  1. Pay the man. Taylor in 2021 was no doubt the best at running the football.in the NFL. Led the league in about every category. Long runs , yardage after contact plus way more yards than his competition.. He was hurt in 2022 and still was pretty good. He played with 2 horrible QB's and the O line regressed. Those that say he didn't elevate the offense beyond what it was the year before , bewilder me a bit. Reminds me of what Branch Rickey told Ralph Kinder in 1952. Kiner after leading the league for the 7th straight time asked the Pirates GM Brach Rickey for a raise. Brach Rickey asked ,"where did we finish last year." Kiner replied "last." Ricky then said "well , we can finish last without you" and refused the request for a raise. It's called a "rabbit hole." So I pretty much agree with your side of the argument and yes Superman is correct when he states a team cannot win with bad QB play. BUT... why should Taylor be punished for the Colts bringing in horrible QB's ? How is say Pittman worth 20 million a year and Taylor not woth 12-13 ? I guess it come down to some of us think we can replace Taylor with some 3rd round rookie. Or some will point to the short "lives" of RBs in the NFL. I'm not going to research it but IMO , the really good backs certainly can last 7-8 years. Taylor takes care of his body and other than the high ankle sprain has held up well.
  2. The new rule pretty much kills that strategy .Teams now get the ball placed at the 25 yard line if they FC the kickoff inside their 25. It's pretty obvious they think the kickoff play is too dangerous.
  3. Would you consider being my wingman ?
  4. About the same chance as I have getting a date with Scarlette Johansson
  5. This better got 250-1 on his bet. If the book where he bet this has the correct odds that would mean the odds are .004 of him winning the bet. that would team he has less than 1/2 of 1% .
  6. The prop bet would work something like this . The rushing yards for the RB say is 85 yards. The side that looks like it's the better would be something like .. you bet $120 to win $100. Say that was over 85 yards. Then if you bet "under" 85 yards , you would wager $100 to win $100. So likely that $1000 bet returned at most $1000 and at least around $800.
  7. I didn't see that report and I'm happy to hear that. Also , I guess if this involved more than one Colt player , Rodgers , it would be reported differently. So , I agree that my worries are more than likely unfounded.
  8. I'm just hoping that the 4-5 other players being suspended for gambling do not include any Colts other than Rodgers. The "couple low 4 figure bets" would seem to open the possibility that those bets were not all Rodger's wagers. His normal bet was said to be 50 to $100.
  9. Hopefully not as I posted earlier that those large bets might mean more Colt players placed a bet... https://nfltraderumors.co/breaking-colts-cb-isaiah-rodgers-expected-to-be-suspended-for-entire-season/ Mod update: Two Colts players suspended, waived https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/37934061/nfl-suspends-four-players-gambling-violations
  10. I'm just throwing stuff out there . The information we get is really limited . However , IMO , just the fact that he bet on NFL games from the Colt facility and the fact that his bets included at least 1 or 2 Colt games , he's in for something more than a 1 year suspension. Hopefully I'm wrong but seems like Ridley got a year for less .
  11. I believe you as I thought it was out of character for you to make a bad remark. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
  12. What's the point of that remark ? Since you ask , I was casino blackjack player that counted cards for a few years. Before that I booked sports bets. Does that make me a 'pro?" Depends on your definition of a "pro." As I said in the post you make the snide remark too , it's nothing that I'm proud of . If I had to do it over , I would have spent the time it took to learn counting cards and playing in the casinos on something like learning the real estate business or equity markets.
  13. If you figure the 32 teams play 17 games that would be 272 games played. Add to that you can bet not only the point spreads but the over and under are also popular. So double the 272 and your up to 544 possible bets to make. Add to that parlays and teasers and you have a plethora of bets to make on NFL games. None of those bets are complicated and one doesn't have to be a sophisticated gambler to understand or place those bets. This doesn't even include playoff games or bets for players to reach certain "numbers." The site I bet on has numerous bets you can make such as odds on say Taylor rushing for 90 yards. The odds might be something like if you bet over that number , you lay $120 to win $100. The odds might be if you bet he doesn't rush for at least 90 yards , your bet would be $100 to win a $100. They have similar bets for a QB say throwing for over or under 21/2 TDS. I'm not saying that it's not possible he was entering weekly fantasy football contest online . Just saying that it's very easy to total hundreds of bets in an NFL season. I'm not proud that I grew up betting sports and later adding casino games to that but I do have a good idea of how this crap works.
  14. I'm pretty sure I read that he "bet on games and it included betting on Colt games." Also I read something that inferred one of the larger bets was on the Houston game. If this was accurate, it would be unlikely that it was just weekly fantasy football. But like you say , we are only getting bits and pieces , so we are are all just speculating. If I had to guess , I would say he gets more than a one year suspension. Probably indefinitely suspended with the right to re-apply a set amount of time passes. I'm just hoping the bigger bets do not implicate any teammates.
  15. Yes , could be that or it could be that he just thought he had a sure bet. What I'm saying is it's not a normal betting pattern. My hope is that it has nothing to do with him placing a bet for another player or players. Most likely not but IMO this a taking a long time.
  16. Sorry for the extra zero's as you are correct. 6 figures would be $100,000 and larger and I didn't mean to assert that. Point is a $50 better wouldn't normally step a bet up to $1000 or larger.
  17. This is taking an awfully long time. Hopefully that bet or two in the low 6 figures hasn't spurred an investigation of teammates betting also. Not real likely that a $50 better made a bet that size.
  18. Adding to this bonfire is the fact that it was reported that there were 2 bets that were in the low thousands. There were hundreds fro $50 to $100 which is pretty meager , but where do those 2 larger bets fit in. I believe it was also said at least 1 on those larger bets were on a Colt game. My guess would be that maybe he bet for a few other guys also ? One of the wagers was said to be on the 2nd Houston game. These 2 bigger bets could be what is possibly leading to what you describe. I feel sorry for the kid.
  19. Doesn't seem like 60 years ago when I watched those games. I didn't get to see the Colts all that much as I grew up in central NY. As to you watching Dickerson , you're just a kid.
  20. Old would be seeing Unitas to Berry when it actually happened.
