  1. You don’t trade him…he was still under contract with us. They didn’t just unload JT the minute he asked out.
  2. I agree…looks like 2nd foot was in just before Downs wrist hit the ground out of bounds
  3. That sucks…that was my worry when they put NFL Sunday Ticket on a Streaming service
  4. Baker was starting at CB in wk 1 so someone thought he could play at this level. As far as injuries go, it’s the NFL. Unfortunately, everybody deals with them to certain position groups. If our one proven corner (Gilmore) wasn’t dealt for a lottery ticket in the off-season maybe the depth of talent is there so the secondary isn’t relying on the UDFAs of there NFL world. Just my 2 cents
  5. Officiating was awful, but in hindsight the thin secondary was exposed well before the two ridiculous calls. 3rd and 10 completion of 30 yards to Moore was really unacceptable considering who was playing QB for them and what a 2 deep zone defense is designed to do. Don’t know what the defense was doing letting Peeples Jones be so wide open over the middle on the 17 yard gain a few plays later. Ballard made the decision to bargain basement on the secondary, deal Gilmore in off-season and I would say it played a role in this game and possibly the LAR and/or Jax opening game losses this season.
  6. The referees made some questionable calls, but at the end of the day we had the ball with like 334 left and went three and out. Even if we get one first down there, maybe run the thing down to the two minute warning, it’s a totally different game. Outside of the turnovers and officiating at the end, that was probably the biggest take home from this game: too many giveaway possessions, because of inability to consistently run the ball when we had to/opponents knew it was coming.
  7. I don’t trust our corners much and I fear the Browns will pick on them…be ready for another deep shot
  8. Pittman has gotta be better than that…you’ve scored TDs before.
  9. Yeah…I get it with what happened at the end of the 1st half…but not 1 pass there??
  10. Run the ball here on 1st down or Play action, RPO with a quick 1st read…bottom line is no long developing routes. Learn your lesson from the end of the 1st half
  11. Still plenty of time left but they need to stop the turnovers 1st and foremost…13 direct Cleveland point today off of turnovers without their offense even having to pick up a 1st down.
  12. It’s clear Minshew is pressing and it’s frustrating because there is no clear reason to do so…take care of the ball and be methodical. The defense has played well for the most part today
  13. This exactly…maybe open up with some type of rub route/crosser for one of those guys on first down next series. You gotta stay away from 3rd and long obvious passing situations with Garrett playing like he is on the other side
  14. That was a horrible end to that 1st half. Few issues that hurt - O line decided to pick the worst time to whiff pass blocks. Disappointing that a player like Nelson who is paid to be elite had an egregious poor play in there as well - Steichen continues to have an oddly aggressive mindset when he clearly does not have a QB or an overall offensive unit that justifies that type of thinking. You gotta stick with close to a 2:1 run pass ratio for this unit to be effective and avoid the costly TOs - Not knowing when to “fold em” with play calling…if Shane runs the ball on that last 3rd down, chances are Cleveland does not tack on the FG at end of half. Same issue that led to 60 yard FG block earlier in the game. In the end, I hope this doesn’t cost them the game but the reality is that we went from a situation where we should have (at worst) been up 4 going into the half to down 6.
  15. I gotta say he’s looked better than Watson today though.
  16. Browns will definitely go right at whoever is replacing him.
  17. Nice drive there by Colts. Minshew playing a lot better today. 2:1 run pass ratio (which is close to what they are today) seems ideal for this offense to be effective.
  18. O line has gotta be more disciplined. Holding penalties are huge. I will say the call on Fries was soft
  19. Smart veteran play by Minshew to look downfield immediately on his 1st read knowing it was a free play due to offsides.
  20. Two runs… 77 yards. 1 TD Second straight week they give up a TD to start game. 4th time in 7 games they give up an opening drive TD. Guess we can say this is a slow starting unit.
  21. Irsay is prone to hyperbole / PR statements (anyone recall his comical “All chips in” tweet after the 2021 season) which are really meant to serve as salesmanship so his words don’t really mean much to me. AR has shown some flashes and is better at some aspects of QB play than what I expected but the reality is that he has not had nearly any appropriate sample size of play to accurately determine what he is going to be or give him the experience/trial by fire moments to build on for his development. I personally would not draft or think about drafting another QB no matter where we end up in next years draft, but the bottom line is he does need to show he can be healthy over a full course of the season .
  22. I guess this buys Chris Ballard another year of rope for his reboot considering this year is essentially a wash in developing AR?
  23. Well in the end, this is not surprising...when a quarterback leaves a game in obvious pain on this throwing arm and the appendage involved looks like its just hanging there, it is usually a pretty reliable indication that the time missed is going to be a multiweek at minimum or possible season ending surgery situation. I'm just glad his rotator cuff or labrum was not involved as those things have more opportunity to lead to long term implications. However, any surgery especially on the throwing shoulder in a professional athlete has potential for that While injuries are not predictable, I still contend the way the Colts used Richardson was reckless and, frankly, disappointing. I am frustrated that the organization including the coaching staff did not take more thought, nuance into how they were going to develop him and his playing style and, ultimately, it has led to this being a lost year with his development and, if we're being honest, for this franchise. Frankly, going forward they need to have him play more from the pocket, build on his natural ability to process quickly, not panic when the rush gets to him to make multiple reads from there, use his legs, athleticism, etc on designed rollouts, scramble yards when the pocket collapses and to move within the pocket in a tight space with good footwork while utilizing his arm talent on make throws that have zip when his feet are not necessarily set. I do not need to see him play running back anymore unless its a short yardage critical (i.e. playoff) game situation. Yes, the above may have led to some more INTs, frustrating throws this season, but I truly believe that it would have led to a QB who was healthy, taken most of the snaps this year and ultimately been more polished and effective going into his 2nd year.
