  1. If there are no takers, will JT play for the Colts? I think he like Steeler's Leveon Bell will just sit out till the cows come home. Unfortunately, he stands to lose game checks going forward. One thing that will further work against him is that a "no" taker situation further leads teams to believe that his injury is worse than we imagine.
  2. Rich Eisen has ran the last two shows basically misinforming and misleading about the JT situation. We have all listened to Irsay speak, his twitter and JT twitter. NO where did Irsay say HE WAS NOT going to sign an extension for JT. All he said is that the Players union agreed to a contract that under values RBs. Upon JT's request Irsay did respond JT that he will NOT TRADE JT. He did not say he will not sign JT before his rookie contract is up, which Ballard has done with Hines, Quenton, Shaq... ( but remember it was NEVER demanded by the player.) The media, namely ESPN and guys like Eisen pushes a narrative of CONJECTURES and MISREADS OF INTENTIONS that Colt management are "heartless" to their players. As a fan I think otherwise. JT got himself poor representation who does not know how to negotiate with the Colts. At the end, I believe JT will listen to reason and he will get his money.
  3. Kenny Moore is much wiser than JT. He kept his mouth shut and kept playing (although poorly). Ballard will keep him. Look at Hines, he kept his mouth shut and kept sawing wood. He was no big thunder but Ballard rewarded him. Yes he eventually traded him to a playoff team last year and did him a favor. JT just blew it royally !!!
  4. This dispute has been a common situation in the earlier years with the Colts organization. Example: Dickerson, Faulk, Edge... Irsay is Irsay and basically did a poor job in convincing JT to be patient and wait out this year. His timing to march into that bus was TERRIBLE and any amateur would have told him that it was inappropriate. Bottomline, only JT can change JT's attitude. He chose to be confrontational about his contract and now he will have to live with it. Lamar Jackson did the same and now he is trying to mend the fences. Lamar did not get what he wanted but he is back on the field. Remember: Money talks and nonsense walks. Irsay and Ballard has done more negotiations that JT or his agent, so the only thing on JT's corner is to cry for the sports media simpathy. (Who by the way is loaded with has been players trying to push eyeballs and attention). JT is a nice guy but not wise.
  5. Forgot to add one more reminder to JT. Irsay brought the truth to what the owners would not accept in the Lamar Jackson situation this offseason. He did the same now with the RB's but JT decided to follow his agent's crazy idea that Irsay is an ego maniac. Lamar did not have an agent otherwise he would still be unsigned.
  6. Football is a business and JT has no leverage in this negotiations. Just look at players like Tom Brady and how hard it was for him to cut loose from the Pats. JT overplayed his hand and was mishandleed by his agent. Cut the agent and redress the issue next year with Irsay. Irsay is not unreasonable and is one of the few owners that would have upped his salary next year without franchising him.
  7. If at this stage there is no firm positive confirmation that Shaq will be on the field, than he is done with football. The injury as a MLB takes him out of the game. I am not holding to illusions. Thanks Shaq for all you have done.
  8. I am fired up!! I rewatched the Eagles first 2022 three games. Jalen Hurts ran alot and had his issues connecting with his passes. My prediction is that AR will start Game 1, and he will outperform Jalen Hurts. The play design had the defenses committing to either stop AR or JT. He is bigger, stronger and faster than Jalen Hurts. All we will need is our defense to show up. This new Colt offense is going to rock.
  9. I know that this is early in the draft process but this first draft press meeting gave me a very pleasant impression of Shane. He came across as no "crap" to his responses. They are short and too the point. If it is something that invites a spin, he calmly and respectfully declines an answer. I saw a different Ballard next to Shane than with Reich. Shane was more of a Vrabel. Ballard was calm, resolute and truthful in their selection of AR. AR has the highest ceiling among all the QBs and will be fun to watch him play, and win games.
  10. Richardson was who I thought Ballard would pick. He likes to pick the "freaks" of that position and that is what AR is (in a good way). Ballard and Irsay will be redesigning our team to be a modern, exciting and unpredictable. Our team will be focused on CREATIVITY and UNPREDICTABILITY but designed to maximize what our players do best. With AR the QB role is wide open. Our OL is smiling ear to ear. Defenses will seriously have to address AR elusiveness, just like we did when we played Lamar Jackson. It is going to open lanes for JT. I only wish TY was still young and playing for us. We can do the QB sneak for 1 yard on fourth down!!! (AR is 245lbs 6-4) He is bigger than Jalen Hurts.
  11. Reich chose Bryce Young. Ballard picked Richardson. If you look at the picks you can see the difference in philosphy. Reich could never coach a guy like Richardson. He is of the Old Mold just like Jim Caldwell. Ballard is taking us to a new generational football world. A game that is made with a QB that is generational in RPO skill talent. Ballard and his scouts always pick the "freaks" that stands out in their position. He has one in Richardson. To match his pick he has an offensive coaching staff that plays to this wide open football. Like Shane says: " We will throw to score and run to win " Reich was more focused on a balanced attack by the number and that boxed us in. Richardson's mobility inside and outside the pocket will make our OL smile ear to ear. JT is going to see openings to gash the defense who will have to respect Richardson's elusiveness. I believe that (Shane, Cooter and Turner) the coaching staff is salivating to get their hands on Richardson. The kid is young, moldable and physically skilled. I would love to hear what RG3 has to say about him.
  12. I honestly believe that Ballard relied alot on Frank's judgment regarding the Colts QB situation. Frank is a very nice Christian man but he is extremely biased to the "old" way of offense. He does not have the creativity to design plays to his QB strength. It took all these rethread QBs for Irsay to finally step in and shake the Ballard dependancy on Reich. It was also a very smart political move because Ballard could not have fired Reich without having all the old guards (Dungy Polian Levi and Pederson) scarring his reputation. I believe that this time: the Ballard/Shane partnership will be how we turn our team around. Sorry Frank, and I wish you the best with the Panthers.
  13. What happens if they draft Jalen Carter. You know how much Ballard loves the interior lineman. Supposedly he is a generational DT.
  14. Ballard is going to let the draft come to them. If Stroud is there, the Colts will take him. If AR does not pass the Ballard "feel" test they will be going with Levis. If both are gone then they are drafting Will Anderson.
  15. Howie Rosen definitely got the better of Ballard with Wentz, Sirianni. He drafted Hurts in the second round while Ballard went for Pittman, or he could have traded up for Hurts since he had two second. He did draft Sam Erlinger and Eason, with Eason bombing out. I think Erlinger may still prove out to be a good QB with the right coach. Case in point: Brock Purdy and Shanahan. Fred Reich is not that great of a Head coach. He is a OC type coach.
  16. I am a old fan since 1968. I think Jim Irsay is a passionate Colt owner. I appreciate his commitment and bold actio .
  17. Training camp is a time to evaluate what you have. Aside from the Offensive coaches, Matt Ryan is also evaluating the players. He and Reich and his staff will evaluate and refine their playbook. That is what Rivers did with Sirianni and Reich, and now its Ryan's turn. Ryan played with K.Shanahan, t WR: Julio, Sanu TE: Gonzalez, K.Pitts RB: Cordelle The guy has seen it all. Like Peyton he will be the coach on the field.
  18. Draft is on April 28 to 30th. Players can begin work programs in mid April. If we want a new QB, we better get him signed before April 16th. You can still draft a QB but that is a back up plan at best. I am not confident that Ballard is going to sign Garapolo because 49ers want a 2nd round draft. For those who placed "in Ballard we trust" this is the moment of truth. He needs to pull the rabbit out of the hat.
