As already mentioned, Foster was tearing us up with the outside. I really have liked Anderson being our third guy behind Freeney and Mathis. I still think Nevis is a good DT, just don't need injuries all the time.
-
Just like me, Caldwell isn't just bad this year. I gave him a chance when he took over and I have seen nothing from a coach that I like. He just seems like a yes man and I do not believe 100%, he has any control over this team. Even with Polian, Dungy had control.
-
Now this statement is something that just doesn't make sense! Are you advocating Luck isn't NFL ready and that he is a BUST like the other names? It doesn't make sense to draft a guy #1 overall to sit for four years! That is not improving this team, with many glaring holes!
No, my comment says, how do you know he will be a success....Manning has already proved even at 60%, he is probably better than most starting NFL QB's in the league. Sorry that you don't understand, just because they say he is NFL ready, doesn't mean he will be nor that he will succeed. People thought Cam would suck, but look at him today. He is doing very well. You just don't know who is really NFL ready and who will really be successful.
-
Also, who says Polian will be around next year to decide?
-
But remember, we need to face reality... He's done. He's going to retire, and we need to come to grips with that.
If he can play, why would he retire? Or are you just playing the...if this happens, I can come gloat here I told you all so and if he does come back and play, you hope it is forgotten and nobody will remember it?

The Colts would be the dumbest team in the league, if they just let Manning walk!!!! People saying he is going to be released is just stupid. Why in the world would you let a player like that, just walk to another team, when you have FULL control on whether he does or doesn't?
Manning and Luck can play on the same team. Saying they can't is once again, just something that doesn't make sense. Just because Luck is supposed to be NFL ready, does not mean he can play in the NFL. Wasn't Ryan Leaf going to be the big thing? Russell? Tim Couch? Where are these guys now?

For the players this year we have discussed being their make it/break it year:
Painter - I think he is gone. No reason they would keep him.
Brown - He is good against bad defenses, but can't do anything against good defenses. Let's face it, that 80 yard TD was luck on a broken play. I am glad it happened in our favor, but serious? He has had good games against bad defenses, but most players should. So being a change of pace guy could still be possible, but HE ISN'T THE SAVIOR AT RB!
Gonzo - Yeah, he is gone. Hasn't even played
Addai - We need someone that can stay healthy, I would not have an issue with them letting him walk and maybe grabbing someone out there on the market.
Wheeler - What can I say, I think he is the biggest improvement of any player. He has proven finally that he can play in the NFL. I think he finally earned his spot. I love our LB's!!!!
Lacey - Good game yesterday, but let's face it, under our defensive scheme, he isn't that good. Kinda like Tim Jennings, we all wanted him gone, but look how good/decent he is in Chicago on a good defense? Lacey could be the same way.
Hughes - Healthy scratch for weeks and has really been horrible for a lot of him playing. I don't see a reason to keep him.
I might have missed a few, but on that list, Wheeler is the only one that I would want them to keep right now.

We went after Dungy, he wasn't within. I don't see why Irsay wouldn't look at HC options outside the org, since they took from inside and look what it got us.
-
Jim is very giving, not only to fans, but good causes.
-
I know it has a lot to do with Manning, but Baltimore has always had trouble beating us and they are a team that doesn't always play well. We could steal this one.
-
I think Archie addressed his comments rather nicely on the Mike and Mike show. From what I was seeing, what he said today was it. He just meant that both Peyton and Luck should be playing next year, not Luck sitting on the bench, because he feels that Luck can start next year for any team. Even the Colts. He also felt that if Peyton can play, he is going to play and even said, Peyton has a great history with the Colts and Irsay.

I wonder who actually wanted to go 19-0 that year ...
Um I did....I wonder who didn't
Ask the Pats fan's, at this point I don't believe we would have went 16-0, as the Buf game was a snow bowl and risking injuries in that would not have been worth it, plus we didn't win the SB so we would have been 18-1 and nobodies cares and makes fun of you for that.
-
Teams have shown that the Pats and Brady are week if you rush him up the middle. We have two of the best ever, listen to Belicheck in this meeting. I like what he actually said.
-
Sometimes, I think some of you on here are worse than the media on the questions you ask, your thoughts on how things should really go and such.
I felt bad for Manning and all the stupid stuff they were trying to get him to say.
-
So take your pick, 0-11 or Eagles fan?
We at least know we would be better with Manning, they were still losing with Vick and are supposed to be the dream team this year. And they won't even make the playoffs.

5. Who will be our next DC? IMO I think we should take Jack Del Rio as a DC...The guy played Lb for 11 yrs, then was a Lb coach for Baltimore and also was the DC of the Panthers in 2001, He lead that Defense to be the Second best that season. Or Jeff Fisher as DC, He also has a successful resume when it comes to being a DC.
Jack Del Rio DC and Jeff Fisher new HC. That would be awesome and funny at the same time. Two former HC of our division, now coaching for us.

Irsay already made a tweet about rumors of Manning playing against the Pats.
From what I have seen, people showed up today for comments, but the word was, they might release information tomorrow, not today, so it is the media's fault for coming a day early.

All true, but they haven't had a team in - what - 15+ years? And the buyer is a business man based in Illinois. It boggles the mind that LA doesn't have a team, but I looked at three articles about this none of which even hint about LA. I just wasn't sure why this thread is titled "Jag may be moving".
It doesn't but everyone knows they can't draw fans, the stadium is 2nd rate, and after the last SB there, even the league office dislikes the town of Jacksonville.
They will force a team into LA in the next 10 years.
I agree, the OP should rename the topic. This has nothing to do with the Jags moving, nor is there anything to it. He is speculating and his topic doesn't support what he is posting.

Glad to hear this. If Mike can do anything, I say let him have a crack at it next year. If not, find a guy that is successful!!!!!!
-
If we win 10 next year it's guaranteed he wins MVP. Heck, maybe even 9-7 would win it for him if the numbers are there.
With the easy schedule we should get next year, we should have at least 12 wins!
-
@zachris- I can picture Peyton yelling at Brady like he did Jeff Saturday. brady "Peyton what are you doing?" peyton "Look Tom get in the locker!" brady "No, get out of here" peyton "Look, Look I'll get the **** out of here if you just get in the locker!!!!!" brady "no" peyton "GET IN THE LOCKER!" 20 mins later he's talking to the o lineman "yeah he's in the locker, he put up a fight though. I'm mic'd up too"
Mic'd up would be awesome!
-
Brady trips over a gatorade cup, sprains his ankle and watches in awe from the sideline as Painter lights it up.
Maybe Manning finds Brady before the game and locks him in a locker, so he can't get out. Nobody finds him and we win!
-
8-8 for the season. Weak defense, average at best O-line, and below average STs.
We had the same last year and finished better than that.
-
I was willing to give him a chance, but during the playoffs and our SB run that year, he showed me that he wasn't really that good as a HC. I have wanted someone new since then. Last year, it was painful again and this year, with the talent that this team is supposed to have, we should have won a game.

Deion cares about one thing....Himself. He always has, always will. He is one of the worst player/commentators they have.
