  1. Agreed, but I’d add it’s been played bad by both sides. JT and his agent played this horribly. The way his agent was acting on Twitter and JT playing into his “injury” were bad moves. On the Colts side, they should have traded him as soon as contract negotiations broke down in June/July. If he really asked for $16 million like it has been rumored, then you should’ve shut it down there and helped him find a trade partner then. Now the guy you’ve basically said isn’t that valuable is up for trade, and you want a valuable pick in return? Kind of a combination of ignorance and greed there.
  2. https://coltswire.usatoday.com/2023/08/29/indianapolis-colts-jonathan-taylor-trade-suspension-consider-hold-in/ Would get even uglier if it came to this, but there’s talks of him being suspended.
  3. Banogu lasted way too long on this team. I hope with pass rushers going forward, Ballard is starting to realize what does and doesn’t work. He’s really valued athleticism and a prototypical build that is almost identical in every edge he’s drafted.
  4. No Darius Rush is crazy. That’s a Gus Bradley corner built in a lab. He did get beat but I thought it was obvious he was Raw and would need time. Also I still would have waved MAC and just ran with the young bucks. I know Woods is banged up but 5 TEs is wild. Also we brought AQM back just to waive him? I don’t get it.
  5. Who could you trade that would bring back decent compensation but also not hurt the team? I was big on trading Shaq but is anyone going to trade for an aging LB with a ridiculous contract? Pittman won’t get you anything in a contract year. Buckner and Grover probably won’t get you much either. You can trade Nelson but the OL already has issues. Plus he’s another guy with a contract that’s hard to move.
  6. They talked a lot about how Cross has been better since they moved him to FS. Not as much thinking as the SS does in Bradley’s scheme. Probably rolling with Blackmon, Cross, Thomas, and Denbow. Colts seem to almost always go with younger guys.
  7. I also haven’t heard anything on what anyone is offering, but I’m assuming that’s what someone would offer. We all know a 1st is out of the question, but 1-2 day two picks doesn’t seem unreasonable to me. Like if someone offered a 2024 2nd and a 2025 3rd, I think that’s a reasonable deal. And yes I’m fine with using another day 2 pick on a RB. Personally, that’s where I’ve always felt RBs should be valued at. If it’s essentially just a 3 year rental, then a 2nd or 3rd round pick isn’t too high. Especially if they produce. As long as they don’t use a 1st, I have no issues with where they draft a RB. People spend day two picks on premium positions that don’t work out just as frequently.
  8. I’m not saying he’s an immediate top tier level starter if signed, but I’d have to think he’s better than some of these 2nd and 3rd string guys that teams like us are going to roster. Makes the most sense.
  9. I just really hope Ballard isn’t playing hardball. You don’t have leverage in this situation. Taylor is still injured and has to be extended. IMO get a pick that you can use to draft another RB with next year (so a 2024 2nd or 3rd round pick) and another day 2 pick. Asking for anything more would be insane.
  10. What is the story with Dalton Risner? Is he a head case or something? Why has no team touched him?
  11. Yeah because with Pinter injured for the season, and Fries banged up, we need depth badly.
  12. Beats make sense as it would make them competitors in their division. You’d have to worry about JT and Fields in the backfield. Plus stacked boxes would open things up for their receivers on the outside. On another note this is how it has been for the Colts. You solve one need and another pops up. We get our franchise QB and now our franchise RB wants a trade. It’s crazy to me that we have an off-ball LB who is making $20 million but can’t pay JT. We extend players like MAC and Hines, but not the guy who has been the entire offense for the last 3 seasons. And now it’ll be back to the draft for another RB.
  13. I’ve been saying for awhile the Colts should move on from MAC. Nothing personal against the guy, I just don’t really see how much value he adds. You’ve got a bunch of young TE’s, let them play.
  14. Strachan is bigger. Downs, Rogers, and McKenzie are all on the smaller side, so regardless of if it’s Rogers or McKenzie for the final slot WR spot, the 5th WR needs to have some size.
  15. Forgot about McKenzie. Yeah, I’d take him over Rogers.
  16. I’ve got us keeping 5 WRs. Pittman Pierce Downs Rogers Strachan
  17. Yeah that’s a blow to the ST unit. This likely means that Amari Rogers and Strachan both make the final 53.
  18. AR to Harrison would be a thing of beauty. If he and Verse were on the board when we picked, as much as we need a franchise edge, I’d take Harrison. Verse is still my “Pound the Table” guy because I think he may be in striking range, but if we get a top 5 pick and there’s QB needy teams in front of Us, I’m going Harrison.
  19. That’s why having a down season wouldn’t be terrible. You lose out and you have a shot a Harrison, Verse, Olu, etc…
  20. That’s a fair question. I’m just going off skill set and not production. I haven’t seen anything from our current receivers from a skill perspective that shows they can be Chase, Jefferson, Diggs, etc…plus remember that a lot of number 1’s shine regardless of who is playing QB (Evans and Hopkins).
  21. That means he’d basically be missing all of TC though, and might have a little rust. May take another 2-3 games for him to be back 100%.
  22. If the rumors of him wanting $16 million a season are true then we need to pass. He should get no more than $12 million a year tops.
  23. We haven’t had a true WR1 since Harrison and Wayne. Hilton was great for sure, but he was a smaller guy. Pittman is a 2 for me. Harrison with AR would be an insane combo for sure.
