  1. If the hang up is still straight up price and not finishing details this could drag out long after the green beer stops flowing. Would not be good if the Titans jump us on this.
  2. If the Colts decide to trade back in round one this year they may be in a unique position. At 15 they may well be sitting in a position where the last of the projected 1st round QB's are still on the board after the initial run on them. Ballard will most likely have plenty of options to add draft capital, especially if a starting CB is already in the fold. If they hold on to the pick it will be in the range of a top 10 equivalent pick talent-wise.
  3. if true, sure like the sound of the Colts retaining their 1st and 2nd picks , and surrendering a 3rd+ for Sneed. Great opportunity to land potentially 3 high talent level starters to the beginning of the AR era. Would inject the off season with a great deal of optimism.
  4. Don’t second guess yourself. Lawn Chair season is coming and the market is hot
  5. Wondering if he asking for Jaire Alexander money. He is currently the highest paid CB at 21 mil annually and 30 mil guaranteed.
  6. Yep agree. If we get Sneed and retain our 1st - all good. Then just sign a safety and some veteran Oline depth.
  7. Trade may have been largely CAP management. Pickett will earn less than 2 mil; compared to the current market for veteran backups. Competent and cheap.
  8. You never know, but virtually no one is projecting Bowers to still be there at 15. This may change if he continues to not be available to work out. He did not work out at the combine and missed the Georgia Pro Day with a Hamstring injury. Will not work out now until April 10th for NFL teams. Love it if he dropped to 15.
  9. Although not the same scenario or circumstance, this waiting-out of the sneed situation feels like the Lamar Jackson watch of last year. Not leveraging free agency for even depth purposes almost guarantees the team has late round draft picks or UFA's very high up in the depth chart and forced into action at key positions for long periods due to injury or lack of true starter talent. The one departure from this is we can count on having DL depth. This cycle seems to continue to play out. I expect Ballard will have another excellent draft from a value perspective. Then we will begin the discussions of needing to add offensive/defensive difference makers at key skill position; while hoping to fill some positions with value post June cuts from other teams . True to form the Colts have resigned their own (Which is a good thing.) , but have we gained ground in our own division, This holy grail blueprint seems set in stone never to be reevaluated, but yields in the hunt for a division title results.
  10. This is the issue with waiting out a player tagged by their current team. Other teams continue to fill holes and players like Fuller are signed to reasonable contracts. This once again, and unfortunately, has the feeling of same old Colts Free Agency period management. The Colts have needs for difference makers that cannot all be filled successfully in the draft in one year. Here is to hoping for good news on Thursday.
  11. If that turns out to be true. Start the bus - all in on Sneed. Hard to imagine some other team would not up the ante. Would love for that to get done for mid to late picks.
  12. Excellent post, but do you think Ballard would actually surrender two first rounder draft picks for a non-exclusive franchised tagged player. If it is a trade scenario the cost to acquire remains pretty steep. Chances are the Chiefs will want draft compensation given they have 15.5 mil in cap space heading into the draft. Given his history, I would be shocked if Ballard goes this route and pulls this off.
  13. Not sure if he was a Ballard target, but CB Kendall Fuller signed a 2 year 16.5 mil contract with the Dolphins
  14. Completely agree, Fuller would be good signing for the Colts. Rather than wait on Sneed where the Colts stand a strong chance of being outbid; or he is resigned by the Chiefs. I do think the next signing will most likely be a Safety.
  15. Ballard: “We have to get more explosive on offense, and we have to be able to eliminate the explosives on defense,” Here is to hoping the Colts address this need sooner than later, and the entire solution does not reside in a high RAS draft. The blueprint of the recent past has yielded mediocrity.
  16. An experienced mentor for AR. Good signing.
  17. Yes, this sums up exactly where I am at with Ballard. Hoping he has learned enough to do something different with constructing the Colts roster. I believe Steichen will be a force in this direction.
  18. It has not been in Ballard's DNA to push his chips to middle of the table. I would be very surprised if this were to happen. It's great he is resigning key Colt players - but I think it is overdue that he sheds the ultra conservative approach to building the Colts roster. His record to date speaks for itself.
  19. The new PFF Mock Draft has the Colts selecting Toledo CB Quinyon Mitchell. The first CB off the board in their mock in the upcoming draft.
  20. I am hoping that the Colts draft a coverage linebacker fairly early in the draft - the Colts defense desperately needed one ever since Okereke departed for the Giants.
  21. I could see Ballard selecting CB Terrion Arnold with the 15th pick. Colts are very thin in the secondary. Ballard has already alluded to the need to solidify the safety position, and Arnold transitioned from free safety to CB at Alabama. He was a 1st Team All-American who had 63 total tackles and, led the SEC in interception in 2023. He can also return kickoffs. Hoping foremost Bowers slips as the Top 3 WR’s will be gone. If not, Arnold would be a versatile day one starter with high potential.
