  1. For the umpteen millionth time... we have 5 bigger needs to address.

Where I agree with you, if in FA we don't grab a few OL, I will agree, please go line here. If we do grab a OG/OT or OG/OG, I am good with us looking at a CB in the first round, if one of those three are available.

I would be more disappointed if we draft a RB or WR in the first round.

  2. I have seen a lot of folks saying they would only sign 4 of our free agents...I have seen some say 11.....I picked out 10 I would consider re-upping....I want to see what everyone thinks....Let me know it this is off base with the thread FX....it is yours Sir!!!   :)

Of the list of free agents, the only ones I really care about are:

    C Shipley

    CB Butler

    CB Powers

    LB Fokou

    P McAfee - top

    T Justice

The rest I am ok getting rid of. There are a few others that are signed I would be ok dumping also, if their cap hit isn't that bad. Hughes is one of them. Not a fan. He did better in a 3-4 defense, than a 4-3, but still don't think he is Freeney's replacement.

  3. Unless Pagano knows something about Kruger which would stop him from wanting Paul on our team, he'll be a Colt.

Even with his value increasing, he's coming much cheaper than Freeney. He's just now hitting his prime. And, he's familiar with Pagano and the system so there's no issues with schematic fit. He also fills a crucial need for us.

I don't think Baltimore can afford him, as they don't have much room and must resign Ellerbe (or else they'd be losing both of their inside 'backers next year). Oh yeah, and Flacco's up for a long term deal. He might've earned himself an extra dollar or two this postseason ;)

That's the thing about any Ravens we might want to bring in Pagano is going to know if they are worth it or not or at the very least hat we can probably expect from them.  Same goes for Grigson and any Eagles that might interest us.

I think Kruger is a guy to watch.  He clearly fits a need the Colts have and Pagano should know if this season was the next step in his progression or just a one time type of season.

I also agree with that I don't think the Ravens are going to be able to keep him.  It's going to take most of the money they have just to keep Flacco and unless he just like throws 10 picks next week there is no way they can let him leave.

After watching Kruger play against us and Denver, I am 100% hoping we bring this guy over. Unless Baltimore finds a way to keep him, I have no problem paying him a nice salary to make sure we grab him. I don't see Freeney staying a Colt, as there are teams that run a 4-3 that will pay more than we will for him and I am sure, he would rather be back in that type of defense. Mathis adjusted well and replacing Freeney with Kruger, would be HUGE! The guy is a beast and even I was jealous of him.

I think with our money, if we can upgrade our line with at least 2 guys, bring in 2 more guys on defense, then draft the rest, we might be set pretty good. After watching Houston again last night, this team is in some serious need of new coaching. They have the talent to keep the South theirs for the next couple years, but not the coaching staff. Colts will have no problem reclaiming next year, if we add more to our line to protect Luck, and bring in a few more key factors on defense.

  4. I don't know but just because Wayne said he is going to try to recruit Reed doesn't mean the Colts will go after him.  With that said Bethea did not play well this season.  If they get Ed Reed they COULD and that is just a guess release Bethea for Reed or they could move one who knows.  Right now it's just a giant what if.

If they released Bethea, I would be highly *, along with a lot of other fans. I am sorry, but to even say that!

On the Ray Lewis dance, I didn't see an issue with it. I could see where Wayne might have, but given it was his house and last home game, I completely understood why they did it for him. He is a HOF first round ballet. NOW, if he did it while at the Colts stadium, I would completely agree, out of line.

  5. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Castanzo. How anybody can judge his play as bad is beyond me. He is the only stable part of the line that does not need to be replaced or at least upgraded. If we got 2 good interior lineman, this line would instantly be very solid. I wouldn't mind an upgrade over Justice too, but I don't think its as necessary as the interior line.

I like him also. Did you hear him during the Baltimore game? When Baltimore wouldn't get off Luck! He got *, started grabbing their players. Some of the Baltimore guys came up to him, pushing him back, he screams, GET OFF MY QB! Multiple times. Loved it!

  6. My reasons for Luck.

    Most yards for rookie QB.

Most yards in a game by a rookie QB.

Most 300 yard games by a rookie QB.

Most wins by a rookie QB taken fist overall, stands now at 11.

