Maybe we need a new WR’s coach. The current one has only developed Pittman. The other guys were fairly high picks and disappear frequently. I think we should go out and trade for one or sign a real proven one. We seem to have a hard time developing our own.

You consider it a good call. I don’t because he used the wrong personnel which immediately reduced the probability of success drastically. Your playmakers have a better chance of catching tough throws than a fringe player who will not be on the team next year.

Of course it took a missed extra point for that to happen as well.

I agree with 99% of this. I might differ on how to get there though. I do know I will scream bloody murder if we trade back from 17. I would trade that pick to get one of your two top objectives or trade up to get one of those objectives. FA comes first and we have the capital to get some things done even after resigning Pittman. He’s a given. Teams will be making moves for quarterbacks. So the top 10 order has a long way to go. We also need more veteran help on the team. Being the youngest team shows. I think we could add some solid veteran leadership without breaking the bank. A safety or linebacker would really help. Like you said take advantage of the cheap contracts at quarterback and LT to bring in another difference maker or two. I’m all for that. This is not the year to trade back with that 1st pick. We need to acquire a starting PROVEN difference maker with that pick. Finding a way to get one on both sides of the ball would be a home run.

It was a horrendous use of personnel. He never should have been on the field. If you are going to run that play pass it to one of your playmakers. Not an ice cold player who won’t even be on the team next year. Yet Taylor’s on the sideline averaging 6 yards a carry. Inexcusable!
