  1. Had their pick of their best defensive player on their board - just crazy at #15
  2. Ballard mentioned Steichen’s reaction when he looked at the Colts’ draft board. “He starts looking at the board and tell, ‘This is how we’ll use this guy. This is how he fits,’’’ Ballard said. “From a GM perspective, that’s a beautiful thing now, knowing that he’s got a vision quickly for the player and it’s not a vision of negativity with many guys. “He sees the strengths really quickly and will figure out a role for how this guy can play for you. That makes it fun.’’
  3. Misc..Jeremiah's biggest draft board risers 1) DT Newton , 2) CB McKinstry 3)WR McConkey 4) WR Worthy. All into the late first round. Also the betting odds on the number of expected trades in the first round is 6.5. They list the Colts as one of the trades - as a trade down. - Sports betting news article.
  4. Yep. Really hoping Cooper is sitting there at 46
  5. On a different note -What is your take on Payton Wilson if he is sitting there at #46
  6. I guess we will find out, but I don't think BTJ will see any seismic drops in draft boards. Seems there is always so much noise and smoke around players teams covet on the cusp of the draft. Like C.J. Strouds aptitude test scores last year.
  7. He would be a very good Pick for the Colts. He has the speed to beat defenders in the first 15 yds off the line of scrimmage, fights for the ball and makes contested catches. Teams do not appear to be overly concerned with rumored shoulder issues. He is wiry and considered an AJ Green-lite. He is explosive. can work through contact, high point the ball, and can stretch the field - Traits the Colts need to acquire in this draft. Some knock his production because he played opposite what some consider to be the best WR in the draft. But, he has all the tools needed to excel in the NFL. The type of player the Colts really need at this point. BTJ. Pittman, and AR would be a potent combo.
  8. The ghost of Joel Buchsbaum makes the Colts 1st round selection in Detroit.
  9. I know my predictions are not really all that bold - I think it will be a nut house in the 1st round also.
  10. Those are indeed- Bold predictions.😳
  11. If the Colts get Hendrickson and slide to #18 ( + additional mentioned ), and keep their 2024 2nd... Ballard's next statement should be - Where do I sign!
  12. A+ Draft top to bottom- if the Colts were that fortunate.
  13. I think it is Worthy. Steichen, Cooter, and Wayne all traveled to the Texas Pro Day. Steichen was said to have had a long conversation with Sarkisian -so some real interest there. 5 Qb's round 1 with only Nix sliding out of the first round. Colts go OLB round 2 Byron Murphy is the first defensive player drafted. 2 guards go in first round Poers-Johnson and Fautanu. DL Johnny Newton is drafted in the first round well ahead of where he is projected.
  14. BetMGM posted odds on the first defensive player off the board on Thursday. They had Byron Murphy (+160) right next to Dallas Turner (+150), then followed by Latu (+200), and Quinyon Mitchell (+1300). According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, "there are some front office executives who believe [Texas] defensive tackle Byron Murphy II has a realistic chance" of being the first defensive player selected on Thursday.
  15. There are more than a few who have Nabers ranked ahead of Harrison in this draft.
  16. He needs work on his hands usage off the snap. I am sure Reggie could help with that.
  17. That is very true, but this year there are a lot of them to muddy the waters of this draft.
  18. Matt Waldman who was dead on with his analysis of Josh Downs last year, listed Xavier Worthy as the 4th best WR in this class and a franchise level receiver. He Notes that Worthy can be a small slot because of his toughness. He also lists Worthy as having elite caliber elusiveness. So he is not just fast, he can make people miss and is very adept at avoiding contact. He lists Comps as Isaac Bruce & Desean Jackson. "Worthy makes a lot of difficult catches. His tracking with his back to the ball is up there with Rome Odunze. His weight falls in the range of Isaac Bruce and DeSean Jackson and like those, his toughness at the catch point belies his size. He’s fearless and wins targets that bigger receivers lose at the boundary, over the middle, and against hard contact."
  19. It will be of great interest to see how all this expected 1st round movement will shake out and if the Colts decide to sit steady at #15. CBS La Confora on Penix "I don't mess with this sort of payout very often, but I would here. The media made more of the medicals than any team I spoke to about him. I very easily could see him going to the Vikings, Broncos, Raiders or Seahawks in the first half of the first round, and frankly at this point would be surprised if he didn't land there."
  20. I like your draft! I also anticipate Ballard trading back I would substitute G/C Zach Frazier at 82. I see OL depth as a bigger need for a long season and Frazier could very well start if needed. At 83 I would Take Utah S Cole Bishop. Cooper would be a fantastic pick. Your draft is very well thought in terms of talent on the board and team impact for the coming season.
  21. Matt Waldman recently did a pre-draft interview with private QB Coach Will Hewlett who trains Caleb Williams. Hewitt also continues to train Anthony Richardson and Brock Purdy. They got on the subject of Richardson. Hewlett said besides raw athleticism. he is one the smartest QB;s he has ever worked and his memory and recall is off the charts. He mentions the long seam pass against the Rams as an example of Richardson already picking up on pro -style defense alignments due to his preparation and recall. Hewlett quipped "There needs to be a way to bottle his DNA" Waldman who annually scouts offensive skill positions says Richardson is his favorite QB of the last 8-9 years behind Mahomes.
  22. Jeremy Fowler: "Fowler: When I ask teams to predict which player will be the fourth receiver taken, one name that comes up fairly often is Texas' Xavier Worthy. Elite speed goes high. LSU's Brian Thomas Jr. is in that conversation, too. He's bracing to go somewhere in the teens or early-to-mid 20s. Thomas was part of the combine medical recheck due to a shoulder issue from college, but teams I've spoken to say that's not a major red flag -- just something they would have to manage in Year 1. He's extremely talented.
