  1. Very well put and worth bumping.

Steeler game, Dungy pulled players out early 3 prior games before the playoffs that year I believe.  They were rusty , that was coaching error.   10 SB, lets see, dropped pass by Garcon and D couldnt stop NO.  You cant put those playoffs on Peyton, maybe the NE game in the snow but none of the others.

  2.   I figure you read this forum so I'm creating this thread because it is about time someone sticks up for what YOU'VE done for this organization.  Which, incidently, is much more than even Peyton has done for it..

    I've got your back.

Your style is so refreshing for the league.  Sure sometimes you tweet or say things without fully thinking them through, but you always speak from your heart.  And that BIG heart of yours is in the right place.

People seem to forget how this organization was on the up before Peyton ever got here.  Remember 1995 and 1996?  Jimmy Harbaugh did a pretty nice job.  Peyton certainly had the weapons on offense to "win the big one".  More offensive weapons than the teams that beat us.  Plus, last year's exit in the first game to Baltimore looked ALOT like the majority of our playoff games under him.  Kinda embarrasing the "experts" didn't notice that.  Also, I remember a certain game in NE that we only posted 3 lousy points in.  Who are we gonna blame that on?  Too many interceptions in the playoffs too.

What you said recently hit the nail on the head, its just a shame nobody has the guts to acknowledge Peyton has faults.  While I really don't think you were directng the comments toward him, he HAS to take some of the blame.

Now, I'd like to clarify that I LOVE Peyton and what he did for the organization.  He was my favorite Colt since Bert Jones really.  I respect his game and him as a man.  But he's just a man, not a god.

My loyalty is to the Colts, not one player.  While I still watch and record every game Peyton still plays, I want "my" Colts to take him to the "woodshed" this week.  Its not personal, its football.

To sum it up, it is very clear how much you love this team and how hard you have worked (and PAID) to bring talented players, coaches, and staff in here to win a Super Bowl.  IT WORKED!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!  The 2006 season has given me memories that money (at least my money) couldn't buy.

You've brought honor to "the Shoe" and I'm very sure your dad is very proud.

Keep up the good work, and please don't change for others.

After all, it is YOUR TEAM.

Keep your head up dude, you've earned it.

    Thanks again,

    The WoolMagnet

(a proud and happy Colt fan in Pennsylvania)

Just to address a few things,   it takes a team to win a SB, not one player.  As far as the game last year with Denver and Baltimore, it did look like all the other Peyton 1 and dones.  But NOT because of Peyton.  The D stunk, they couldnt stop Baltimore at all, just like the D stunk in Indy.  Also I take exception to your thinking that Indy was on its way back before Peyton.  They get lucky in 96 and only because of Peyton did they have any chance at being a great team.  Without him the Colts would have never been in the thick of it year after year.    He built that stadium you guy's sit in as far as Im concerned and he deserves nothing but respect by the people in Indy.  I do think that Irsay did the right thing because the Colts D schemes never worked and the team needed a new approach.  Colts arnt ready to win a SB yet so Im glad Peyton is in a position to win multible SB's.  He deserves it because he's the GOAT.  It was the right move to get Luck and fire Pollian.  I love the balance that they are striving for.   Ive been a Colt fan since before many of you were born and after Unitis and maybe Bert Jones, the Colts had no one.  Harbaugh was no where near these two and was no PM.  I lived being a fan of one of the worst franchises in the NFL until Manning.  he brought football back to me.  Thanks Peyton, and go get a coupl more SB's

  3. I just don't see it happening. I know there are some fans who adamantly felt that moving on was the right thing, but I don't think many fans were happy to see him go. Regardless how you feel about his legacy or his accomplishments, I don't think there's anything but respect for Peyton Manning among Colts fans.

I would be highly disappointed if anyone was dumb enough to boo Manning next week. That would really, really irritate me.

I agree with that,  Peyton built that stadium.  He deserves respect.

  4. Am I being asked to disarm a bomb here? Just Kidding! But, this procedure sounds way too complicated if you ask me. I have too cords & cables to contend with in my life already. Why would I want to add more into the mix? Thanks for the assistance though luvdacolts67.  :hat: This scene from the film "Lethal Weapon 3" popped into my head regarding the red, white, & blue cable remark. [1 minor swear word spoken here.]

Seriosly, It isnt very complicated.  only 2 ways to connect any device to DVR is through either HDMI cables(which alowwes best picture) or component cables.  either red, yellow and white or better cables which are blue , red and yellow.   You cannot use HDMI cables to record so hook up recorder with the other cables.

  5. Directv and Tivo boxes (and I would bet the rest) are essentially Unix computers. There are things all over the internet about how to "hack" them (and it you are skilled at Unix and have a Unix PC you might have options not available to most of us), but I don't remember reading about a factory option as simple as what you describe. I think that some come with ports allowing you to add an additional hard drive to expand or extend your recording capabilities, and in fact you can attach that drive to your pc (or even remove the internal drive from your DVR and install that in your pc) but what I don't know is whether the data will then be accessible to your windows or apple OS. I know that you can test the drive to make sure it functions, or reformat the drive to be usable in your computer, but I suspect that you can't just copy the data since it's indexed under a foreign operating system. Could be wrong of course.

