  1. First of all, the FA aspect is only one part of it. So it is you my friend who are clearly looking to confirm your feelings. Regardless of whether we agree or disagree with what you call organizational philosophy, as the writer points out, it has not worked. See "results" as the key here. As far as Ballard's decisions goes, again, can't really say they have been great when the results show otherwise.
  2. The only reason Ballard would trade back would be if: A) No teams are interested in trading with the Colts so the Colts can move into the 7-12 range. I still think the pick will be for a WR or Bowers if there is a severe run on QB's and Tackles, and if we can get into the range I mentioned. Although I want a WR1, I would be fine with Bowers as he is going to be a game changer at that position. I know most would say that we already have so many TE's. I agree. They are a plethora of "jag" guys though. Colts have eliminated one (Ogletree), now they need to dump Granson and Cox and Woods if he cannot get healthy. Keep Mallory and go after Bowers. Granson they might keep in case Bowers is unattainable. This team can ill afford to keep grabbing guys at premium positions that are projects in premium rounds or trading back to gain more picks from premium round slots. <This strategy, although habitual and normally predictable, has not worked. To my bolded, my meaning here is that every off-season we sit here and need CB's, Edge Rushers, WR's, and Lineman who are PREMIUM STARTERS/TALENTED, not just guys forced to start, and every year Ballard has traded back and traded back again, and it has not brought Bonafide starter results. It has not worked. It's time to change that strategy. At #15, we trade up, use that pick to acquire a player, or stay at 15.

    Alec Pierce

Dude, come on... Did you even read my response to the moderator that you laughed emoji at? I said IF Pierce has been open all year as clearly you and others are quick to point out then why has he not been screaming this from the top of the luc? Keyshawn Johnson style. Throw me the damn ball!! And if you play advocate and say "Maybe he has been" then clearly there is another issue then as he has not gotten the ball/chances consistently enough and NOW, he's on the verge of not even having a GameDay spot, much less a game plan possibility. Unless you think the Colts are going to utilize 4 reciever sets exclusively next year.

    Alec Pierce

Dude are you being serious right now? He is currently being projected as a WR4 on this roster in 2024 if he is lucky. Based on the Colts potentially going after or drafting a true WR1. If he is complaining behind closed doors, it's about not having enough cream for Steichen's coffee. If Pierce keeps this trajectory, soon, the only thing he will be blocking is traffic so old ladies can cross the street.

Ok and? All these guys get paid a ransomed to play a game. Why wouldn't he do his job? I don't view doing your job high character. I view that as smart. Keep doing your job, keep getting paid. Not complaining about getting the targets on a team void of playmakers is not high character either, it's dumb or if it is high character, I personally don't want that from my receivers. I want my receiver to read the room and if he is so wide open every week and not being factored in by QB, Coach, or whoever/whatever then I want him to address it/complain about it behind the scenes and then publicly if need be until he gets the ball or becomes a substantial part of the gameplan. I mean look at it in real time right now. We have a possible $$ dilemma with Pitt. Would it be easier to make that decision if Pierce had been more adamant about getting the ball and possibly gained really good results for half a season or more? Showed promise maybe other than blocking and being a good teammate? I mean he could have flopped too, but personally I'm over this High Character crap. I don't want Alex Hernandez guys or even guys that lose their temper with their chicks, but I certainly don't want my receivers to not give a hoot about not getting targets or just happy with small gameday roles other than blocking for other guys. If that is who Pierce turns out to be then clearly, I was right the entire time. He's a bum and can take a walk because he's money NOT well spent.
  6. I agree about drafting one. I think that's the way to go at this point. Just have to hope they focus and get the right guy.
  7. You honestly believe Hilton is comparable to the likes of Chase, Hill, Jefferson, Adams, Hopkins in his prime, Brown, and Diggs to name a few? Hilton is more like Higgins and/or Waddle.
  8. My bad on Frank Smith. I really thought you were speaking of Arthur Smith. I did not know of a Frank Smith. No chance the commandos pass on Williams or Maye this coming year. These guys don't come around often.
  9. TY Hilton WAS NOT a WR1. What are you smoking? Ha!! He was a number 1 with us, a 2 or a slot on any other team.
  10. We really can't continue the TY pattern where we keep relying on a WR2 to be OUR WR1. It's waaaay past time. The Colts need to do whatever it takes to secure an alpha Receiver in 2024.
  11. I'm thinking Fields gets traded to the Falcons, which is a very smart move by both teams. Instantly makes the Falcons Bonafide contenders in the south.
  12. This is absolutely terrible. No way Washington trades out of the 2nd pick and the Pats 1000% are taking a QB and zero chance the Colts take a DT at 18. This year I really think the Colts will trade up or stand put. This team needs immediate playmakers. Not a bunch of guys via a load of picks that they hope become playmakers. Who is Jim Vrabel and Frank Smith?
  13. Of course, we do my friend. I agree. I was being sarcastic...Ha!!

    CJ Stroud

Again... It is you who is not seeing, nor are you listening either. I gave you both lineups from a skill position view. If you believe that Richardson will elevate Pittman (if he is here), Pierce, Downs, and whatever TE we currently have that we throw out there, to a dynamic playmaking position that Collins, Dell, and Schultz currently possess, you are the nonsense here. There is no secret here that I cannot stand our WR's. Downs might be okay but as far as I'm concerned Pittman can walk and Pierce flat out sucks. I have hated the WR picks from Ballard as well as his FA signings. <<Again this is no secret. Stroud is very good, but I can't stand watching the league hit on these WR's like Dell and Puca and we keep drafting Smells and Puke-A... And Collins? He is a WR1. Dude has speed and route running. Dynamic Playmaker. Last I looked every QB here since Pittman arrived is better than Davis Mills and Pittman has NEVER been the playmaker Collins has been this year. So, you're whole Collins has been there 3 years bull doesn't jibe. The entire wideout room, sans Downs, needs to be overhauled majorly. Who would you rather have? Pittman or Tee Higgins?

    CJ Stroud

Based on my eyes. I swear, it's like most of you can't see. From a skill position point, they are proving to be miles above us, other than possibly RB. Nico Collins and Tank Dell are far superior to Pittman and Pierce. More dynamic. Playmakers. If you argue that you are just a homer who really can't see the obvious and if you think that AR would've made Pittman and Pierce the equivalent of Collins and Dell, you are delusional.

    CJ Stroud

I Agree!! Here's the real deal: Stroud, Collins, Dell, Brown, and Schultz vs. AR, Pittman(Maybe), Downs, Pierce, and a TE trio of Meh. Yea. Sorry Colt's fans it's not close. Texans are legit.
  17. Seriously. What are you talking about? I never, not once brought up Minshew or AR. I said this team needs a WR1. Who the QB is, is irrelevant. I personally have been screaming for a WR1 since Wayne and yet here we still are. Void of one.
  18. Everybody would love to have Mo-Cox in their lives.
  19. You are so sadly mistaken. This isn't about hating AR, it's about hating the WR room...
  20. Seriously, please just STOP. This happens every year. You all know what is needed and suddenly it's lineman or defensive backs. So stupid. The NEED is WR1. It has been since Wayne departed. Enough about the defense and enough about AR making the WR's better. HE won't. You're acting like he is Tom Brady. Everyone on this forum should implode if Ballard does not make a WR1 the priority no matter the cost.
