We could have won that game by at least 10 without the mistakes, we also could have been blown out because of quitting after the mistakes... a lot of HEART in that win. Really proud of my guys.

Chargers still play Denver and NE back to back out in sunny california..That could change everybody's season, GF
Your freaky Chargers always seem to make a charge late in the year..
We could be as good as 12-4 if we won out (not very likely) but more likely will be 10-6. I hope we don't, but I think we drop two of the last 5. That s if we get guys back and stay healthy, if the injury bug hits again... we'll be out of contention :-(
Last game of the year is KC in KC. If that game matters by then, it's going to be super intense.

The Browns, hands down. iiiiiccccckkkkk! Could be that I detest orange and pairing brown with it just makes it all the worse.
Throwbacks worst offender? The Steelers by a mile.

I saw he was out, but not why. So sad...

I totally tune out when you guys start your rants about Manning and Brady - good grief but you guys can go on and on about nothing. Just sayin'

Fighting through all of the holding that was going on prior to the catch, practically doing a back bend and STILL coming down with it behind his head with 3 fingers - what's so special about that?!!!
-
Don't count my Chargers out - we're getting healthy. Yesterday's game had flashes of brilliance and a few mistakes, but the team's heart won in the end. Having Mathews back, even part time has put the offense back on the map.
I was looking at the standings today and I can't ever remember as much of a disparity between winning and losing teams. There are SO MANY 7-4 records right now.

How often does NE "loose" against Miami in New England?
Turn their offense "loose" or "lose" the game? Oh the difference an "o" makes ;)

we're up the mountain. We had season tickets so we got to enjoy watching him develop. We don't anymore because of my husband's knee.Totally agree. Living in Clovis, I rooted for both the Carr brothers. Too bad David got stuck in Houston, which destroyed him.

Derek is a good guy. Loved rooting for him at Fresno state. Thanks a bunch raiders!

Go Raiders! Now it's time for you to become a wrecking ball ;-)... if you can... please???!

Congratulations, Mike Scifres, AFC special teams player of the week. 5 punts inside the 15 with landing at 2, 4, 6, 8 & 12 yard lines. 9 punts in all: http://www.chargers.com/news/article-1/Congrats-Mike-Scifres-Punter-Named-AFC-ST-Player-of-the-Week/b9ba2bb8-f93a-4177-82e4-2f2acfa944ee

I didn't get to see the game on Sunday. I just set up the TV to catch the NFL rewind version. I'm looking forward to seeing that.

rivers is anything but selfish and I never make excuses. I was simply bringing information you guys probably didn't know.Playing through an injury that affects your game isn't being tough, it's dumb & selfish
Dumb because there is a such thing as "life after football" & selfish because you're not giving the team the best chance to win if you're not giving 100%
So, injury or no injury..... That's no excuse/reason to use

You guys likely wouldn't have heard what we locals have, as I don't think the national press picked up on it. In a post game interview, Antonio Gates told the press that Rivers is the 2nd toughest guy he knows (himself being number 1, said with a twinkle in his eye) He mentioned his playing a playoff game with no ACL. He also said that Rivers has had a severe rib injury the past 4 weeks or so. Rivers, of course denies it (but he NEVER tells the truth about his own physical health). I tried to find the video to link it but for "some reason" it's no longer on the Charger's website!
As we've watched him during this 3 game loss period, his motion has been really off and his accuracy has been deeply impacted. He was hit REALLY hard twice during the Raiders' game. His legs were rolled up on and he was hit hard from behind without being aware someone was coming at him. So much that if you watched the game, I was certain he was going to have to come out but somehow managed to keep in the game.
If/when he's healthy again, I would expect to see the Rivers' numbers and performance of the first 6 games of the season and we could be back in the thick of things. We're only a game behind right now but our finishing schedule is brutal.

Mike Scifres was utterly amazing yesterday! He pinned Oakland's offense inside the 15, 90% of his punts. And a couple at like the 2 or 3 yard line. He was the most valuable player yesterday.
-
Ryan Tannenhill has had two consecutive really impressive showings. Something to take note of for sure.
He was okay - but I wouldn't read too much into his performance. We had NO pass rush and a terribly decimated secondary. We could have made anyone look good last week.
-
I think SD replaced Rivers before the game with Curtis Painter and put Painter in Rivers's jersey. He was TERRIBLE!!!
Actually Rivers would agree with you, he said he flat out stunk. Worst game I've ever seen him play - he was back to 2012 (and so was the OL's protection). He tried too hard, tried to pick up the team and put it on his back rather than execute the play at hand and take what the defense is giving you.
This could turn out to be a really good thing in the long run... teams can so easily get cocky. We get 4+ players back after the bye week. Can't. Wait!!!!
-
Can we just call the game and fire up the plane now?
-
Thank goodness rivers is oout of there. No OL and him trying too hard too easily could equal an injury we don't need.
-
NT and center now injured. Time to pull rivers before he gets hurt.
-
Most depressing game in a long time. No pressure from DL makes an avg qb look like a pro bowler.
-
OLis stinking the place out

We. Look. Like. CRAP.

I don't know if you guys noticed it, but we lost our center AGAIN, now on center number 5 !!!! As Rivers said in his post game press conference "We've lost more centers this year than games."
Coach Joe D, (oline coach) deserves a coach of the year award. Good Grief!
