  1. The d-line getting tremendous pressure on the qb was the only real good thing I saw from the colts this game. I think the pats qb was worried about it the entire game and that is why the colts won. Offense wasn’t good or the rushing defense. Thankfully the pats didn’t just keep running the ball down the colts throat and into the end zone. I was relieved every time the pats went back to pass!
  2. The colts offensive line was getting great push the scoring drive and Taylor was getting good gains, then for most of the rest of the game the line wasn’t getting that push. It’s mostly the same players, what happens? That’s the most frustrating thing I have about this offense. If the line can get the push, the colts have the best backs to take advantage of that and the qb wouldn’t have to do much. Maybe they need more physical lineman instead of pass blocking ones that would compliment their best weapons.
  3. I have always thought that, he isn’t quick enough for a rush end.
  4. this is why a have said the colts don’t need to draft a wr in the top 2 rounds. I think all their receivers would look a lot better with a good, let alone top qb.
  5. Getting hurt could be a blessing in disguise. He has the least amount of experience and is the most raw of the top qb’s. He probably should have sit at least for a little while like Levis did. That may have been what helped Levis look so comfortable as a nfl qb.
  6. to think that a professional athlete that has nothing else to do but train can only rehab a injury is crazy. I haven’t heard him say that, probably because he was training along with the rehabbing.
  7. i might remember one post about him coasting, all the others are just saying they don’t think he is worth the money he is getting. Completely different. I am sure every player is being evaluated all season and what they are payed, are they going to be a free agent, could they be replaced, etc. is a part of the process. The decision will be made after the season, but everything should be looked at by a good gm.
  8. but you are here on a forum doing just that, complementing or criticizing what the team is doing. There’s nothing wrong with that. But why say you”just want to watch and win”?
  9. If he didn’t have that huge contract, I don’t think we would be having this conversation. I think the colts over payed again and I feel that’s on the owner that’s more of a fan than a football mindset. He likes to keep colts players even if it may not be the best long term for the team.
  10. lol. Nothing like facts getting in the way of what you want to be a good theory.
  11. they aren’t bad in pass protection, but the run blocking isn’t good. They just don’t get much push and it shows in short yardage plays. With the caliber of backs the colts have, they should be much better.
  12. A gm can miss on a first round pick and hit on a 3&5. The next year can hit on a 1 and miss the next couple rounds. Nothing is for sure in the draft! Gm’s hitting or missing is probably more luck than anything else.
  13. I haven’t seen a jets game, but I’m sure it’s not just the lb’s. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. If you don’t have a weak part of the defense, everyone will look better. I have a feeling the colt lb’s would look better and the d-line would have more sacks if they were playing with quality db’s.
  14. he did it in the cfl! You never know, it’s happened before. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/chad-kelly-becomes-highest-paid-player-in-the-cfl
  15. this is the issue I have said for years with colts lb’s that have had high tackle numbers but they are mostly down field. So many here just use tackle numbers to say how good a defender is. The same with other stats that can be misleading for other positions. That’s why scouts watch games and not just look up stats!!
  16. I don’t have a problem watching the nfl. The nba is a lot harder to watch with all the soft crybabies. Stick to watching the ncaa!
  17. but would those players been worth it if there was a unlimited salary cap? Maybe. The cap does come into all decisions made by every team, it has to. The cap is why Washington traded both starting defensive ends.
  18. I have heard that from every rookie qb that is a better runner than passer. It’s rare that it happens. He may be the rare exception.
  19. those things happen to every qb in every game, there are defenders on the field that are there for a reason.
  20. I agree with the safety thing, but you wouldn’t do that with all the lb’s. You still have to stop the run also in the nfl if you want to win games. Having one bigger lb on the field I don’t see hurting you and it doesn’t mean they are of no use against the passing game.
  21. I was going to say the same thing. Wilson was a very accurate passer in college the games I saw and had a very good arm! I don’t remember him being considered a running qb coming out of college. The knock on him was he was too short!
  22. Why do you need 3 small lb’s for coverage? Instinks are more important in zone coverage and 3 lb’s matching up in man coverage is very rare. Unless you have a dominant and big d-line, small lb’s are going to let teams run down the field.
  23. I have said for years the colts lb’s are too small. Not saying they all need to be big, but at least one should be big and physical.
