I understood what MP Stack meant & yes, Diamond Dave & company did some interesting harmonies off of "Women & Children First" for sure.
I just appreciated how experimental "Divers Down" was an entire album with the Big Band sound of "Big Bad William," the country influence on "Happy Trails," the fabulous Roy Orbison cover of "Pretty Woman", the haunting instrument on "Cathedral", & everytime I hear "Intruder" in my car, I start driving faster. LOL! especially with that jazzy, high hat work on percussion with the quiet cymbal work. I love it.
Okay, I promise to stop raving about this VH album now.

Hey there BR-549,
Good to see you posting once again. Glad to have you back.
I came across a singer named Johnny Doe today performing a song called "Devil Train." I honestly thought this was "The Man In Black." It's crazy good. Wow!
I was blown away. It sounds like vintage stuff straight out of the 1950's & Sun Records. Amazing!

Blondie's "The Tide Is High" is hands down my favorite song of hers with a strong Jazz vibe to that timeless track. I never get tired of that song either.
I do like "In This Moment's cover of "Call Me" too RR7....
I grew up on Blondie as a kid so I respect any band that keeps her music fresh & alive man.

I revere Ann & Nancy Wilson. Such strong women who excelled at bridges, melodies, & lyrics. They knew instinctively the value in catchy hooks & melodies. Something metal & hard rock bands tend to ignore to their detriment I'm afraid.
Plus, Ann & Nancy understood the importance of good diction & annunciation of words or phrases when singing songs live & in the studio.

I hear ya RR7. I have no venom toward grunge at all now & like you, SW1 is metal head at my core. You're preaching to the choir my brother.
We metal heads may not fill full blown stadium arenas anymore, but we are a very loyal & devoted fan base no doubt. Those raised on Metal will never leave it or purge ourselves from it. It's in our blood & DNA baby. I know exactly what you mean RR7.
Nice chatting you as always.

Percussionist Lars Ulrich plays the drums with such thunderous intensity like machine gun bullets ricocheting off of spinning helicopter blades. His presence is felt even before the arena lights get flipped on the stage. My favorite Metal drummer is Nick Menza formerly of Megadeth fame, but Lars is my number 2 though.
Metallica's new album "Hardwired To Self Destruct" is top notch & doesn't disappoint loyal fans BTW. "Here Comes Revenge" & "Spit Out The Bone" are probably my favorite new tracks.