Took a team that was 2-11 to 11-5. From last place in the whole league to, 4th place in the AFC and 7th place in the league.

    Played the whole season.

    7 game winning drives?

6 fourth quarter come backs by a rookie.

Has the worst Oline of the three. Seattle and Washington both have running games, Indy is starting to find one, but still isn't there.

Only Wilson and Luck should be in the consideration, I am sorry. RGIII does NOT belong. If RGIII gets it over Luck or even Wilson, it shows that ROY is just a joke. Wilson is the only other person I could see getting it, but his team was already the best out of the three, which is why I believe Luck should get it.

  7. I'd love for someone (other than Houston) to give him a chance to be an NFL QB.

I've heard all the, "He's not an NFL QB." stuff, but my eyeball tells me that's not entirely correct. Yes he needed some help from a stout Denver defense, but he won 8 games for the Broncos, making some hellacious throws to do it & he beat the Steelers in the play-offs, & I believe that was the #1 defense in the league.

Is he prototypical? No. Is he perfect? No.

But some people gave Sanchez 4 years before they figured out he's not an NFL Starting QB. Blain Gabbert got a year & change. John Skelton started more games in 2012 than Tebow. Brady Quin started a few games in 2012..... I mean there are some bad QBs in this league & Tebow is more deserving a start than many of them.

Did you actually say this with a straight face? Are you really Skip Bayless?

  8. Butler definitely has the talent and I believe Gillhamer can turn him into a quality, consistent back. Coaching is everything sometimes.

I agree with this, look at Tim Jennings....I hated him for us. I thought he was horrible. Look at him in Chicago? He is a stud at times!

  9. Skip Bayless is saying the Colt's still made the wrong decision at qb. He is also still saying that Luck is not even close to RG3's level.........Skip is an *!

Skip still thinks Tebow is an elite QB in the NFL! Skip is clueless! RGIII will be lucky to be in the league for 8 to 10 years.

  10. I disagree... Freeman has led the team in tackles in every game this season.. He makes solo tackles like nobody's business, had an int in week 1, and is all over the field constantly.. He and Angerer are a fearsome tandem if we can get #51 fully healthy...

I agree....Freeman is not getting overhyped. The dude can hit, he finds the guy with the ball. I see him hitting guys like crazy. I rarely see him lose someone, once he has them. The guy saying he is overhyped probably hasn't seen one Colts game. I am sorry, if you think he is overhyped, you haven't seen him play.

We aren't the only ones that have noticed how good he is.

  11. I still believe Freeman and Angerer are the best two LB's we have and both could dominate together. Conner is a nice one to sub in, as he isn't bad either.

We do need a little more out of our d-line though.

  12. It seems like every time you see a few Colt players after the guy with the ball, he is there. He could become one of the top LB's in the league if he keeps this up.

The guy just gets to the ball and like everyone says, hits hard. Probably the second best draft pick this year, Luck being number one of course.

  13. .... whether Brown is the 1st string running back or not, he is a serious and legitimate weapon for the team.

And it was on display from the first play.

Can we please focus less on what Brown can't do, and focus a little more on what he **can** do?

Like take a short pass and turn it into a long touchdown. There aren't a lot of players who can do that. Not many (any?) other RB's on the Colts roster could've done that.

Speed kills in the NFL. And Brown's got loads of it. Can we cut the guy a little slack now....?

    Just askin....

Yay, 2 rushing attemtps, 2 yards!!!!! Congrats Donald!

Sorry, for some reason, I want my running back to be able to run the ball!

  15. I am fine with the draft. I would give it a rank of a B/B+. We did fill some holes and I think we have some future stars for our team.

Still didn't address the DB issues I still think we might have, but maybe they have a plan for it.

  16. There are plenty of other teams that give him a better shot to get another SB and hopefully another SB ring. Tenn is not one of them. As I said last night, if he goes there, he is repeating what Farve basicially did. He would be just following in Farve's shadow. He will not win a SB with Tenn. I am sorry. I don't see it.

It would be one thing if other teams didn't want him and Tenn was his only option. He has to know, it will upset a lot of fans, he claimed to care about. I do believe he cares.

I will also say, just because he goes to Tenn, doesn't mean he will beat us twice a year.
