  1. You are mistaken. I have given you the same reasons why I do not accept any gossip about Manning's rehab unless it is from one of these sources:

    1) Manning

    2) Irsay

    3) Condon

    4) the docs, trainers and coaches who oversee Manning's rehab.

and polian wasn't overseeing his recovery when he was with the colts???

i guess irsay is a better judge of talent than one of the best gm's in the history of the nfl. i remember how bad the colts were when he was the colt gm. hey, maybe some team will take your advise and have a doctor evaluate qb's throwing ability.

your excuses are just plain silly now.

  2. I guess you didn't understand me when I said that I am waiting for more substantive reports that quote either Irsay or Manning.

Polian is not Irsay. Polian is not Manning.

  3. Until your comment, I chose not to post on this report because it is more of the same gossip, positive or negative coming from people who heard it from other people who allegedly saw this or that. The report did not quote either Irsay or Manning. So believe as you will. I am waiting for more substantive reports that quote Irsay or Manning.

polian saw him throw and spoke to what HE saw. there is no "gossip, positive or negative coming from people who heard it from other people who allegedly saw this or that". don't let facts get in the way of you anti manning posts.

  4. This clearly means that the Panthers want to sign Peyton as soon as the Colts cut him (they are working out the contract details now), and then trade Cam Newton to the Giants for Eli. They will then lobby the competition committee this offseason to allow for play with two balls and invent the double-QB offense. The Panthers will score the first double TD in NFL history. Do I have a future as a sports journalist?

you must be that credible sourse close to the team that is always mentioned by talking heads.

  5. I have been a Colts fan for more than 50 years and the last decade has been the best period during that entire time. Manning and Irsay have made that possible and I respect them for it. I have watched Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana and others switch teams late in their careers and it just never seemed right. I don't want to see Manning leave, but I also don't want a decade like we had after the Colts moved to Indy.

The real issue is, I have no control over that. What good does it do to worry about something over which I have no control? The longer we live, the more we find out that getting stressed out over stuff we have no control over accomplishes nothing except damage to our health. This is particularly true when what we are talking about is nothing more than a form of entertainment.

Manning and Irsay will reach an agreement. We have nothing to do about that so we might as well sit back and enjoy the ride.

this is a post that i could have made except that i have only been a fan for 40 years.

  6. Ok I have gotten mixed answers to this thread, but for those who agree with me that Freeney could and should be traded to bring us more young talent...

What could we expect to get back in a trade for Freeney?

leaving your mathis franchise and trade, that you said happens all the time, out now?

it's not that hard to admitt you were wrong and will get people off your back about it.

  7. so you are saying i subconsciously want to listen to michael irvin attempt to put words together into sentences

i would rather hear an ex athlete's opinion on the sporthe played, even if it's not perfect speach, than a book worm reporter that never played a sport!

  8. I would agree with this, except the same people who claim this positivity from another player means "nothing," will say that the baseless babble from ESPN analysts is "another sign he's done."

You can't have it both ways, guys.

This is a guy who's watching him play. The "experts" have seen nothing, because they aren't being allowed into the training sessions. They haven't been getting info from Peyton or Irsay, or anyone close to them. They are opening every piece with "I think..."

Even if Adam's comments don't mean anything, that doesn't mean the fans can't be optimistic, right? The response was such a vehement attempt to destroy any hope it generated for anyone, but doing so the other way (ie: responding with hope to a negatively opened OP) gets frowned upon as denying opinions.

Just doesn't seem like fair play...

    very well said!

  9. No I am not. By stating that you have been watching QBs throw for 20 years in direct response to the statement that AV has been watching QBs throw for 20 years, you are in fact comparing your 20 years of watching to his.

he's never going to admit it. you see people like this all the time on forums. most people can see it. it's just a waste of time arguing.

  10. I don't think Adam Vinatieri is any expert on throwing and catching the football, or any expert evaluator of QB rehab progress.

he may not be a coach or doctor, but he is a professional footbball player and he has seen him throw. that's a lot better information than anything you have posted.

  11. Why do you think a 36-40 year old QB (the term of his current contract) will be better than he was before? Why do you think a QB coming off 3 neck surgeries will be better than he was before? What is the evidence that this happens? What have the doctors told you that you should believe this?

    http://www.aaos.org/...0/clinical2.asp

facts are there is a very good chance manning can come back. and if he has been playing hurt for some time, like i think, he would be back better. he has shown no signs of a aging qb. he just got hurt like could also happen to a rookie.

  12. There are no reports suggesting Manning will be leaving.

There are no indications he is leaving.

There are only people in the media talking - just talking, with no credible sources, rumors, or statements. Pure, 100% speculation for the point of starting a conversation about the subject.

    i completely agree!!!

media and bloggers have a worse record at being right than weather men.

  13. As a Colts fan since well before 1984 it is disturbing that the previous greats are left to Baltimore. I would actually prefer that the complete history had been brought forward and honored appropriately, or that the complete history had been left in Baltimore, with Indy treated as a new entity (like happened with the Browns/Ravens). This disjointed result we have now - where so many fans can't forget the past, but the team itself would seem to prefer to pretend that it never existed - is disturbing. All Colts fans should be proud of Johnny Unitas and all the rest. The Colts ring of honor should be the envy of the league.

    i completely agree!

  14. Say the draft rolls around and the Colts agree to deal Dwight Freeney to a team like Arizona or some team needing an elite pass rusher for a 2nd and 3rd round pick in the 2012 draft. And they could honestly get more for Freeney.

you are crazy if you think any team is going to give up a 2nd and 3rd or probably more for a one dimensional player that they would have to pay top money to (14 million). you do realize that the colts would still have a 5 million cap hit if he isn't on the team.
