  1. Real nice by Gilmore. At this rate we will only receive 4-5 possessions this half. We will need turnovers.
  2. Deja but all over again. Really like Ballard’s talent evaluation, and hate his roster construction / cap management. For A GM that has put so much emphasis on OL/DL as the team foundation - the play has been less than impressive in terms of generating a pass rush and protecting the QB - at least so far.
  3. And this is Why Taylor will be shutdown- zero respect for our receivers. This organization continually overrates its own roster. This lack of passion comes directly from this coach.
  4. Reich has this team playing uninspired football to start the season again….. So Wentz was the team chemistry problem??? And again - if the opposing team does not fear our receiving group - Taylor is dead in the water with a stacked front. Will not sign a vet receiver, but will pay 20 million to a guard…ugh.
  5. Ran Wentz out of town with prejudice; now Frank is exposed for the coach he is.
  6. Reich does not have this team ready again……. The front office consistently overrates the talent on this roster. Throws too much of the cap dollars to the wrong positions. Ryan does not look good so far
  7. -Seems like the current team building philosophy - keep your own, pay them at at or near the top of the position ceiling regardless of position; which drives the cap further north. -Then never entertaining the creative restructuring of contracts. Both seem to put immense pressure on our Draft and UDFA to be nearly perfect each off season to fill team needs ; some at critical positions. Not saying I am a fan of getting into dead money scenarios, just saying the current philosophy appears to leave little room for error to find low cost value and production.
  8. I suppose if your in the camp that thinks the Colts are 2-3 players away from a deep playoff run - which I do, then you commit to going out and getting the best players available to fill out out your roster. If you do not, then you are content to wait and stay on a similar course as the Colts have been on.
  9. I can appreciate the philosophy of some teams that say Let’a just go out and get our QB, and we will figure out the rest.
  10. Cannot see these LT's lasting much longer. Panthers in on Brown, and Dolphins pursuing Armstead.
  11. The Colts were in on Jones for a bit. New Bears DT Justin Jones was very close to signing with the Colts. But Bears coach Matt Eberflus called him last night around midnight, and the talk convinced him to sign with Chicago. Jones flew in this morning and now has a two-year deal with the Bears. — Colleen Kane (@ChiTribKane) March 18, 2022
  12. Agree. there are no QB's without flaws on the FA market. Let Reich redeem himself with a young, talented quarterback and see if he can get Mayfield to the next level. It is not as if this situation is a CAP killer for the next 5 years, if it does not work out. We can then go back to complaining about not having more weapons on offense.
  13. Makes good sense, but at the rate we are filling out the roster it just seems like a bus ride toward another rebuild. The outlook would look much brighter with a competent QB in place.
  14. Does Ballard get shopping points for forum clicks. There has to be an incentive for this Three Toed Sloth pace in free agency. He does have some pocket change!
  15. All very true, but frustrating given that there was not a concrete move/plan once Wentz was shipped out. To your point - the front office had to know they would have difficulty bringing in offensive talent without a QB in place. Then there is the matter of who will left worth bringing in once the QB situation is solved.
  16. Exactly right! New England was on top of this early. and built much of their depth from trading back and leveraging the compensatory game. They added another 2nd/3rd round pick for next year -this week.
  17. And that is the issue/concern with Ballard's rigid and methodical approach to team building. It works to a much higher degree when you already have your quarterback in place. Now we face the slow carnival ride towards potentially breaking up the current core and going full rebuild before the next QB is ready to help the Colts contend. Painful to watch.
  18. Is there enough cohesion in this organization? Reich pounds the table for Wentz and gets him. If you believe what others have written - early on in the off season concerns were raised about the ability of Wentz to lead this franchise. If this was the case Why did the Colts exceed the 70% snap threshold that gave our first round draft pick to the Eagles? No deal was in place to replace him, and now we are ALL-IN dumpster diving on the back end of Free Agency. Just does not seem like the plan of a top tier GM in year 5 with the organization.
  19. Bargain Bin Ballard thrifty shopper - the most clever guy in the room. Good Grief!
