  1. I'm sure someone in the mid-80s at some point said "how many super bowls can Dan Marino win?" it's certainly possible Luck could go an entire career without. We thought Manning and the triplets would get a few.

Let's start with 1, anything else is gravy.

In spite of what everyone thinks, it takes a complete team to win a SB  You need more than just an offense.

  2. Luckily this will be the last post I have to directly see from you. One of the many disgusting posts Ive seen and wish I could say some words to you in person about how much of a disgrace of a Colts fan you are, but will have to just rely on ignoring your profile.

Peyton Manning is in consideration for the greatest QB to ever play the game and he did so often in spite of a GM and HC that others like him had the luxury of. You tell me where Brady would be without Belichek, or Montana without Walsh, or Marino and Unitas without Shula? He single handedly turned our franchise into a contender and in spite of everything against him put this team on his back.

Saying anything negative about him as a colts fan is pretry bold, but to dismiss him in the manner that you do is just disgraceful.

    I second that, great post

  3. I have a tear in one eye, and a gleam in the other. I feel the sun has set on the greatest QB to ever play the game. I couldn't even recognize #18 all night. That was hard to watch.

Thank you for being a Colt.

    Thats where Im at.

  4. So sad to see it end like this.  I wish it would have been against another team.  That hurt me more than anything.   Thank you for bringing the Colts from a lousy team to one that won the SB.  you will always be the GOAT to me.  They wont give you that status and allot of Colts fans have no idea what it was like before you got here.  But I remember.   You have all of my respect.  Hold your head up high because you deserve it.

  5. This game is more important for Peyton's career. The pressure is all on Denver to win this game.

I agree because Denver should win.  I think the Colts will play hard but come up short.  Im glad to be able to watch Peyton play for another year.  Its been a privilege.  I am so glad he was a Colt and I got to watch such a great player in my life time and to have that player the QB of my team.  Luck will be great but he has a long way to go.

  6. Hopefully, "Playoff Peyton" will show up.  Interceptions, etc.  If the D can get something going and throw him off of his rhythm, they can win.  Of course, Colts' O has to produce.

Have you forgotten the SB he won for the Colts and the fact that there was NEVER a D that could stop the opposing team?

  7. over 90 yards a quarter...over 11 yards a completion..

...we get so used to it that we talk about all the other aspects of the game and as they say 'bury the lead'

I would say that Luck is the most difficult player to defend in the entire NFL.

    ....all I can say is...

..record every game you can.....you might want to watch them again...

.....we don't know exactly what we're seeing the start of

Thats why I have most of the games Peyton Manning played on tape.  The GOAT

  8. And while you were stopping Murray (and his broken hand), Romo put four TDs on you.

I think it's going to be a good game, and without a doubt the Colts have a shot, but CJ has been killing it and I think PM, with a week off to rest up from the flu and thigh injury, is going to put a lot of premature smack talkers back in their place.

I agree, the Colts dont have the team to win this game.  Too many holes.  They will get there, just not this weekend.

  9. Thanks for the link Gavin & I owe Mr. Dukes an apology for blindly assuming he was favoring NE.

Jamie is right though. If we win this game, it sets up nicely for us down the regular season stretch seeding wise provided we take care of business.

How come so many analysts always ask who INDY must stop on the Patriots offense? How come they never flip the question & say slowing down this Colts offensive juggernaut is no day at the beach now is it Billy?

What I'm driving at is this: It is possible for NE to loss this game. They're not invincible you know. Did the world create a giant sink hole & drop me in there for having the sheer audacity to say that BTW? No, that's what I thought.

    They are absolutely beatable

  10. Yes, you are correct Gavin. But, why can't reporters say something original or shed new light on a familiar situation by talking about how both the Colts & Broncos franchises are still flourishing now with no signs on regression on the distant horizon?

I'm not slamming you Gavin just Chris Wesseling for being so sloppy, attention driven, & a sad excuse to his profession as a whole just to satisfy a deadline as SCC said so well.

    I agree with that

  11. This guy has always been a Peyton hater.  After reading that, it just makes me sick to see the disrespect people give Peyton.   As a Colts fan for almost 50 years,  There has never been anyone like him, maybe Johnny U.  He built this franchise and I just don't see the respect given that he deserves.   Yes Luck is a good QB and it was the right move for the Colts but the move showed me that it was Pollian and the coaching that lost the playoff games.  i hope Pagano and Grigson do a better job because Luck can only go so far by himself.

  12. I'm one of the few here that actually looks at that issue objectively. I don't blame young Elway one little bit for snubbing the Colts. Who were a trashy, defunct, utterly impotent franchise back then. Elway CLEARLY made the right decision. Hell....he's running the show in Denver STILL.

Never did understand why people still hold that against him.

I have to admit I held it against him but he has done with Peyton what I hoped the Colts would do but never did.  Elway has put a real team around him.  Colts relied on Peyton for everything and played small ball D for his entire time in Indy.  I think Peyton would have won multiple SB's with Pagano and Grigson.  Look at what a short career Bert Jones had because of the terrible team the Colts had, Elway didnt want that to be him.

  13. Not being a fan of this team has never crossed my mind. Not even when we sucked back in the early 90's because there were always reason to cheer. The last 20, or so years have been very kind to our beloved franchise.

They were losing way before the 90's to.  Thats why Peyton was so special.  He could take a team that wasnt very good and make it a playoff team.  He made this franchise.  As long as Peyton is playing I will want him to win a SB.   He's a once in a life time athlete.

  14. Position for position, arguably MH deserves it more than Peyton. The whole retiring numbers thing is just wrong anyway. There are better ways to remember the greats.

Why would Marvin deserve it more than Peyton?  I think both deserve it but Indy would not be where they are as a franchise if it weren't  for Peyton  He built it and deserves the respect for what he has done.
