  1. This was a thread originally intended to be fun when our new version of this forum opened. Only when a troll necroposted did it take a nasty turn. It won't happen again. Apologies to all of our friends here who enjoy our humor (Pats and Colts alike).

  2. We welcome fans of all teams here because life (and football discussions) would be boring without variety.

However, the next couple of weeks are bound to be a bit stressful for Colts fans - as if the season hasn't been already. Our team is undergoing a major shift and things are a bit murky regarding the future.

Indy is hosting the Superbowl and the Colts are not playing in it. In fact, it is currently home field to the Patriots and another Manning is suiting up as the visiting QB. This has to be very difficult for the team and I know it is to the fans. However, we do extend congratulations for your AFCC win and we thank you for the tourism dollars you are contributing to the city. :)

Anyway, while we do welcome you and extend all invitations for you to engage in the discussions here with your own opinions and points of view, please do so from a standpoint of respect for the fact that this IS a Colts' fan forum. This is our house and you are our welcomed visitors.

Same rules apply to everyone here, but visiting fans need to be extra careful to follow them closely. This is especially true if you are new to the board as our rules are quite different from most places.

Colts' fans, be gracious. Don't bait, don't take the bait and if any of our new visitors turn out to be trolls (regardless of their team persuasion), don't respond and just report.

New users also need to be aware that any usernames that fall under the category of baiting, trolling, insulting, etc...will not be accepted (regardless of team affiliation). The user will be required to choose a different posting ID. Thanks in advance for understanding.

We want everyone in the forum - fans from all teams - to be able to enjoy the final part of this season to best of our ability. The more peaceful we can be, the better the atmosphere on the forum.

    Thanks for your cooperation.

  3. That makes sense.

It also makes sense that the team was not functioning well without Peyton this past season. I don't think that was down to the players and perhaps neither does the new GM.

When Peyton comes back, if there is a new system and better coaching/play calling...can you imagine how well things can go? Perhaps up until now, Peyton and Co. just had to "make do".

I don't know about the rest of the group of players that stay on, but as saavy as Peyton is he will not have any trouble learning a new system or working with new folks. He had to do that already when Mudd and Moore left.p Most of the core coaching group were still here, but there were changes.

Irsay has said categorically that is Peyton can play he is playing here. I don't know why the rest of the speculation. Unless Peyton retires due to injury or he himself chooses to go elsewhere (which he has said in the past he would not do), I don't get the core of the debate.

    :dunno:

  4. You know, many times when you carry on something - even to deny it or make "no comment" - you are still giving it airtime and continuation. Maybe Peyton and Irsay both want it to go away, especially with the other Colts news happening and with the big stuff with Eli and the GIants.

I am sure Peyton is sick and tired of talking about his neck.

    :dunno:

  5. Take some responsibility for once and get over it.

You were with the people saying Jim Irsay didn't have the guts to get rid of Polian or Caldwell. I said he is a lot shrewder than people think he is. You laughed then. Yes I laughed now. It is what it is. History was on my side and I knew it then. Irsay will not stand for losing. I don't care that you didn't believe me then or even if you believe me now. That's your prerogative. Just stop crying about it.

You were wrong. Just move on.

You were right. GoColts said he was wrong. What do you want?

Would a cookie make you happy? Well, here you go. :cake:

Oops, am I bad. That wasn't a cookie. It was cake.

Now, you can tell me how wrong I was.

Maybe that will help... somehow doubt it though.

  6. Wasn't Aaron Rodgers the one who sat for so long waiting to be drafted while the football nation went so gaga over Alex Smith, who was drafted #1?

Now, Alex has a shot this yea r after starting right away and playing...not so well for a long time...but Aaron did sit back and learn for a number of years.

He has ring and another great run this past season under his belt. Plenty more possible in his future. Most folks looking back would choose Rodgers over Smith anyday.

Too bad you cannot have hindsight as foresight, but it doesn't work that way.

Will Luck and RG3 become the next Smith/Rodgers pair? :dunno:

  7. I prefer Shah Rukh Khan any day, any way....

But that is beside the point. ;)

I wouldn't make it as a fan under his definition since I am displaced and not even in Indy. :dunno:

What a way to diss a large part of your fanbase...a friend of mine locally is (was???) a Jags fan because he was originally from Jax. lmao Maybe I can finally convert him. :heh: *tease*
