  1. I agree he is raw but he has a lot goin against him plus he shouldn't have been thrown right into the fire

Geno threw himself into the fire day one on Draft Day, saying, "We're going to make the playoffs." It's time he owns up to his statement and puts in the work. I don't feel sorry for the guy at all. He's an immature rookie who had no clue what he was getting himself into.

  2. I think that was obvious in why Grigs let him go. Ever since he got injured the other year, he looked like he had lost something. I think its typical of every player at some point to decline. With the exception of P Manning......

P Manning is a robot, so makes sense.

  3. How satisfying this was to see Flacco get slapped in the face with a dose of reality. I don't know if Flacco is still the highest paid QB in the league, but regardless, he's both overpaid and overrated. For years he's been hiding behind what was a stellar defense, a leader in Ray Lewis, the deep WR chuck-and-pray option to Anquan Bolden, the head coaching staff, and Ray Rice. Now Lewis is gone, Bolden is gone, the defense lost a lot of other pieces, and where is the leadership? Can this guy not get his team together and at least try to pump them up? I'm not asking for a Ray Lewis speech, but come on. He looks half asleep out there.

True top-tier QB's make everyone else around them better. Where is that in Flacco? Try being in Peyton's shoes, play with Jim Caldwell, and take your team to a Superbowl.

  4. Update: Pam Oliver suffered concussion-like symptons from this incident.

"Oliver started getting a pounding headache headed back to the hotel after the game, or over the next five days when she stayed in a dark room unable to cope with concussion symptoms... Oliver said she had trouble recreating the events, and friends had to tell her she got hit with a football. She had nausea and sensitivity to light, and her whole body ached... For most of the next week she stayed in a dark room."

Yikes. I'm surprised it was a concussion though because it kinda hit her more on the cheek imo.

  5. The thing we have to keep in mind is the fact that Painter is better than 99% of everybody living on this planet (that includes ourselves). So, even though he doesn't start and such, he's still a pretty decent player...otherwise he wouldn't be in the NFL.

I can think of a few retired QB's, college QB's, Arena League QB's, and 3rd string QB's who likely could outplay him. I think the only reason he's in the NFL is because he's young and has played under Peyton and OC Jim Caldwell. It helps he was also with the champion winning Baltimore Ravens. Essentially, his entire success is inherited. Now he is playing under Eli and can say he's played for both of the Manning's. He is truly the luckiest QB in the league.

  6. I don't know the details. It must have been a lucky screen, or something. Even Tim Tebow threw a TD this game. Cant wait for the game to end so I can see the highlights.

Edit: Here is the Curtis Painter play. Yea, it was a screen to the receiver, but a TD is a TD.

Edit #2: Direct link doesn't work, but it's a scoring play, so there's already a highlight, so it's easy to hunt down. Be sure to also watch the 52-yd Tebow TD.

  7. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-preseason/0ap2000000234222/Who-has-impressed-you-this-preseason

We all knew they're the #1 team to begin with and that Vegas doesn't know what they're talking about, but it's nice to see the non-believers finally starting to take notice. No mention though of our starting defense not giving up a single TD, but oh well. The offense has impressed, but it's the defense that has made the most strides imo.

  8. I believe Robert Kraft even attended his funeral and there was a memorial ceremony for him before the preseason game.

Rules are rules though. The young boy cannot be allowed on the field without the proper credentials. When you enter a stadium, there are rules of conduct where visitors must abide to certain regulations for the benefit of safety concerns for all others, and this holds especially true when visiting the field. The young boy was turned away, and rightfully so. End of story. If every organization made an exception to this rule, parents would be taking their kids to the field and lying to get a piece of the action.
