He's been tried, and cut and tried and cut.
Exactly my point. At least the team has worked with Painter, Painter has worked under Manning...then if our only 2 choices are the backups we have? Painter is still the obvious choice.
-
Really? There is a HUGE difference depending on whom is at QB. At this point if people watch Painter and think he is an NFL QB then they really need to step away from the bar and the bottle.
But yet another untried backup is going to make a difference?

If Peyton is healthy or even close to being so, trade that pick for some others so we can get some darned linemen!
-
Enough Enough with all 'gun' jokes. This is about the Colts ROH.
-
Hide your kids!... He's loose!
He can be loose anyday if I can have that guitar!
-
I think he is great. Owners really shouldn't be terribly hands-on (Jerry Jones, Dan Snyder, the late great Al Davis for examples). But he is supportive and fun and from all I hear is wonderful to his employees (not just the higher staff).
So I bet he ranks fairly high.

oooohhhh....I just got the pic now. Duh! :nono2:

Well, it is true. I know the industry is a "what have you done for me lately" type thing, but not everyone thinks like that. Maybe some people have a sense of loyalty and consider who has brought their team and city a trophy and a new stadium and tons of revenue and so much more that I cannot even list (oh, I forgot...the children's hospital and foundation).
I don't care who you are, you cannot deny the absolute fact that Peyton Manning makes this team. It is unsettling how MUCH so and how badly they perform without him. It should not be all on him. But he makes all of them (both on the field and on the sidelines - yes, I mean coaches) better.
He came here a rookie, stepped on the field a rookie, turned this franchise into a consistent winner and played every game until this season when he was forced (after playing hurt for quite some time now and STILL winning) to not play. Look where we are. ((insert toilet emoticon here))
No, just having Peyton back isn't going to fix everything. But not having Peyton is going to break it all.
Anyone who wishes to have Peyton play for another team? :ttth: Truly? Really? Yeah...right. :nono2:

Yes Peyton may play for 4-5 or 6 more years...I just hope it's not in a Colt uniform...
You know...if a Patriots fan posted this, they would be called a troll. :eyebrow:

Yep ..and yep..
Now back to fun! :disco:

JUST A NOTE: updated the original welcome message with current info

Welcome Port Adelaide!

Peyton will be back for a few (if not several) more years. I hate to see a good young QB be wasted.

wow, talk about stacking the deck to favor your argument. How about I give you 2 options:
1: Colts trade #1 pick, draft a defense and bring in competent coaches. They draft a QB somewhere after #1 overall and get a very good QB...not the next Manning but the next Rodgers or Brees. The defense is vastly improved and alone is enough to carry the team into the playoffs but we actually have an offense to go with it. This leads to 3 or more SB wins in the next 12 years
or
2. Colts draft Andrew Luck and he turns out to be a bust.
If I give you only those 2 options, which do you pick?
I choose door number 1 please. Can I catch the plane to Fantasy Island? Oh dear...just told my age. I kid, I kid.

Having to clean up :clean: what is supposed to be fun thread... ;)

Almost to my mom's and glad I cannot see this game cause my nerves couldn't take it. Lol.

Thanks. Bad reception area and NFL.com died.

What is the score...sorry on the road to see my mom. Again. Is it bad?

I feel that if you won't say it to someone's face, then don't post it to a public board where it could get back to them. The net provides too much anonymity at times so that folks feel it is okay to be cruel.

There used to be 2-3 forums ago.
No clue anymore.
Yep. That is what I was going to say, Bav. I know we had a couple on our old board. Some even video-gamed (no, I am not telling the gamer tags ) with a few members. As for here, no clue. But you never know who is reading...including the media.
That is why I always try to be careful what I say and stuff. ;) You know how people can be. :flirty:

Peyton has always said he would only play for one team and would retire a Colt. Irsay isn't going to be disloyal to Peyton. He will be here until he is ready to retire.
-
Since we are talking college, then this had to be moved to draft.
-
Coming from someone who lives in Jacksonville.. TRUST me, we don't want Rashean Mathis
Trust me, from someone in Tennessee...we don't want Cortland Finnegan!

you never know...we could be this year's underdogs and comeback kings. <---PG's positive thinking
Why Should Painter Start This Weekend?

Peyton has certainly been a band-aid on many wounds of the team. I think that has become very apparent this season, as well as the fact of just how great he is.
He should win MVP ... no joke.
