  1. I don't buy it. My guess is Leslie Frazer and Co. didn't want to backtrack on their earlier comments about starting Freeman for next week's game, but rather than say they were wrong, they declare Freeman has "concussion" symptoms. It's a great strategy, because it's impossible to prove a player is lying about concussion-like symptoms, because doctors simply do not know enough about the human brain to make such a diagnosis without assistance from the player, and you can bet Freeman will be told to fake such symptoms, as needed.

  2. I'm also confused why they had Freeman attempt 53 pass attempts. That's way too many throws, unless your Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. Adrian Peterson only had 13 rushing attempts. I could understand if the Vikings were down a huge deficit, but they were not. The game was close a majority of the game (score was 7-10 at the end of the 1st half).

They did nothing to help Freeman ease into the spotlight. It feels like the Vikings fed him to the wolves.

  3. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000267764/article/josh-freeman-gamble-costs-freefalling-vikings-in-loss

Notable mentions in the link are the Vikings offense didn't score a single pt against the worst scoring defense in the NFL. He completed only 20-of-53 passes for 37.7%, the lowest mark for any quarterback throwing 40+ passes since Eli Manning in 2007.

When I heard Freeman was starting, I was surprised. He only joined the team 13 days ago and the game was being played away at the Giants on Monday night. What could possibly go wrong!? Now a bunch of what-if's will be raised if Cassel or Ponder could have won this game. I'd like to know:

a.) Who's idea was it to sign him.

b.) Who's idea was it to start him so soon?

c.) Are the Vikings trying to get the 1st round pick?

We will only truly know until one of those suits gets fired, and it only takes one of those suits to be honest about it.

  4. Oh I'm certain he knows about them, and how couldn't he; he is surrounded by a huge staff of talented personnel. Yet somehow not one of them mentioned, "Uhh Bill, you know we can't push our own guys in the back, right?... Uhh Bill, you know we can't steal plays from the opposing team, right?"

The level of micro-management the Pats do is insane, yet they miss such obvious rule flaws? The Pats consistently find suitors to trade down in the draft and they sign/trade like crazy. I also remember when they cleverly "stole" Jake Ballard from the Giants. Yet somehow in all that micro-management of tiny details, the Patriots never read the rule-book? I don't buy it.

  5. That Cowboy vs. Eagles game with Nick Foles getting knocked out got me thinking how far the Eagles have fallen. At least Philly had some consistency back in the Reid+McNabb days. Now? Not so much. Meanwhile, they have to watch Andy Reid light it up with what was once an awful Chiefs team who remains undefeated and now Philly fans have to raise a bunch of what-if's.

  6. Lol only a couple more weeks until Brady shreds that thing you guys call a defense

I don't know why you bother to post on these forums acting like that. Even in your sig, why do you have to point out that Peyton Manning has 11 playoff losses that are the most in NFL history? Are you intentionally trying to start a flame war? This is a Colts forum. Dont bring that trash in here.

  7. I'd go pass heavy, then run on short yardage. Even if they suspect it, Richardson is very good on short yardage situations. He seems lazy on 1st & 10, maybe because he cant smell the 1st down marker. Guy couldn't even catch the easy screen pass when it hit square in the hands.

If we need to run on long downs and distances, put Brown in and run the draw play. Brown has excellent acceleration after the hand-off and can burst it up the middle for big gains, but he needs the space to do it.

  8. It sucks that his first game will be against the best defense in the nfl (imo) as a road game.  But I really liked what I saw of him in preseason over the last couple of years.  Will be interesting.

Not only that, Arrowhead Stadium last week broke the record for loudest crowd noise, set by the Seahawks in their playoff game against the Saints. If Keenum had any struggles in practice, they will be magnified 20-fold in this game. The Chief fans are so pumped at having a still undefeated team after last season's debacle, that they will put out a ton of noise every home game they can, at least until they lose a game. Plus, Andy Reid is a defensive mastermind and will exploit Keenum's inexperience to the fullest.

  9. 1. Are we playing real, championship-STYLE (not the won-loss record, the style)football now?

^ We're playing the style of football that wins playoff games, which is more than I can say for our older style. In playoffs, everyone's adrenaline, nerves, and emotion are at an all-time high, especially in the Super Bowl, which caters more towards emotional positions, like defense. This is what the Colts of old lacked.

    2. Does Peyton Manning play football the wrong way to win ultimate titles?

^ Peyton plays excellent football. He has proven you do not need to be a mobile QB to win football games, even today.

    3. Were we winners as I thought or weren't we really losers when Manning was here?

^ Manning is not the cause of the majority of our loses. It was either from bad coaching (*cough* Caldwell), bad GM'ing, and bad philosophies. For all intents, Manning did the best with what he had.

    4. Did Irsay let Manning go, in small part, because he didn't like his style of play.

^ Nah, it was because Manning said Irsay would be crazy not to take Luck and Luck is a once in a lifetime QB. Irsay gave Manning a lot of input in this decision. Irsay even drove Manning to the airport. Irsay was even a bit emotional for the cameras at that time. If Irsay truly didn't like Manning, he would have worn it more on his sleeve.

    5. Do teams that win during the regular season but lose consistently in the post-season simply lack character?

^ They give it their best effort. No one likes to lose. They had character, but it doesn't measure up to a team with proper playoff caliber tendencies.

  10. It was a Monday night game where Indy had to travel across the country to San Diego. The stadium noise clearly presented problems for the offense. Running the ball is your best option in this regard, especially early, because it takes the crowd out of it, gets the offense warmed up, sets up the play-action, and it's easier to communicate the play-call on a run play than the complexities of a pass play and all its designed routes.
