  1. "...the Ravens will try as hard as they can to keep inside linebacker Daryl Smith around. Smith was one of the best linebackers in the league last season, and he was an absolute steal for GM Ozzie Newsome last offseason on a one-year deal. The former Jacksonville Jaguars star lit up the stat sheet with 123 tackles, five sacks, three picks, and a whopping 19 passes defended, and he also played a key role on the defense as a leader. Smith is somebody this team needs to lock up, because he would be a touted free agent this offseason." - Baltimore Sun

  2. Was released by Baltimore. Made a comeback after a serious spinal cord injury. Started 10 games and had 50 tackles and one forced fumble.

"McClain persevered through a difficult childhood in Philadelphia, where he was homeless at times. He went from an undrafted free agent to a starter alongside Ray Lewis on one of the game’s most vaunted defenses. Not the most physically gifted player, McClain became a key performer on defense and special teams. His career was in jeopardy after he suffered a spinal cord contusion late in the 2012 season, but McClain worked hard to get back on the field and would up starting the Ravens’ final 10 games last season." - Baltimore Sun

  3. Oh, for crying out loud.....I wasn't talking about geographical size. I was talking about being a black man in a smaller, more rural, more white market.

Have you been to New England?! Have you been to the outlying areas of Boston? Because I have.

The actual city itself is smaller in population than Indianapolis with 618,000 residents and 24.4% of that being "Black". Whereas Indianapolis has a population of 820,445 and 27.5% of that number is "black".

Perhaps your incorrect, preconceived notions are the issue...and not my response. ;)

  4. I would think McNary would get the nod over Muamba. McNary was pretty good in the Nickel last year. If for some reason we were to sign Jackson, I would think McNary would still be the Nickel.

    Yip!

You can`t always get what you want

But if you try sometimes well you just might find

    You get what you need.

He may be the best available to US when it gets down and dirty. Go Colts!

Freeman is an exception. Most of those guys from Canada don't last too long. I'm not judging Muamba. I haven't seen him play. I just don't think it would be wise to assume he's our guy.

I'm not worried about playing Muamba, and I say give him a shot. How many people do you think said the same about Freeman?

There are better options than him, but at least this shows we are interested in an ILB. I was worried we would go with Muamba.

Am I the only one wondering if Muamba could possibly transition to Safety?

    He's 6-0, 238 pounds. Landry is 6-0 226 pounds.

That'd be a vicious hit coming across the middle! ;)

  5. My primary concern is not paying him... it would be could Talib find happiness in a smaller market like Indianapolis.

If you can live well in Green Bay,  you can live really, really well in Indy!

Aside from the fact that 'adults' work for money and not geographical market size, Indianapolis has a metropolitan area population of 2,310,360. Not sure I'm understanding how that is off-putting.

    Really?

  6. It looks like Michael Bennett might be hitting FA is a few days.

Bennett is the 4th highest rated edge rusher in FA this year. He's extremely versatile, lining up at 43 DE, 43 DT, 34 OLB, 34 DE, and 34 NT at times this season, and has been effective at virtually every position.

During the regualr season he pass rushed 434 times and notched 11 sacks, 17 hits, and 47 hurries. His pass rush productivity was only surpassed by Robert Quinn and Cameron Wake.

He turned 28 year old in November.

He's a perfect fit. Are his contract demands? ;)

  7. i wouldn't draft him. i don't think he is a nfl player.

I'm a little up in the air on it. The guy has the physical ability. So at least he could be a suicide squad guy. But, is he teachable? It looks like the straight line rushing ability is there. But can he be taught to play in space? He may well can...but those questions are what earns personnel people millions or get's them fired.

I wish him the best. But I do not see him in a LB spot for us because as of right now, he cannot play in space. He is a pure pass rusher. No different than Jerry Hughes or Dwight Freeney. And if either one of those guys could've dropped back or stayed stout against the run, they'd still be here no matter what their projected costs might have been.

  8. why don't you guys like Darius Butler? We do need a #2 corner but DB is a very good slot corner.

I said cut Toler, implying Butler would still be be the slot corner if they were to sign both Davis and Talib.

Nonsense. Toler played the slot to perfection in Arizona. We moved him to the 2. I personally do not have a problem with him at the 2. But so many of you belly-ache over him, perhaps moving him back to the slot would appease the whiners. ;)
