  1. NOTE:  Questionable in Mike McCoy's language doesn't mean anything.  Eddie Royal has been "Questionable" Did Not Practice for as long back as I can remember in the season and has started every game.

Hardwick © is back and cleared the NFL Protocols.  He'll play until they drag him off the field.

Fluker (RT) Limited Practice/Questionable  He'll play.

Sean Lissemore (DE-DT) Questionable Limited practice, probably will play haven't heard any scuttlebutt on him.

Ryan Mathews (RB) Questionable/Did not Practice:  consensus is he'll play, he's resting a lingering ankle injury.  Should we win, he might have this same practice routine the rest of the way because of the punishment his style of running receives.

Eddie Royal (WR) Questionable/Did not Practice:  Same all season, he'll play.

Jeromey Clary (RG) Questionable/Did not Practice:  He went from Limited practice on Wed, to DNP Thurs. and Fri.  He's actually who is most being worried about.

  2. On a funny note - my husband is so ADD that when we go to a game he can't tune out all the people walking up and down the aisles, people's conversations around us and is NEVER watching when the play happens.  Attending a game in person with my beloved  --- as much as I adore him, just doesn't work so well!

We are constantly backing up and watching a play over using the TIVO and you just can't do that at the big show

  3. Bayone;

Yes, I think you're right on the missing Friday practice if they played on Saturday.  The Chargers tend to fly on Friday to East Coast, I don't think they do for Denver, probably will fly on Saturday.

This late in the season, I'm not sure missing a practice with the running back is a huge issue - more so with receivers and tight ends.

  4. Yup - you could say exactly the same about every single quarterback, team and the playoffs.

They are the most important member of the team, but the TEAM wins or loses.  Did Philip Rivers miss the 3 field goal attempts against the Jets in 2009?  I could run down an exhaustive list of what he DIDN'T do related to playoff games, but what is the point?

I'm personally sick to death of all the Peyton Manning legacy posts.

I liked Peyton when he was a Colt.

He's in my division - he's an "enemy"  now ;-)

If he gets past us I'm not sure if I can root for the Broncos (just plain hate their fans)

  5. But SD cant practice in cold weather...Denver practice sin the cold a lot.

Come on...SD isn't built to play in cold weather..they played Cincy last week....

They're not playing Cincinatti this week...

....There's a reason SD almost lost to KC's backups

Ummm.... this is illogical and incorrect...  Cincy was cold and rainy last week and the team practiced outside in Cincy in the snow on Saturday.  Last time we played Denver on Thursday night it was below 40 if I recall.  KC at KC was cold weather.

SD played KC at SD in the last game.  We almost lost because all season long we played terrible against lower competition and well against the best.  See Oakland Raiders game.

Rivers has won 3 or 4 games THIS YEAR below 40 degrees and is like 9-2 career in the cold (going off memory as I couldn't find the stats).

Rivers plays even better in gloves than without them and plays in them routinely throughout the year as well as practicing in them.

San Diego offense doesn't live or die on the long bomb any more so wind and rain is less of an issue.

  6. Michael Gehlken ‏@UTgehlken
After resting Wednesday, D.J. Fluker (ankle) is practicing today. Chargers right tackle expected to play Sunday.

Michael Gehlken is the beat writer for the Union Tribune in San Diego.

Coach also said what we expected, "Ryan is tough.  If he can play you can bet he'll be playing."  He will also practice tomorrow.

  7. For Chargers I feel Gates will have a nice game. Last year he gave Denver lots of troubles in their regular season meetings. Don't ignore the old dogs.

I had to laugh at your post because as I was hitting "post" I thought exactly, almost word-for-word the same thing, LOL!  I almost even edited it to add it in.

If Denver overlooks Gate he'll bite them in the rear.  But the fact he's there drawing double coverage helps our young guys out as well.

  8. I think that if he's even concerned about his neck at any point he could retire - especially after having kids.

Has he ever said he wanted to be a coach?  I could see him as one in the NFL really easily.

If his body allows, I think he'll play as long as he can play well.  He is motivated to go for the lifetime records as long as he's winning.  I don't see him hanging around bouncing around the league cause he just can't stand not being in the game.

  9. Chargers are loose.  Playing as a team and have already exceeded expectations.

I hope Peyton is dreaming about the game every night and over-thinking, over-analyzing what the Charger's D will bring against him.  I also hope Pagano has a wrinkle or two to install that will give him fits.

No matter what happens, our guys have brought it the second half of the season and it's been a blast!

  10. You have been harping on the pro bye week thing lately here a lot. And yes while everyone tries to get the bye it's not the be all and end all too. Does it help health wise? Absolutely no denying this. And if you are a team like NE you never made it to the SB without a bye week with Brady.

However, as Colts fans we know this all too well. Don't get cocky just cause you got the bye. We have been stunned coming off byes healthy or not. In fact, in 2007 I thought we roll SD coming off our bye week and head to NE but SD beat us and Rivers even left the game!

In 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2012 teams who played on WC weekend won the Super Bowl.

All great points, and all have been made before - he'll still come back with "the bye is better - period."  ;)

Besides, by now it is what it is and anyone who's playing and sweating that they should have had a bye week or they can't play doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs, LOL!

  11. The kid is young.  I hope he's able to mature and become the leader he needs to be.  He'll need a strong coach and a better organization - I'm not at all sure he's going to get that.

Character is built over a lifetime - I don't know what his childhood and the influential people were in his life, but I hope he has some strong people that can yank his chain when needed (including his wife).  He'll be the better man for it if he does.
