  1. I think a possible suspension scared some teams. However, there is no way a team is giving up a 1st for Taylor. The one thing is this. Taylor may feel so slighted by the Colts, and his pride is taking over that he may go the a team and play out his contract and test the market next year. Either way, do u see a team giving up high draft pick for a one year rental? Do u see a team giving up a high pick and then having to extend him? Either way, I think the offers are low, and that's why I do a conditional pick based on Miami's success is the way I go. I think a team would be more comfortable with a conditional pick. There is a lot on the line in Miami. Tua on last year of contract. They made a ton of moves in the last couple of years. The coach and GM need something to show for it or they could be out. The coach came with a lot of hype. The could be coaxed into giving away more than they should but I don't see it. Either way, if they get nothing for it and the Colts let it go on, I will lose more faith in Ballard. I vowed to reset the Ballard meter this year, but this is asituation that he will be scrutinized for and should be.
  2. Firstly, I think before examining these trades, one has to look at the noted teams salary cap. Which of these teams have draft capital and the cap room to sign Taylor? Is Taylor willing to go to say Miami and play under his current contract and then explore the market in the off season? Is Miami willing to give the Colts a pick knowing he could walk in the off season? I pretty confident that no team is going to give up a high pick and then sign him to a deal. I think Cook's recent signing should tell us what the current market is for a rb. Miami could have signed him for like I think it was like 9 million a year and had to give up nothing. So why would they now turn around now and pay Taylor more money and give up draft capital? I think Cook is a better all around back but older and there is apparently some concern that he is facing a suspension, which could be a reason for his stock being down. I think if Miami really felt they really needed a back, they could look around the league and make a trade for someone who was still under contract and was rated maybe a step below Taylor. Look at what the Niners did last season. They gave up picks for a back under contract. I think what people are forgetting is this. They have Waddle and Hill. They are the most explosive tandem in the NFL. Taylor would be great but you could probably plug a a lot of backs into that offence and they would excel because of the defense focusing on those two burners. You will not have safety in the box. Hell, I could probably play in that O and get 4.0 a carry lol!! I am of the belief that the Colts need to say good bye and I said this when he demanded the trade. I might have even said it a day or two whey I heard he was moping at practice. I think Ballard will be scrutinized on how he deals with this situation. For me, I make this trade with a team and make it conditional. Lets say the team is Miami, because that seems to be where all the buzz is. I say to Miami its a 1st rounder if you win the Superbowl. Its a 2nd if you win the AFC. Its a 3rd if you make the play offs. Get it done and be gone with it!. If the Colts do not make the trade, then they need to send him home for the year. He cannot be around this team given what Steichen is trying to build.
  3. I think we all knew that before we drafted him. Get ready for some ugly very ugly days? I do like what I c from him so far. Need those around him to play at higher level.
  4. Actually for some reason young qbs usually struggle more against zone defences.
  5. U maybe right, but they could block for a statue and now they can't block for a gazelle. What does that say lol? Just joking, it's preseason. Same time to work out the bugs
  6. The one positive out of all of this is this. Ballard has a different relationship with Taylor than , we can assume, any other player yet in his 7 years in terms on contract negotiations. Ballard is having to play hard ball. He says he wants a first rounder and he knows he is not getting one. However, when they come back with a 3rd rounder, how can Taylor still think he is worth 15 million a year? It doesn't match what Taylor thinks he is worth. Case in point. Let's say Jones stands his ground in KC and they say go seek a trade. I guarantee that they get way more than a 1st rounder and there is a team willing to extend him at what he wants. Ballard in the past, and most recently, I have felt he has talked to openly and gushes about his players. He has to start using the approach that we want him back, but the money has to work. Ballard says he's a great player, and u pay great players. Not smart, and I think this will harden Ballard a lot, and he may not be such a nice going forward. To me, that's a good thing, and I really believe that is what Irsay wants to see.
  7. If I am Irsay I do this. Let's see if they can make a trade and I think they know no one will call with an offer that comes close to what they want. I don't think the Colts even want a 1st, I think it has gotten a little person just like Wentz and they made that outrageous demand. He wants out so let's call his bluff and let him get out there. Now the agent may come back and say Buffalo offered a 4th and I believe Taylor would take less to save face. At this point, I say no and buy him a 12 month Netfix subscription and say enjoy being a free agent next year. See yah!!!
  8. Don't beleive that. Why would a team that is basically on a total rebuild trade for rb and give up picks and extend him???
  9. U r never getting a 1st for Taylor. I sense this could aimilar to Lamar. Thr other teams knew that Baltimore was using the rest of the NFL in negotiating with the Lamar. Plus teams maybe don't want to reward a player who wants more money and is basically bullying his way out of town. Remember teams can offer them say a 3rd or a 4th. However, they can go back to Taylor and say see u ain't worth what u r asking and u r staying put!!!!
  10. Nothing, nada not a penny more. He plays for 4 million and we see at the end of the season.
  11. I love Irsay as an owner. I think he loves his team, but he needs to step aside and let Ballard run it. Sink or swim, and the last 2 years have seen Irsay turn into the Jerry Jones of the AFC. Yes, I have been hard on Ballard. He had some things to deal with along the way, but u r what your record says u r!!!!
  12. hmmm I think i said something similar to that not to far ago lol
  13. He is the owner and he can do what he want. I am not in love with Ballard, but it just under cuts Ballard's influence on making tough decisions. It looks to the NFL and media that Irsay is in charge and not Ballard. Irsay needs to let Ballard sink or swim this season. I doubt Ballard is loving this situation
  14. But that's why you keep quiet, cause I predicted a while ago this would go south. Thats why i hate it when Ballard is so eager to profess his love for a player on the eve of a new contract. He needs to be more restrained in his enthusiasm. He did it with Nelson and now with Taylor.
  15. Well you cannot blame them. Factor in last year and this year how Irsay said he is not trading and then only 2 weeks later, Taylor is on the block. Irsay needs to go away and say nothing. I was hoping that Irsay learned his lesson from last year and would stay hidden. I am a little concerned about Irsay's influence in making decisions behind the scenes. I said it a week ago that this remind me of Wentz and Irsay would not tolerate the moping on field nd would want him gone
  16. I think the Colts have painted him into the corner. Let's just say he wants 15 million a year. Now he goes out there and a team offers at the most a 3rd or 4th round pick. How does Taylor and his agent come back to the Colts and continue to say he is worth 15 million? By him seeking a trade, I think it is even further diminishing his value.
  17. Go back and check Was I wrong when I said about a,week ago that Taylor will never play for olts again?
  18. It will be critical crickets I bet from other teams. Running back market is,set
  19. Well it's official, Irsay looks like a clown. They will never get a 1st for him.
  20. Wrong. I said that Nelson's play has gone down the last two years and that Ballard never should have signed him when he did. I have always thought that Leonard is a little over rated as is his position in this scheme. If you look at Franklin, he put up great stats and that lb position in this scheme always does. I always said i would have played hard ball with Leonard and traded him when his stock was high for say a very good corner. I also said that based on Leonard's size and all those tackles, that it would eventually lead to an injury. Leonard is not a great pass defender and good run stats. He gets a lot of turnover and sacks and I wont take that away. I alway believed we could have plug and played a new guy if we traded him and that has been proven right by Franklin's play. To me to play a linebacker elite money he has to be elite in pass coverage in today's NFL and he is not
  21. we dont agree a lot and it is funny because Lombardi, who I like, has Nelson as a blue chip guard. I never would have thought he had him so high after last season
