One thing is for CERTAIN - we won't sneak in and steal a victory like we did there on Thursday night last year, LOL!
Denver will be geared up and ready to fight.
Now we see how tough my Chargers are or aren't. I'd love to see Rivers rock his bolo again on national television post show ;-)
-
I don't gamble and definitely don't pick all the games as I just don't study other teams well enough. As to my Chargers...
They could beat Denver
or
They could experience their first slaughter of the year.
It mostly depends on who will be available on our secondary. If our D starters, Flowers, Verrett and Attaochu are able to go we'll give them a run, if not Peyton will be like a kid in a carnival shooting gallery.
-
Got it Krunk.
I'm not really worried about them "blowing it" so much as just not having the personnel left to make a run. This team is really different in attitude, discipline and the undefinable will to win. It isn't the team that often blew the easy game and won the unwinnable ones, and were so inconsistent.
KC played solid yesterday - we just made stupid mistakes especially on 3rd down. They could have beaten us much worse if their receivers could hang onto a pass. As poorly as we played we were still in it to the end.
-
Denver looked very sharp and very amped for the record last night. It was an emotional high for the team, fans and Peyton. Pretty much equated to walking into a buzz saw at max rpms.
That said, the 49ers have been hot and cold this year and they looked utterly lost out there last night.
-
How is thursday looking at Denver?.
Could be as bad as the 49ers tonight, or we could give them fits. We're running out of players in our secondary - so it's quite possible that Peyton cuts us to shreds... or if we get pressure on him we could cause him to have 6 interceptions once again. It's not real likely though ;-)
-
I'm not saying anything about the Chargers until we beat them. I just want to get the thorn out of our side so bad!
If you're a Colts' fan, we don't play you this year :-) (unless it's the playoffs).
-
Not a mirage - just decimated. I said it the last two games, "next man up only works so far down the lineup." We've been playing 2s and 3s along with top guys, but the top guys are dropping like flies.
Tom Telesco has worked wonders with upgrading our personnel for us to get this far, but having our bye week in week 9 hasn't done us any favors.
We're 5-2. Almost lost last week to a team coming off their bye week, new coach, 2 weeks to game plan us. Same story today - they game planned us pretty much perfectly. Our secondary losing Brandon Flowers and Jason Verrett in one game - that's the two pieces left that kept it functioning.
We'll know more later. I'm pretty realistic. If we can hold it together and begin to regain players we could peak at the right time.

how u say that there inconsistent with the rule just to prove one game the colts v texans bet there are many more i dont mind if they do it aslong as they are consistent with doing it.
who said am not interested in anything else ur saying it could end his career but most things can end someones career can they not? and the nfl is a joke what happened to broncos tight end for the chop block he did a fine what happened to burfict for twisting somones ankle which could easily end your season a fine the nfl is a joke and inconsistent and as i pointed out above i dont mind them doing it but they dont always do it. will be last thing i put cause will just be going back and forward
You illustrated my point perfectly (you won't get it but everyone else will)... on to this week's games. Have a good day!

anyones career can be ruined by a simple tackle so what we should stop tackling altogether? theres always a chance of injury they get alot of money and they know the risks of the game the players should know the rules of what can do and cant do.
Taking a point to it's extreme to try to prove your point only shows an inability to effectively reason. It's also called a "straw man argument" (see logic 101).
Tapping a player to move and prevent a preventable injury is a minor and quite reasonable adjustment. Absolutely no one is recommending "no tackling" (the straw man of your argument).
Oh well it's obvious you are going to defend your point and aren't really interested in anything else. Fortunately the NFL doesn't happen to agree with you and it will continue to be in practice ....
-
the point i was making is they shouldnt its the players job to know the rules the officials shouldnt help them. will be interesting in next few weeks if they flag someone for this and it cost them the game
And then when someone's center's career is ruined when he it could have been prevented that's okay by you? Safety is is the key point. Your viewpoint doesn't hold up against the greater concern about people's health. This is not a small deal. We have lost 3 centers this year - it's a tough enough position without adding additional risk that can be prevented.
-
Either way, I don't think the Redskins should have to change their name. People want to be offended about everything, and I think it's a stupid thing to get worked up about.
I am SO WITH YOU on this one. Really? With the events in the world politicians are worried about this?!
-
My in-depth analysis: Watching that game last night it seemed pretty darn simple to me - you can't let Brady score TDs quickly while you score FGs slowly.
-
official shouldnt have made the player move its the players that should know the rules why help them out basically is cheating i didnt really care who won just think official shouldnt have done it and if u going to do that shouldnt u be consistent with decisions like that
Read the article on NFL.com - http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000412180/article/blandino-refs-conduct-on-jets-field-goal-not-unusual
It is not at all unusual, it's a safety measure. The rule was instituted because of potential serious injuries, so with that class of rules, they consistently do exactly what was done last night. The article shows footage of 2 more instances where it occurred in other games.

Second week in a row he's won the Pepsi - Rookie of the Week award. Well-deserved honor.
-
excuse me while i puke...
-
you dont predict losing three rbs
Nope, but thankfully, Tom Telesco was prepared for it
-
I haven't had a chance to watch the game yet, we have it recorded. Were the Cowboys able to contain Wilson in the pocket? That's how we basically neutralized him in addition to keeping the time of possession 2/3rds of the time.
-
Oliver? Don't you know we have Trent Richardson?
*crickets*
After the draft we had already resigned Bradshaw, gave up a first round pick for Trent and Vick Ballard was healthy... We didn't need him then.
Not comparing, or even boasting or anything else. I just found it interesting. Something that *might* or *might not* be interesting down the road. We didn't need him either - and the fans were not particularly happy that we kept 5 RBs. They couldn't see the reasoning, but in the end it appears prescient.
-
he would have never played anyway even for you guys if it wasnt for some freak accidents
He wouldn't have played yet, but he would have eventually. The front office and coaches literally didn't let him play too much in the preseason because they knew he'd be poached off of the practice squad.
Reminds me of how we cut Wes Welker the last cut of the year before the season started. The ones that get away always haunt you.
-
I posted a topic about him earlier
Missed that :-)
-
Those of you Colts fans, did you know that apparently you guys had a shot at Branden in the UDFA frenzy after the draft? I just read about this and then heard Tom Telesco interviewed about it today.
The Chargers wanted him, contacted him immediately following the draft, but somehow lost touch with his agent in the craziness. When an agent doesn't return calls, they assume the player has signed a contract. I heard that the Colts were the other team working with him but didn't offer him a contract.
Later in the week they realized he hadn't been signed and snapped him up. SO glad we have him. We wouldn't be 5-1 without him having stepped in the past 2 weeks.
-
One thing about that Seahawk game. The temperature on the field was over 130 and Seattle was in their dark green uniforms.
Fixed that for you ;-)
-
In one word.... I N S A N E! That's one incredible vertical leaping ability.
-
I can't disagree with you Braveheart. Our schedule is back loaded. Our biggest issue is injuries. We're beating people with our 2s and 3s, can we keep doing that until we get some of our key players back? If so, it could be interesting.
In the past we probably would have crumbled and lost that game. It's a different team. The years we went 14-2 and 13-3 we won the ugly ones. That's what it takes to pull off that kind of record. We'll see.

Of course Freeney isn't who he was when playing opposite of Mathis 7 years ago... no player is who they were 7 years ago. However, he is playing very well and contributing greatly. We are not at all unhappy with the acquisition.
