  1. Very realistic - I like it.  Personally, I'm in love with Tyus Bowser in the 2nd, and I think he is what everyone hopes Reddick will be (a twitched up toy for a D coordinator).  So, I'm starting to go CB in the 1st and Bowser in the 2nd.  But I agree with your draft priorities 100%.

Keion Adams, LB/EDGE, from Western Michigan has a visit scheduled with the Colts:

Colts met with Shaquill Griffin, CB, Central Florida at his pro-day yesterday. Griffin has good size and length and had an amazing showing at the combine.

Colts were at Penn State's pro-day too:

A Colts scout had a quick chat with ILB Brandon Bell at the pro-day:

A scout from the Colts was at Boston College's pro-day and according to reports was paying special attention to QB Patrick Towels. I have no idea why, here are his stats.:

This is really weird - I just put Griffin on my ongoing mock as a Colt 4th rounder today and made Towles an UCFA of ours. Of course, it was after reading about their PD results, so the events are related...

  3. I love the trade down option this year, b/c it's a deep draft and our new GM would love to build through the draft.  While the deep draft would seem to limit the # of trade partners (who may prefer to sit pat and select in a really deep draft), the exception seems to be OL-deficient teams.  A playoff team like the Seahawks may want to trade up to get Forrest Lamp.

Personally, I would love to parlay our 1st and 2nd into Kevin King, Joe Mixon, and Tyus Bowser, somehow.  I know many here expect those first two to be available rounds later, but I wouldn't be surprised if the both went in the 1st...

Elijah Mcguire is a nice back to me also.  He can do it all especially receiving.  Nice running style.  Nobody really talks about him and I think he'll probably get drafted late or maybe even undrafted.  He's got some skills though.

Yeah, McGuire is a really good receiver.  He was also hampered by a foot injury this last season, with the resulting tape hurting his draft position.  If he doesn't end up being a sleeper feature back, he should at least be a 3rd down back type in the future...

  5. Very realistic.  I'm in the minority,  but I am not even sure Mixon will make it out of the 1st round - I think it will go Fournette, McCaffrey, then Mixon, with Cook falling into the 2nd (tragically unathletic combine).  Props for Golladay - my favorite possession receiver pick.  We need to get Luck one of those.

Yeah Walker is one of the mid round guys I like. Along with Anzalone, his injury concerns withstanding.

By round, there will be a ton of good options for the Colts for ILB

Round 1: Foster would be a pipe dream. Could get Reddick

    Round 2: Davis, Cunningham, McMillan

Rounds 3-5: Walker, Anzalone, Beckwith, Boulware

As you said, those three 4th's will come huge. There's lots of talent to choose from.

I would add that Tyus Bowser would be a great athletic ILB (though most call him an edge rusher) in the 2nd or 3rd.  And I am becoming a big fan of Jordan Evans of Oklahoma in the 4th.  Thought of as athletically limited until he rocked his PD...

  7. The big things left to do is get a starting ILB (Minter) and CB (Claiborne).  Throw in Poe and we still have spent just a fraction of our cap space.  Draft:

Trade down 10 spots or so and pick up an extra 2nd.

    1) Kevin King, CB, U-Dub.  Ballard has a type, and this is it!  He's going higher than draftniks think.

    2) Dion Dawkins, OG, Temple.  Ballard wants an elite RG.

2T) Tyus Bowser, ILB, Houston.  The athletic coverage LB we've talked about.

    3) Trey Hendrickson, OLB, Fla. Atl.  Or Basham or Phillips, if there's a run on pass-rushers.

    4) Brian Hill, RB, Wyoming.  Wanted Mixon, but someone will take him late 1st/early 2nd.

4 (NE) Kenny Golladay, WR, N.Illinois.  Will be a great possession receiver.

    4C) Delano Hill, S, Michigan.

    5) Tanzel Smart, DL, Tulane.  Late round flyer on a pass-rushing DL whose combine proved he is a better football player than athlete.

  8. Y'know, I watched three U-Dub games this year to see other players, and each time I came away impressed with King.  This isn't to say he's better than Sidney Jones, but he made play after play as teams were avoiding Jones.  He was fantastic at playing the ball.

I'd love to come out of the first two rounds (somehow) with King, Trey Hendickson, and Tyus Bowser.  Trading down to 25 in the first would net us another second rounder...

Thats funny - I'm 180 degrees from you.

We knew Takk had speed.  But he literally failed to follow instructions and didn't perform three of the drills correctly today.  I saw maybe 5 total mistakes today from all participants.  And three were by Takk.  That makes me really worry about his ability to be coached, attention to detail, whatever you want to call it.  And he's as raw technique-wise as they come.  And that doesn't get into his shoulder.   I came away the exact opposite as you - pre-combine I was a huge Takk guy.  Today, I wouldn't draft him at 15.

I was just looking for athleticism in those drills.  I see your point about his mistakes, but his numbers impressed me more than his drills turned me off...
