I’m not a big Kelly fan. I personally don’t think he is the right fit at ND..
I remember your telling me that 3 years ago. Who do you think is a good fit?

Ole Miss up on Alabama. Nice throw and catch by Ole Miss.
Noooo... the officials are reviewing the play. The WR may have gone out of bound before scoring. Hope it stands.

ND is not very good imo. Stanford will wax them and so will VT. That OL misses Mcglinchy and Nelson.
If that Vandy receiver held on to the catch at the ND 10-yard line with less than 2 minutes left in the game, Vandy may have won the game.
Why do you think Stanford will "wax" them? I don't know about that.

Close game in South Bend with 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter.
Notre Dame 22, Vandy 17.

I'm pleased to get Stanford games where I live. (I don't get Vikings games every Sunday
).
Stanford is up 20-3 in the 3rd quarter.

Wouldn't be surprised if Vandy pulls off the upset. Think it'll be a close game either way
Florida State about to lose to Syracuse...yikes
Wow. That head coach should have stayed at Oregon. They're probably ready to run him out of Tallahassee.

Stanford is playing at home against UC Davis. I expect an easy win for the Cardinal.
Anyone else interested in Vandy against Notre Dame? I hope to watch that. Vandy's defense is pretty good.

Stanford leads USC 17-3 in the 4th. Hope they can hold off USC and go 2-0 on the season.

21-31 bengals. John Ross has his first good game. Him and AJ Green toast our CBs. Dalton looks like a pro bowler. We can’t stop mixon on the inside. He runs for 120 yards and 2 TDs. Nelson allows a few pressures. Luck gets sacked twice and throws 1 TD and 1 int. The forum blows up.
Wow. You don't see the Colts doing anything positive??
It is a home game. The fans will be pumped up for the start of the season. Dalton can be rattled and is always good for a couple of INTs. Never count out Luck. It won't be easy but Colts squeak out a win. It will be the opposite of the Lions game 2 years ago. JMO

If the Lions get a real running game for Stafford, that division looks nearly as tough as the AFC South appears to me.
I thought it was a tough division even without Mack. I believe the Bears may be harder to beat than Detroit, although I like Stafford a lot.
As for waiver wire claims, the Vikes picked up someone I don't know much about. His name is Cole Hikutini, a tight end that was waived by the 49ers. Interestingly, we play the 49ers Week 1. Seems like a Belichickian move.

Sorry @NFLfan, I'm hoping we can steal Chad Beebe from the Vikes (if they do waive him), then stash him on our Practice Squad after a week on the 53 man roster. He could be a great Wes Welker type guy for us down the road.
To me, this is where I will determine the Pro Personnel departments strengths/abilities. Helping Ballard claim some better talent than we currently have for depth. We have a good claim position, let's work it.
Beebe went unclaimed. We signed him to our practice squad. One of the guys I thought we would lose, Ifeadi Odenigbo (DL), was claimed by Cleveland, first team to make waiver claims.

Stanford won
Yes, they did. The score made it seem like they played well, but most of the scoring took place in the second half. Last year Stanford lost 20-17 to SDS.

Stanford did not look all that good from what I saw.
Thank you for sharing your impressions. That's not good. San Diego St seems to give Stanford trouble. SDS gave Stanford an early loss last year.
What looked bad? I will watch the game next week.

For the record - If Ballard did the same deal I wouldn't have liked it.
I would not have liked it either if Rick Spielman made this trade. It is too much to give up.
Was this move made by the same GM that gave up a lot just to move up one spot to get Trubisky?

Oh wow! Korey Robertson too? I forgot how many of my personal favorites you guys got this year. No idea how he's played in pre-season but I loved him coming out of college... I think the Colts had serious interest in him in the draft too... had multiple interviews with the Colts if I'm not mistaken.
Btw, Holton Hill did make the team as did former Colts DT David Parry. The latter was a surprise. I believe that you liked running backs Roc Thomas and/or Mike Boone. They both made the team, but we (fans) suspect the Vikes might look to trade Roc.
Terence Newman retired and joined the Vikings coaching staff.

Other Vikings cuts:
Blake Bell, TE
Ifeadi Onegdibo, DL (a smart team will get a very good player)

Vikings shocker
Minnesota is cutting DE Brian Robinson
Say it ain't so! Ugh. Will miss B-Rob and all he brought to us. I'm not happy about this.
Beebe cut too??? Ya know the Pats will try to sign him. Hope @ColtsBlueFL nabs him for the Colts.

I didn't watch Stanfords game so how did they look? @NFLfan
I missed it.
But they won without much of a running game. The Bryce Love for Heisman did not start off well. I'm still hopeful though.

LOL, no trades. We'll just claim guys we are looking at when they hit the waiver wire.
Lol. Makes sense. I would think that the Giants, who would have first cracks at waiver wire guys, would claim players from the Vikings, given that Shurmur is familiar with most of the players. This off-season, he claimed a player that I had hoped we would keep on our 90 man roster, TE Kyle Carter.

Robertson did not play much at all. I don't think I saw him once. We played a lot of Chad Beebe, Jeff Badet, and Jake Weineke as well as Laquan Treadwell. Maybe the Colts will sign Robertson. I'd like that for him.
Your other favorite was Hercules Mata'afa (spelling?). He got injured early in OTAs or minicamp and is on IR.

Agreed
But they could have waited since he will not count against the 53
I know what you're saying, but there is no sense in keeping an unwanted player. I liked him as a receiver but he came with too much baggage.

Vikes fans hope we keep Chad Beebe. I think we may. May I interest you in trading for Brandon Zylstra or Stacey Coley?

I agree. Many places of employment offer some sort of health insurance to their retirees. Why should the NFL be different, especially since the employees' (players') jobs involved sacrificing their bodies? Many of these guys would qualify for disability and after two years of disability benefits, they would be covered by Medicare (for anyone over 65 and those receiving disability for 24 months or more). So, the NFL can pay for supplemental insurance which is not too costly. It's not asking a lot.
A pension? I thought they received a pension if they played 4 years or more. Maybe I am wrong.