You can add a SATA hard drive with up to 2 Tera bytes.  I use one on one of my DTV DVR.   SATA is different than hard drives you by at best buy or Fry's.  You can order it through amazon

  6. The easiest way to do it is to get a DVD player/recorder.  They're pretty cheap, and it's as simple as selecting your source and hitting record, just like the old VCRs.

Your DVD will hold about 2 hours of video so you'll have to pause the recording during TOs and commercials.  My DVD recorder is not BluRay (I don't even know how much those costs, or the cost of the blank BluRay disks) so when I record a high def game it's standard def on the DVD.  When you get the Sunday Ticket, they give you the entire game, every play, in a half hour.  I have a bunch of those.

If you're talking about recording the game on your computer, there are ways to do it but the easiest would involve a tuner card.

You are not using the HDMI cables Ill bet

  7. Can anyone help me with this? And no it's only prohibited if I sell it which I won't. I'm only doing it so I can re-watch our games in later years.

What is the easiest way todo it and what equipment do I need?

Here's how you do it, first off, you have to have a DVD recorder. second, you CANT use HDMI cables because direct tv stopped it.  You can use  the red , white and yellow cables however.  This is the key to being able to do it.  You wont get the best quality but if you have a 240 hz tv, it helps.  Plug cables from DVR into DVD and then DVD recorder into TV and go thru your tv inputs to find the recorder.  You need to be able to watch tv through the recorder.  Some of the new DVR's only have HDMI and that would be a problem.

  8. know its an excuse, but did Polian every really give him a balanced team, maybe just to much pressure placed on him, he led alot at tail end of a playoff game and then D with little time left often let us Colt fans down,

also only year we got healthy at end was year we won

somehow I think if Polian built a balanced  monster like Chuck is we'd / hed of won more, of course thats speculation

You have hit the nail on the head,  I believe that the Colts wasted the GOAT with the way they built the team.  Too small and always injured.   I love what Pagano and Grigson are doing.  I think Luck will win more SB's and will be a great QB but never as good as Peyton.  The Colts are finally going in the right direction IMO.

  9. It's shock value, I saw a link to the story on my facebook page from the NFL's facebook page and it had a picture of Manning and it said "MANNING OVERRATED?"  In other words they are trying to draw traffic to their webpage and this story by putting this in there.

That's the kind of media world our world is in right now.  It's all about getting people to look at what you are writing and listen to what you are saying more than it is what you are writing or what you are saying because of that shock value works.

Thats a very good point.  The media is in such a sad state,

  10. Well sure they *can*.

But will they? I would say no they won't. I think some things would need to happen such as us the Texans losing Foster/Schaub and not having their depth work out so we win the division and somehow get a bye in the first round; and then in the playoffs we would have to get fortunate and slip by people even at home.

I just want another playoff appearance and win. This is not our year to win a super bowl, it's really not. But we are getting close to the year when people will say it's our year.

I do think we are one of those few teams that can show up on any given sunday and beat anyone if they aren't careful. Anyone. Elite offenses, defense, anyone. That's a good thing bc there are only 2 or 3 or 4 teams in the entire league who can do that who aren't juggernauts.

Its Peyton's year this coming season.  Colts will be in it in 2 more years.

  11. What I'm about to write may not work for many fans....    might not even work for most fans.   But, it works for me....

But winning a Super Bowl is incredibly hard.   Perhaps the toughest championship to win in U.S. team sports.

So -- for me --  as long as my favorite team (in this case, the Colts) is really trying to win, then I'm OK if they fall short.   But if I thought the franchise was only trying to be competitive and was not seriously trying to win,  then they would quickly not be my favorite team.

If I thought the owner and front office were just trying to make sure they were making money and keeping the stadium full, but weren't really serious about winning,  then they'd lose me as a fan.

I've thought that off and on about teams like the Bengals, and the Bears and the Chargers, and the Jets....   and a few others.     Things chance and evolve over time.

As long as the franchise is committed to winning,  I'll support them.   But less than that?    No thanks.

The journey is everything.....   even when you can't reach the destination.

Just one fans viewpoint......     of course,  your mileage may vary......

That describes the AZ Cardinal's It also describes the Colts Prior to Manning and JiM Irsay JR.  The easy years are when we arnt expected to win but are building a team that will get there.  These early Luck years are easy.  Its when we shoulld win and we dont ,that makes it hard.

  12. I do think this era will be more successful, but I say that because of our GM and HC, not the QB.  I think our HC will continue to build a more aggressive, "play with any score" defense instead of the "play with a lead" defense of the previous regime.  I also think our current GM will be much more focused on maintaining a solid offensive line.  I wish Manning could have been playing for the current FO and coaching staff, but that's not the way things worked out.

I agree, Manning is the GOAT but he had terrible front office and coach's  he would have won more SB with Pagano and Grigson
