  1. I think the reason why the Colts are not signing any FAs outside of our own is NOT because of Ballard. I sincerely think the players just don't want to come here and I truly believe it is due to the fact that the Colts have zero daycare and are terrible with accommodating dietary issues...
  2. Yea. Thank God that hasn't been happening for the last 6 years. Glad the Colts see that changing it up now and then and is a good thing.
  3. If what the article regarding the Colts trying to still acquire Snead then this tells me the Colts really do not want to use that 2 on Snead. I say this because I would guess the Colts would need that 2 plus pick 15 to move up to grab the WR or TE. If Snead comes to Indy, Corner Back is not the play at 15 and without that 2, the Colts would be hard pressed to find enough picks to move up. Pure speculation of course but it kind of would make sense. Especially if moving up would warrant pick 15, our 2024 second, and a 2025 first rounder, the Colts would most assuredly want whoever we trade With's 2024 second in return.
  4. I respectfully disagree. The QB ONLY excuse is getting old here. QB is one issue we have had yes, but not the only issue and any team or fan completely thinking that we are just a QB away is dumb. It's a lot more than that. My real point is that when Ballard spent money and gave up assets for Buck it worked out as Buck was a top tier player. He needs to do more of this more consistently. I have never advocated to spend up all our money on every FA every offseason but using last year as an example, a kicker is needed but not necessarily where the root of the money should go. He needs to spend more on proven talent but also at the correct positions and the top positions outside of QB in the NFL today are WR, CB, and Edge Rusher. Is it a coincidence that those three areas are what we desperately need the most results from and subsequently are the same positions that we always ?
  5. Good Morning. What is it with your certain group of guys and girls on here? There should not be one fan who, currently, should like this organization's philosophy of running things. It really has been a mediocre result. < This is the issue. A middle of the pack team. Most of the high-end players get gobbled up on the 1st day of legal tampering. Do they get overpaid? Yes. Is that the norm? Yes. Yet most on here keep stating the same thing. "I would never pay that or sacrifice that". News flash. The Colts brass obviously feels the same way. Unfortunately, the only thing to show from this is a middle of the pack team. At some point, that insanity you speak of needs to be projected onto the front office way of doing things and not on the fans who are getting restless. If the Colts way of doing things were showing a high ratio of results, I personally would not be constantly nitpicking every move at this time of year or at any other time of year either. So far, they have spent their money on players that have been part of that middle of the pack team. I just do not see how keeping and focusing on middle of the pack players and surrounding them with other middle of the pack FA's and unproven rookies will ever get this team out of the middle for a consistent duration of time. It has not happened albeit one year with Rivers out of 6 or 7. That ratio is not good regardless of whatever reason you lay at its feet. The one constant though is middle of the pack FAs in the majority. -Peace
  6. If the price is right sometimes it could be strategic. Backup this year, possibly needed if QB is glass again, trade value next year or at deadline who knows. There is value there either way
  7. Dude come on? I mean, keep some of our guys sure but actually go and get some real difference makers. PAY THEM How many people on here been complaining about needing a safety. OK, why isn't McKinney a Colt? I mean I'm not saying that should've been done but go get some REAL talent at positions we need upgrades at. Signing our own guys is not going to cut it because these players are not good enough to get this team over the top and that's not an opinion that's based on the results we have witnessed for a long time now. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying...
  8. I'm sorry. I'm going to be me and throw in my hat piggy backing off what an article at stampede blue seems to reiterate. When are we Colts' fans going to realize that keeping OUR OWN doesn't necessarily mean it's a good thing. Did the Colts get any better so far today or have they stayed the same mediocre team everyone seems to be content with? As I stated above, this team and its current players who we have resigned today did not and have not won the division or a playoff game in eons now. What makes any one of you think that it's going to magically happen this year and if you tell me because AR might play more games next year, you really have zero clue here in its obvious conclusion. This approach is laughable.
  9. I agree. It's like let's keep the band together that didn't win, can't seem to win the division or make the playoffs... It's absurd.
  10. Then we both agree at the same time. The bolded is my take. The reason I gave you merit is the scenario you stated holds merit but not for the Colts. No way would the Colts want him for 1 year nor should they. I'm not sure what my "history" means and why a shot at me is warranted here. Johnson, to me, is a WR1 and could be the piece the Colts have been needing.
  11. Depth at receiver? How about who cares? How about we start having the mindset to go get PROVEN talent mixed in with developmental players. If you all want this delayed gratification stuff to stop, you have to physically stop it
  12. What? Sorry, makes no sense. Sure what you say has merit however so does Ballard trading for and signing Johnson past the extension. Dudes like in his mid 20's I think and now with Juedy going for a 5th we might just get Johnson for a 3rd. Heck, give the Steelers a 3rd and Pierce and call it a day.
  13. I just read the Steelers are open to trading him. This could be exactly what the Colts need. Johnson would instantly give the Colts the number one they have been looking for. A Johnson/Pittman tandem would be something special imho. I'd send Pitt our second and get it done if the Colts feel they would be out of top receiver/TE draft range.
  14. I truly believe the Colts may have to jump ahead of Titans pick seven or at worst pick 10 ahead of the Jets to grab Bowers. I can really see the Jets grabbing Bowers at 10.
  15. There were aspects of the article that hinted at potentially being frugal with certain amenities. My point maybe wasn't clarified properly. I was referring to the money not going to the right places as viewed by the players. I.E. food and family care, etc. Your assessment of Ballard putting money into certain player areas is valid however I would argue that it has not been the correct areas as a whole, QB aside and that is what I was referring to. It's an apples to oranges viewpoint based on how you or others might see it
  16. I realize that we are talking about two different things here, but are we? To me this is a pattern under Ballard's watch. Why would anybody believe that the guy who is notoriously FRUGAL with his spending for actual players, would be any less FRUGAL when it comes to player amenities. I really wanted to say "cheap" here but went with frugal. Pretty sweet right?
  17. Sneed has been tagged, however he has also been given permission to seek a trade. I think a second would net you sneed
  18. I, of course, only care about the WR's. I'm hyper focused to that point as is normally the case with me for the last 6 off seasons. With that said KJ Osborn? Absolutely not. He is a JAG. You, like many posters who make these mocks, are always trying to link the Colts with some mid-tier/bottom feeder projection WR or some old guy, i.e Mike Evans in FA. Let me ask you this? Would you rather PAY MPJ 20-25 mil a year and put him next to a mid-tier/bottom feeder receiver because technically we already have that now or would you rather let MPJ walk and use that money plus a bit more on, let's say, Aiyuk or JJ and put them next to a mid-tier/bottom feeder or a 2024 rook? I'm not saying my option would even be attainable as those players I mentioned might not be available however if the Colts DO NOT try to install a plan similar towards what I just I suggested and implement a plan like you suggested, then this team is just not getting it and it's time to really rethink what this front office is doing from the skill position department. Now, if the Colts keep MPJ and do whatever it takes to move UP and grab a stud WR or stud TE in the draft then now we are talking. If the Colts DO NOT pay MPJ and take that available cash and use their 15th overall pick to go after JJ or Aiyuk and draft a second- or third-day rook WR as well as an example, then now we are talking. If they pay MPJ and sign a guy like Osborn or Mooney and draft a late 1st or second day receiver then Ballard, IMHO, is NOT the GM we need for the obvious "doing the same thing expecting different results insanity" method towards skill players. Can a second- or third-day receiver turn into a superstar stud? Sure, but I do not trust Ballard and his staff to get that type of pick correct based on past selections in the draft and FA. We need no-brainer locks at WR or TE and not cross your finger guys. It's time for the Colts to go big or go home.
