It did better than I thought he would, but he wasn't all that. As already mentioned, he could have been picked off multiple times. He once again fumbled, I understand that it wasn't his fault, the RB just let the guy run right past him, I believe it was Brown, go figure, but still. Every game he has been in, he has fumbled I believe. Last week, it gave Pittsburg the TD.
With our line troubles up in the air now, with two going down last night and us already having issues there, I just don't think it will get any better. He does need time to make plays, last night the couple sacks, he needed maybe 1 or 2 more seconds to make a throw and he couldn't get it.
We need to committ more to the run and stop going away from it. WE AREN'T A PASSING TEAM RIGHT NOW. Sorry, needed to get that off my chest. All week, our line should practice running the ball. We have Addai and Carter, who both have actually done well when given the chance.

how does one one prove he is a starting QB when one hasnt started?
I saw how he played at Purdue, wasn't impressed. I was stunned the Colts drafted him.
I would trust Reggie's opinion on the man throwing him the ball more than his opinion on a running back though.
Also even the announcers touched on the difference in the out routs with Collings, they did it and then Painter came in and threw a perfect out to Garcon where the ball was on him as soon as he came out of his route.
We don't know anything about truly what Painter can do but when one of the best receivers in the league and in our franchise history, who has been catching balls from one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game says this kid should get a chance, at least I will listen to that.
He also missed a wide open Garcon for a TD. I don't think he will do any worse than Collins has done, but I also don't think it will be better. But as I said, prove me wrong! I want him to.

If said player has yet to prove what he can do or isn't good, yes. Sorry, but if Wayne came out and said Brown should be starting over Addai or even Carter....Most would disagree with him. Painter has done nothing to prove to me he is a NFL QB. I hope he proves me wrong, I am begging him. But until he can prove he can do something, he isn't a starter.

He better hope he is right, because if we can't move the ball like in preseason with Painter, he is going to look really stupid.

Brackett will be missed, but Angerer has proved he is just as good and maybe even an upgrade. I am excited to see Angerer in the middle.

Its more hyperbole to express my disdain for our special teams. Pat was forced to make another TD saving tackle on a kickoff.
I am just glad that he can! A lot of punters can't!

I would guess because the guy that walked into the staduim of the Jets/Dallas game with a tazer. And nobody stopped him or saw it. It was attached to his hip.

If you are basing it on last weekend, Pittsburg should be at the bottom, 7 turnovers? Really? We only turned it over twice? And the score was about the same. They also had their starting QB, so I would give us props for doing just a bit better wtih less.

We might be getting beat bad, but Pittsburg losing as bad as they are, is worse than our score!

This isn't going as well as I had hoped. Our line isn't doing a decent job and the two fumbles cost us dearly inside our twenty.
Personally, I don't know why we weren't just trying to run the ball more and why not just move Collins to the shot gun every play? We have nothing to lose and it should give him just a little more time to get the ball out.

We lost our starting QB, they have lost their starting RB for this game and Foster is a beast. At least that is something in our favor.

If he stayed home and watched the game, would that not be some of the funniest stuff? Can you see him yelling at the TV, going crazy that a flag wasn't thrown? Cheering if we score?

What are you talking about? I asked this based off Phillip Wilson's tweet that Caldwell didn't know if he was going to make the trip or not. Unless he is having another thing done to his neck, I felt he would be there. When I saw that, I guess there was doubt, maybe it was more due to maybe him having more done to his neck this weekend, but I think it is a valid question. A lot of players hurt DON'T make the trip.
So maybe you need to settle down? And not burst a blood vessel?

Should Manning attend our games and be down there with a headset on?
Personally, I think he should. If he can't be on the field, I don't see why he couldn't be helping on the side lines, giving Collins advice and such and maybe even telling him something he sees on the field.
Caldwell said he didn't know if he would go to Houston, I say GO Manning and help us win, even if you can't be on the field.

Right now, I would say Cassel due to age, but I think Collins can come in and post some decent numbers. If we win this Sunday, people will have a lot of crow to eat.

I am not a fan. I personally think we need to go a new direction with coaching. I loved Dungy, but lets face it. Coaches that don't show any emotion, isn't getting us anywhere. And coaching is being questioned big time here.
