinforming them on Werner's participation in the OTAs? This off season must be really boring.

He should. But he won't. He'll obliquely swipe at us for not sending him an e-mail about it and then say whatever.

  9. Upside, like when Hall-of-Fame head coach Bill Parcells referred to Roethlisberger as the best QB prospect since Dan Marino?

LOLOL!!! Yeah fail. The big Tune hyped up Tony Romo too. How'd that work out?

As for "dumbing down" the playbook, please provide a link to support that claim.

Oh please, this isn't an episode of law & order. Go find your own links. Everyone knows your boy had a dumbed down playbook his rookie year and is generally about as bright as Gary Busey. He called Haley's playbook the Rosetta stone and then admitted to calling Arians plays during games instead. heck in 2010 his teammates didn't even elect him as captain.

Take away the ground game and defense and you get exactly what the Steelers had last year: a spot on the couch come playoff time.

Your boy is a brick. Get over it.

  10. 1.  Besides "draft day decisions" -  What was former Colts GM Bill Polian's BEST decision for the Colts franchise ??

Brought a steady, deliberate, unapologetic, winning attitude to the franchise.

    2.  Besides "draft day decisions" - What was former Colts GM Bill Polian's WORST decision for the Colts franchise ??

    Twofold answer

1a. Having TOO MUCH input on personnel decisions during the undefeated season.

1b. When the backlash came for the decision to forgo the undefeated season (and after years of making sure not to show any direct opposition toward fan sentiment) he lobbed the fans in with the media when he pushed back against the criticism. IMO that is when he lost the majority of fans and his diehard defenders (definitely when he lost me)...and after that, it was only a matter of time.
