Minnesota....
I don't have a rooting interest but I'd like to see a team play the Super Bowl at home....
The Vikings are somewhat of a forgotten franchise. They are largely ignored by national media..
The team is worthy. The stadium is magnificent.
I'd like to see the Vikings host the Super Bowl
Me too.
I would not say that the Vikings are ignored by the media, but maybe fans don't take them seriously. When guys like Harrison Smith and Linval Joseph are not voted to make the Pro Bowl, it is a travesty.

I live in SW FL, so I get Miami - KC and Bucs - Panthers. At least Tampa is challenging well, leading 19-15 at the moment.
Do you expect coaching changes in Miami or Tampa? Some fans were saying that Gase might be out. I don't see it. Now Tampa may make a change. The owners there don't show much patience with coaches.

It’s not like last week to me he has full control even if he hasn’t pulled it into his body yet. Some calls could go either way but when you get 50-50 calls week in and out it’s almost like the NFL WANTS the controversy to help their ratings.
I believe that this hurts ratings. Folks will question the integrity of the game.
What do you think will be the call in a similar play in the Chiefs game?
Update: This one (Chiefs game) appeared more like it should have been overturned but the call stands. Lol.
-
Oh no!!! There was no conclusive video evidence there. If that was any other team but the Pats, the refs would not have overturned it. Just ridiculous.
That is the type of thing that will make viewers stop following the NFL.
-
Let's see if the refs overturn this TD by Kelvin Benjamin.

I read that too. All I remember about the XFL is the player who called himself "He Hate Me".

Head Coach- Shurmer
OC- Tony Sparano
DC-Todd bowles/Jerry Gray in that order
I think our talent is similar to the vikes and would fit shurmer's scheme. TY is an undersized wr like diggs. Doyle is a lot like rudolph in size, speed, and catch radius. Mack is very similar to mckinnon. He also has lasted and succeeded with zimmer on that staff. If you can succeed and gain the respect of that man, then I have full confidence in Shurmer to put in all effort and have a detail oriented mindset when it comes to preparation. I respect Zimmers coaching knowledge and grinder mentality as much as any coach in the league. I would assume he expects the same from his staff.
Sparano is the oline coach for minnesota and has had head coach experience. While we will be using Shurmer's offense, Sparano hopefully can do for our line what he did for the vikes this year. There are no big names on that line but he has them playing at a high level and meshes with Shurmurs ability to call plays that move the pocket or roll outs for the qb to extend plays.
Not sure if Bowles will be fired but there is no denying he can coach the defense a little bit. I respect him and I think the mentality on our defense would mesh well with his. If not, Gray has worked with shurmer in MN and is another Zimmer guy. Zimmer is known to be a DB guru and if Gray can bring some of the lessons he learned from Zimm and his several years of coaching experience, then i believe we can finally achieve a top 10-15 D pretty quickly.
Alll in all... sorry for stealing your coaching staff vikes!
That would be awful... for my team. Lol.

No... Lions fans hate him...

That is true. We have a Lions fan who posts on the Daily Norseman. He wrote that he believes JB Cooter is overrated. But I agree with you 2006CBE. I like him. However, I think Shurmur would be a better coach for the Colts. He has head coaching experience and he has done an awesome job with our offense with less talented QBs than Stafford.

Pat Shurmur is my favorite guess from you guys so far. I was torn between the Vikings coordinators.
Keep your hands off our coordinators!
Seriously, I would hate to lose either of them but the Colts would be a great organization for them to get a head coaching opportunity.

Stanford signed 10 players but expects to pick up about 6 to 9 more.
"Stanford’s early group includes four four-star athletes: Alabama quarterback Jack West, Maryland defensive end Thomas Booker, Georgia cornerback Kendall Williamson and Southern California wide receiver Michael Wilson."
"The Stanford class is heavy on cornerbacks: Ethan Bonner of Texas, Donjae Logan of Arizona and Kendall Williamson of Georgia. ... West was rated the second-best recruit in Alabama by ESPN and PrepStar. He passed for 1,907 yards and 22 TDs as a senior at Saraland High, giving him 4,869 and 56 in his career. ... Wilson was the all-time leading receiver at Chaminade-West Hills with 2,000 yards."
-
Perhaps Stanford is planning to sign more players by February. I don't know. Their early signing period recruiting class is ranked 50th. The last couple of years they have been top 15 after Signing Day (Feb 6th or so).
@RockThatBlue UK's class is top 30.
@2006Coltsbestever Nebraska is closer to Stanford but they have a new coach. That is not surprising. They may pick up more guys by February.

