  1. I think letting Manning go to a superbowl ready team was mutually beneficial.  It helped him secure his legacy in a way staying in Indy could not have.  I dont see it as Irsay taking out the trash for Andrew.  There wasnt any betrayal in it.  And there was no way to know Luck's career would be an abbreviated one.  To the original poster every decision people make in their own best interest is, by its nature, a selfish one.  In hindsight all Luck did was leave his job. Every time I've left an employer for a better opportunity I guess I let my coworkers, owners, and customers down.   I should have stayed at the gas station where I started at 14 years old........Im a quitter........Can we cut andrew some slack?  Hes entitled to make decisions in the best interest of himself and his young family.  Once the season starts we'll all move on.  He was good for this city and this organization, the pain will pass.

  2. Probably not but he's who we have now.  It's up to Brissett and the coaching staff to prove that they can be productive.  I have a sneaking suspicion, no evidence mind you, that Reich and Co prefer Kelly but hes got to serve his suspension. Its Jacoby's job to loose and hes got my full support, if not my full confidence.  Bottom line is Luck is gone.  Fans will move on after week 1 and the organization has already done so.  Given the circumstances i think we're in the best hand we could be.  Nothing to do now but see how it plays out.  Love Luck, grateful for the past 7 years, but hes moved on.  One day is all it's taken me to follow suit.  He's gone fans,  Colts play with the QB's they have not the one they want just like '17.  We all get to see what they're made of.  Go Colts.

  3. I dont think they need to do it again.  I honestly couldn't even watch more that 3 minutes of what they put up on the website.  He's retired, I get why, honestly it's all I need to know.  He was a great player,  I loved him,  I believed in him, but I dont think the league will remember him long, not for this part anyway I have no idea what his future plans are.  I wish his heart was still in, but it's not.  He'll garner the requisite attention in local and national media for about a week and that should be that.  Best of luck to him.  I'm gutted by it for now but I'm a colts fan.  Once the season starts theres no reason to look back.

  4. I think the Colts are in more danger of him leaving voluntarily than we are of seeing him being shown the door.   Hes certainly has more work to do now though.  Andrew didnt make this easy on any of us.  From fans to coaches, players, and front office. This was a major blow to the entire organization and fanbase.  Super bummed.

  5. I'll still follow them but it's not destination viewing anymore.  I'll probably do what I did in 17 and just listen on the radio while I do other things. I dont think I'll drop the cabbage to watch them live.  This one stings.  I seriously can't believe how disappointed I am lol.  Grown butt man totally bummed a dude ive never met decided to stop throwing a ball to other dudes I've never met while wearing matching outfits......What a world!

  6. The colts went from a top 5 qb to what the GM & coaches optimistically describe as a top 20 qb.  I love a Cinderella story and hope to see one but Cinderella was just a movie.  As was Cinderella Man, Rocky, and Rudy.  Colts took a huge hit today.  HUGE.  It's likely the start of a decade of mediocrity.  Going from Manning to Luck was a 1 in a 1,000,000 shot.  Sorry to rain on an already soggy parade. BTW, I look forward to being proven wrong. Go Colts!

  7. As of today Andrew Luck is the past, finger pointing and navel gazing won't change that.  We all saw the last seven years, Andrew chose to move on, why ask why?  We all kinda know.  Bottom line, he's no longer in the league.  Colts still play 16 games on 17 weeks starting really soon.

  8. We just watch.  The team is set for the season.  Over extending trying to make something out of nothing is the worst thing the colts could do. 6-10 to 8-8 is probably the ceiling.   Tanking isnt an option, it would undermine everything the colts are trying to build.  This is a young team.  Unfortunately this looks and feels like the start of a decade of mediocrity.  It's a shame, for seven years we had THE quarterback and nothing in the GM or coaching staff.  Now we have what i believe is a great gm and (at least) a competent coach but a backup qb.......what do "we" do?  We watch TV on Sunday if the product is compelling enough to hold our attention and hope for the best out of the coaching staff and players.

  9. It's his life.  As fans we think we matter, but we don't.  They don't play for us the play for themselves.  He put in 7 hard years.  The majority of those years with a dysfunctional gm and an inept coaching staff.  Got beat to s#*+ and lost his love for the game (or this franchise).  No surprises there.  Bottom line is for all the hype and talent hes chosen that being just a blip one the radar on NFL history outweighs going thru the pain and struggle to have his head bronzed in canton.  Time moves on, people outraged here (believe me I'm one of them) still have to work on Monday, pay mortgages, raise kids, go about the business of dying, basically deal with real life.  If luck plays or doesnt play I'm still gonna wake up with cancer tomorrow.  Sure I was hoping for a few good colts seasons before it consumes me but nothing about my real life changes, Luck or no Luck.  Be disappointed fans, we cant help how we feel, but try to keep it in perspective.  This guy has to live his life the best way he knows how and so do we.  Plus we get to see how good Reich really is now.  We'll all move on.  Good luck colts (no pun intended).

So how much more money are these so-called cancer experts going to need to find a cure? You could give them 100 trillion and somehow they won't find it. I love Irsay's gesture of good-will, but you know that money will just line someone else's pockets.

There are many types of cancer and new breakthroughs are being made annually to combat them.  As a 45 year old fighting stage 4 colon and liver cancer I'd ask that we give the cynacism a rest and refrain from impugning the intelligence and integrity of the people supporting, researching, and fighting for the survival of others and just allow optimism and hope to fuel our endeavors.  A very personal thanks to Mr. Irsay. His money wont bear fruit in time to save my life, but future generations will benefit from his generosity, I believe that.  Also, Mr. Irsay,  if we could start that 3 superbowl run sooner rather than later I'd really dig it.

  11. Franchise QB does something inappropriate to an uber driver's body.....three game suspension.  Low to mid tier RB does something "inappropriate" to his own body......4 game suspension.  Once again the NFLs messaging is just a little off.  Not arguing for a reduced sentence for our guy btw,  just pointing it out.....

You say he was pushing too hard, i see him saying that he skipped steps. Meaning he took it for granted and DID NOT do all the necessary work last year.
      Boy oh boy!

Skipping steps, to me, means going too fast.  Pushing too hard......like climbing a flight of stairs, skipping steps is an attempt to reach the top faster.  I don't read Luck's statements as entitlement or laziness, quite the opposite in fact.

  13. I'm struggling to understand this move.  We're already talent deficient.  We haven't been active in FA.  We're flush with cash.  Why create more holes to fill during a rebuild?  Hank is young, talented, effective, and the biggest contract the colts put together last offseason......can anybody help me wrap my brain around this?

  14. Can't believe we're so incapable of addressing the o line. With all the holes we need to fill, and all the cap space.....i know we're not "win now mode" but damn......take 1 position group off the table.  At least send a message you're semi serious about protecting Andrew.  +/- 100 sacks in the past two years but "overpaying" in FA for 1 piece on the OL is considered unthinkable (talking Norwell)?   What's Luck gotta be thinking?  Instead of a helmet next season, march him onto the field with a blindfold and a cigarette........

Given your knowledge of the position group is there anyone left in FA that you have your eye on? And did you think the jags "overpaid" for Norwell?

  16. I think Colts fans are hoping for the "triple lindy".  Where in the Browns select Barlkey, Giants do what they do.  Then the Browns, Jets, and Broncos all trade up, in a bidding war, for their QB of choice.  Allowing the colts to draft Chubb/Nelson at 6 whilst acquiring many additional 2nd and possibly 3rd round picks......far fetched but fun.....
