  1. Today's performance by Moss us just one more reason why u don't extend Taylor. If the Oline plays well, Moss will perform. Taylor's hold out will go down as a move that will cost him millions. Good to c some players that Ballard has drafted recently step up. Nelson looks to be back and Pierce just needs a qb who can get him the ball. He and Richardson will get there. Speed and Frankin need to be starting.
  2. Yes and Chubb's injury just probably put a further dent in the overall rb market.
  3. Cause I don't want to play this game. U can argue that he is #1 or #10 in the league, but it doesn't matter. The league has spoken with regards to rbs and/or Taylor's value in the current market. That being said. He is under contract and the Colts not think it is worth the risk to sign him to an extension . No other team has stepped up to trade and/or sign him to an extension. U can argue with me on how elite he is and that doesn't really matter. There are 3 other backs, Barkley , Jacobs and Pollard, who I view as more complete and they couldn't sniff an extension.
  4. It is also evident that 30 other teams don't see him as elite as their were no credible offers to trade for him and extend him.
  5. I think where u error in your evaluation of Taylor is that u r evaluating him as a runner only. He is average in catching the ball and below average in pass protection. I believe in Steichen's ability to evaluate the position. If he was elite, I truly believe this mess would never have happened, and he would have an extension. People are also throwing last year away as they blame his production on Oline and qb play. Truly, elite rbs rise above those deficiencies.
  6. I don't get this talk of a 1st round pick for Taylor. In what universe do u see any team giving up a 1st for Taylor? I am on record as saying a 4th or 5th and the highest would be a 3rd. Whatever team goes after Taylor would most likely be looking at a one year rental. In what world would a team give up a 1st for a rental? In what world would a team give up a 1st and a new deal for Taylor? It was crickets when he was put out their for a trade. That's why the Colts said go out their and get a trade. It was a win win for them. He went out there, and no one offered anything tangible. Now Taylor has been shown what he is worth. He will come off the PUP and probably ball out as he now knows he is playing for a contract. I doubt the Colts tag him, as they will move on and get a comp pick for him. Taylor and his agent really screwed this up. He should have played the year and showed the Colts and the NFL that he was healthy and a complete back. Would the Colts give him an extension after this year if he played and had a great year? They may have worked something out. Now he will probably hit free agency with is stock being devalued even more because of his antics. A sad story and a warning to players with no leverage on what not to do!!!
  7. I don't get this over evalution of Taylor. He is a very good one cut running back with elite speed. However, based on his overall skill set and how it fits today's game, he is not an elite rb. If he was, I truly beleive Steichen whispers in Ballard's ear to give him an extension. The fact that the Colts won't budge on an extension should tell u enough what they think of him as a player in this offence. People need to also look at history. Recent 2nd contracts give to rbs have been a disaster. Now that may change with Robinson from the Falcons. He looks like Faulk with a little sprinkle of Sanders. He looks like the protypical back for today's game.
  8. Oh brother. Time go break the Ballard curse lol. Time to go!!! This is what happens when u draft great athletes and over look their ability to play the game. I am not referring about Richardson, but he has absolutely no weapons he can rely on. Our best one is on PUP snd he must be laughing.
  9. Funny jow people blamed Frank for all these slow starts. Do u see anything different in the 1st 2 games? No skills players stepping up. The Oline can't get out of its way. The D allowing easy drives.
  10. Oh brother!! Its the quarter. This Dline is predicated on speed and if they are gassed already, then they are jn big trouble. It's the defence. It's basic and if u don't get pressure u are in trouble.
  11. I guess the defence was gassed as the offence did nothing. Oh wait, we were up 14, and it was only the 2nd quarter. I am not a Bradley fan. This D is just too basic.
  12. I think we r jumping the gun on lack of play makers. This guy played, I think it was 15 games in college. I think he played better than I expected today. Nothing today tells me he is going to be a bust. He looked really good. He appeard to be in control of the game in terms of maturity. He wil need to read what the defense is giving him. That's not going to happen in his 1st game. This is going to be an up and down season, so people need to accept that. This is all about the development of Richardson and hopefully guys like Peirce, Gransom, Downs and Ogle tree will turn the corner. And right on time, the collapse of the 4th quarter defense. I guess they were tired again lol. Peirce really needs to take that next step. I so wanted Watson last year and was on record of wanting to trade up when he was sitting there waiting to be picked.
  13. It is not totally their fault. Watch the game. They are crowding the line. No one is running it and I believe even if Taylor was playing, he may not do much better. They need some big passing plays. The wrs are not getting separation or Richardson is not pulling the trigger. No one knows as watching it on TV doesn't tell u what is going on deep on each play. I like listening to Venturi as he breaks down play. He will let us know is it lack of separation by the wrs, Richardson not pulling the trigger or both?
  14. I was against giving Taylor an extension, but wow, their backs are horrible. I bet they sign Hunt right after this game.
  15. The one thing u take away from this game win or lose. Richardson does not look over whelmed at all. He actually looks like a vet in the pocket and seems so comfy. He is probably the most athletic qb that I have seen who's first choice is to throw rather than run. I know it's early, hut man I am honestly shocked how in control he looks
  16. I have been hard on the Olne, but remember this. This Olne has been under a lot of pressure in the Reich years due to qb play. Its, the same story today. Teams r playing the run and will until Richardson can beat them with his arm. When that happens, lanes will open up big time.
