  1. Well since some teams were covering him with their number one corner last year at times and he's had a pro-bowl season for us since then and is thought to be one of the best tightends in football I would say yes.

you are saying other teams put their best cover corner on clark and not wayne??????????

it may have happened on rare occasions, but i don't believe ANY team went into a game saying their top corner was going to be matched up with clarke.

  2. i said this along time ago, i didn't like giving him that much money. he is a good receiving te that can't block. that's not that much different than tamme. so many people told me he isn't that bad of a blocker. people saying he has bad hands is as ridiculous as the people that said he was a good blocker. most of the colts offensive players are over payed because of manning making them look much better than they really are! i have said this for a long time also, and it is being shown to be right on the money now.

  3. Yes, I'm so tired of having linebackers that are small and get pushed around the field. I know you guys love angerer but he gets blown up just like Gary B.

i couldn't agree more! it seems like most of angerer's tackles are 5 yards down field. i have been saying this for a long time.

  4. As for getting a pick for him, he has 0 value (and wont have any value either no matter how he performs) so dont expect anything.

so if manning can't play the first 4 games and collins is leading the nfl in passing, he would have 0 value to a team that has lost their starter to a injury?

  5. Just so you know......Kerry Collins' contract with the Colts is for two years and $14 million.

The deal includes $4 million guaranteed in the form of a $2.5 million signing bonus and 2011 salary of $1.5 million. That's what his deal is and if you think we actually keep him next year and give him 10 mill you have to be crazy. So he's getting 4 mill from us this season.

this is a good contract for the colts! if manning can't play for the first couple games and collins looks really good, they might be able to get a decent draft pick for him when manning gets better.

  6. he will never be a nfl qb, and i said that before he went to ohio state. i remember telling people in his home town when he was a senior, that he should concentrate on playing basketball in college. i would would love to use a late pick on him if he is willing to be a wr.

  7. I recently read this article on NFL.com where they suggested that Mathis and Wayne should be paid more.

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8212d0fe/article/which-underpaid-player-most-deserves-bigger-contract

jayson lacanfora is completely lost in saying "Without his (mathis) production -- and he is one of the three most productive ends in terms of sacks and forced turnovers the past 5-6 years -- Dwight Freeney probably isn't set to make $29 million over the next two years". mathis has disappeared every time freeney is out of the lineup.

how many old wr's are getting big contracts?

  8. i let wayne walk. he will be 34 next year and you can't tie up big money in a old receiver. i would sign mathis. with the salary cap being lowered, you aren't seeing the stupid money being thrown around like the last couple years. i think the colts could keep mathis for a reasonable price. there may not be much of a market for wayne, and the colts could get him very cheap. i don't think wayne would be that good without manning, and everyone knows mathis disapears without freeney on the field.

  9. i agree. moss will un-retire in a heartbeat if a team has wr injuries and want him. that's not that far fetched. i have always felt any activity on a chat board is good, as long as it's not insulting another poster. if posters don't like a thread, it will die on it's own. if it's popular, it should stay. this is a FAN forum, right? let them decide what happens with threads.

  10. maybe the colts are trying to do the same thing as they did with diem. cutting hayden (9 million cap hit), and signing him for much less than the $6-7 million base salary that he would have made the next couple years. this would free up cap space the next couple years (9 and 10 million, minus what they pay him) with freeney and mathis big cap numbers.

  11. i agree with everyone!

why couldn't the colts do something like his site to keep fans informed with accurate salary cap information? i would think it would be very easy for someone in the organization to do.

  12. I've been saying since January that Kelvin Hayden needs to have his contract re-structured. There is NO reason to pay someone that much $$$ for mediocre play. He has been good in the past and he could be in the best form of his career this season, but that remains to be seen. Restructure his contract and put performance bonuses as the primary $$$ portion of it. maybe $2M as a base salary with the ability to make $5M or something to that affect.

saying someone should restructure their contract doesn't make any sense when there is no motivation for the player to do so. why would a player take less money?

  13. diem is in the last year at 5.4 million and you would save all that if he is cut. hayden still has 9 million in bonus money owed him, last years cap number for him was 7.8 million. cutting him doesn't make any sense.