Many folks have epilepsy but it is controlled. They live pretty normal lives. Jerry Kill seemed to have uncontrolled epilepsy.

On the bright side, the Packers lost today. Maybe this is the year of the Vikings.
You think Rodgers plays next week? I would love to beat the Pack with Rodgers next week.

Will do...you are the most likable team in the playoffs outside the Chargers if they make it for me.
Btw, what do you think of the Saints and the Rams? We beat both pretty handily but they both scare me. The Panthers don't scare me although we lost to them.

I am, I want Vikes and Chiefs
Vikes and Chargers. Chiefs would not be bad. I think the Vikes would beat the Chiefs. I saw the Chiefs lose to the Giants at Met Life Stadium.
Bills would be a nice story too.

Steelers lost a couple secondary guys and now Shazier....that defense isn’t the same...and may have lost Brown for the season too. No way Sam plays unless there are injuries...I like Minnesota I do....I think Carolina might be the best team to beat NE now because of Cam being the X factor and shredding that defense on th ground and they have a decent defense. That said I’d probably root for NE because I’m not a fan of anyone on that team.
Root for the Vikings. We have a bunch of good guys. We have a QB and a WR who were not drafted in Keenum and Thielen. Our defense is top five. I know Colts fans like Xavier Rhodes. Just root for us.

It doesn’t make you cynical....but if you give Tom Brady a second and third chance to win a game??? Does anyone not think he will? I knew he would.
All the calls seem to go the Pats way. After a while, you become suspicious and start questioning the integrity of the game. Do you recall that Detroit-Dallas game a few years ago. All the calls seemed to go against Detroit.
I did not think Tom Brady looked good today. Many of his passes were off.

All the teams with defenses that I think could beat NE have questionable qbs and the teams with qbs have questionable defenses. NE is the most complete team and will be playing at home.
Pitt has a great QB and their defense is not too bad.
I know you like the Vikes D and you think highly of Sam Bradford. Bradford may be activated for the playoffs although I doubt it.

Actually the call was the right call, James didn't have complete control of the ball when he crossed the plain of the endzone. Tony Dungy said it was the right call. I am shocked Pitt didn't get the call like they always do. I guess they met their match on getting calls when facing the Pats.
5 minutes ago, dgambill said:It was the right call even if it’s a crappy interpretation of the rule. The real problem is teams choke when it comes to the Pats....they have what it takes skill wise but they don’t have it up in the head. Things like dropping gimme ints and dumb penalties and play calling in the crunch separates NE from the rest. They aren’t the most talented....they just prepare for every scenario and step up when it’s time to make the plays.
The call itself is not what bothered me although it is ridiculous. I just did not want the Pats to win and it appeared that they were headed for a loss and won. I worry that I may become cynical like that Buffalo fan. When that happens, I won't want to watch the games anymore.
I hope the Pats don't make it to the Super Bowl. I don't want them to have the chance to win in my team's house.

This made me sick. I could not believe it. I am afraid that I may do with the NFL what I did to the NBA after Lakers/Kings about 15 years ago -- not follow it. This is a travesty. How does New England win that?!

Now the next question should be, should she now get in trouble for lying to police about being raped? Should Anderson sue for defamation of character?
Yes. Absolutely! Lying about being raped is reprehensible. She should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law if in fact she made false accusations of rape.

I like that there's an early signing period now. Some of them will be locked in in about a week.
I had not realized that there was an early signing period. Do you know why that was instituted?
Signing Day (Feb. 6th, I believe) used to be big. The early signing period probably takes away from the importance of Signing Day, as many of the recruits will have already signed.
Is this the end of the LOB? (Seattle D)

I hate to do this because I am a Stanford fan and a big fan of Andrew Luck. But if you are going to use stats to argue your point, don't cherry-pick them. It makes your argument look bad. All the stats you failed to point out are better than Andrew's.
Wilson has a better completion percentage (64.1) than Andrew does (59.2)
Wilson has played more games but has fewer INTs (56 to 68) and therefore a better INT%.
Despite the stats you listed, Wilson has a better TD%.
Wilson's yards per attempt (Y/A) is higher (7.8) as well as his adjusted yards per attempt (AY/A) of 8.1.
The Seahawks defense may be credited with winning the SB, but the defense has little to do with Wilson's stats. I think Andrew is a more skilled QB but Wilson has actually performed better.
